Disguised ancestral memorial tower (Mito-City)
Hi, @NianticGiffard .
I have reviewed this Wayspot post, which is grossly immoral and false.
This Wayspot post is in Japanese.
I will try to translate it into English.
Title:
道脇の石碑
Stone Monument at the Side of the Road
Description:
道路施工時の安全祈願
This Stone Monument that for safety during road construction.
Supplementary information:
歩道脇なのでウォーキングで訪れることができる
The place where this exists is beside a footpath. It can therefore be reached by walking.
City: 1282-1 Horichō, Mito-City, Ibaraki-Pref.
Country:Japan
Original Photo
Google Street View
However, we can see that the object applied for is actually located 12m south of this Google Street View location.
Here is the Google Street View closest to the one applied for.
This is the original location.
The person who applied for the monument says in the description
"This Stone Monument that for safety during road construction.”
Is this true?
I believe it is a falsehood and an attempt to deceive the judges.
I zoomed in and changed the tone to make it easier to see the inscription carved here.
The inscription here is in Japanese: "先祖代々供養塔".
"先祖代々(Senzo-Daidai)" means ”all our ancestors".
and,
"供養塔(Kuyou-Tou)" means ”memorial tower".
Translated, it means "ancestral memorial tower".
The tower was erected to mourn the ancestors of this family.
The Wikipedia article "墓石(Gravestones)" also describes a memorial tower as a type of headstone. (Japanese Only)

There are sentences about [the history of gravestones in Japan], which you are welcome to translate and read using Google Chrome or similar.
You can also try a Google image search by copying and pasting the words "先祖代々供養塔" into the search box.
You will find a large number of gravestones in Japan.
This stone is not, as the person who applied for it said, "a monument erected to pray for safety during the construction of the road".
It is therefore now clear that the applicant has attempted to deceive us by falsehood.
I am sending this report to you.

@MagicalThorn-ING if you believe this nomination is not eligible for the game, then you can deny it with a one-star-rating.
Thanks for the appeal, Agent. We took another look at the Portal in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
Hi, @NianticAtlas .
This is the first time you've spoken to me, isn't it?
I have asked you to write a comment and I can see that you have not read any of my reports.
First of all, this is not a report asking you to remove a Wayspot that already exists.
It is impossible for you to remove a Wayspot that doesn't exist, because it doesn't exist yet.
Secondly, this is a report which accuses the applicant of falsely claiming that the forged ancestral memorial is a "roadside stone monument".
Atlas, you used the word "we" in your post.
Did you use "We" in your post to state that the consensus of the team is that you can't remove a Wayspot that doesn't exist?
Or is it your own personal opinion?
No, I don't believe that you will answer the truth, but
However, I would like to point out that you have made some misguided comments about my report.
My words may have been a little strong in tone, but I must point out where I was wrong.
@NianticGiffard ,
I would be grateful if you could read the report when you have time.
Hey @MagicalThorn-ING,
Sorry for the confusion. We have reviewed the submission and can see that it has already been rejected by the community. We have taken appropriate action against the Wayfinder who had submitted the nomination.
Best,
Hi, @NianticAaron ,@NianticAtlas ,and @NianticGiffard .
I see! I get it.
I may have been too strong with my words.
Aarron,This time your post is very clear.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
I've removed the off-topic comment/s from this thread and decided to close it for future comments. I appreciate your understanding.
