I don't know, but i hope it will be the case.
Would be nice to be able to take a nice photo and submit it later or be able to go into your photo album rather than a live pic
@AnsonNIA-PGO as i wanted to submit something later on the 11th, exactly what time CET will the submission close?
Hopefully the Pokémon Go player base gets a completely new experience when submitting and reviewing.
Submitting test - understanding of what makes a good submission.
Submitting UI redesign - not having the word Pokéstop mentioned about six times.
Acceptable criteria made completely clear while submitting - POIs deemed acceptable by Niantic and click one to proceed with your submission.
New filter in supporting information - Having all abbreviations of Pokestop banned aswell as portal.
Dumb question, but does this mean we just can't nominate new stops after the 11th, or does this apply to reviewing as well?
You can review, but it implies that new nominations will be off for a little while.
Niantic have updated the Pokémon Go known issues page ( https://niantic.helpshift.com/a/pokemon-go/?p=web&s=top-articles&f=known-issues ) with a little bit of extra information that's relevant to this post.
They have stated that the issues with the game crashing during the wayspot submission process should be fixed by this maintenance. It does only specify for Android 11 users (which may be because they have no workaround in the form of using a different camera app), but I'm hoping it works for everyone affected by this bug.
NianticHelp’s Twitter also seems to suggest this was due to crashes as @HankWolfman-PGO says. I haven’t experienced any but I submit on iOS. Any Android users experienced issues?
Also, some transparency from @AnsonNIA-PGO would have been better if it were just an Android issue that needed fixing
I'm using android.
Game started to crash about march/april after some update... while accepting photo game was crashing. I used some directions that other guys gave me here on forum and luckly one of my phones started to work(they told me to set photo as "normal/weak quality"), Redmi 9 still dont work and game crush while taking photo, alcatel 1s also crushes, OPPO A12 start to crush after 2'nd 3'rd nomination - then i restart phone. Pokemons use to much ram/memory on phone after niantic added some features this years spring.
Ah I see. That sucks. Hope they fix it. As I said, would have been nice if Niantic were upfront about why they were taking nominations offline.
I am on Android myself and do experience the crash when trying to submit, but in my case I'm on Android 10, which has the workaround of being able to use a different camera app (which is exactly what I do). This isn't available on Android 11 because Google made a tweak to some security stuff. It will be nice if this finally fixes the issue so that I no longer need to do that and so that those who don't have access to the workaround are able to submit again :)
Are wayspots not being synced to Pokémon Go for the duration of this update?
Sync into the PoGO platform seems to have been delayed yesterday and has been not p inconsistent lately. I would expect it to be unreliable over the next week or so until the updates are done.

Yeah, things seem a bit bumpy at the moment. Can’t enter text on some rejections or select duplicates. Might leave it for a bit until they sort it.

Just also dropping the Ingress thread link here too as it has a few other details, as Wayfarers start to see delays.
I know that the "new" Wayfarer is a work in progress, and won't go over the things I dislike because they've already been reported in Bug Reports for the most part.....but there are a few things I really like in the Nominations screen, namely the clear delineation of the selected candidate. There's a box around the nomination that makes it much more clear to my aging, myopic eyes which candidate I've picked from the list. It reminds me of the old Key Carousel in [REDACTED] that felt more "locked in" than Prime....I'm constantly accidentally scrolling past keys in Prime because they do not click in to place in the list. ****-fingered me still mourns the functionality of old.
If only the outline wasn't such an angry red....I miss the green (well, of course) Submit button and think the highlight would look good to match. Red always makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. I get, though, that Niantic never wants to show preference to any color besides...well, I won't go there, it's off-topic. :) But still, my Pokemon Go trainer self considers this a pro-Valor bias in a small way. Maybe orange, or purple, or even a nebulous shade of teal?

It's an android issue as far as I'm aware, and if it's the issue I'm thinking of, it's because android phones under a certain size (think it's 6gb of ram, or the relevant soze) close things in the background to save power, so because pogo switches to the camera, it shuts down PoGo to save power, used ti have it all the time on my old phone, took me 7 attempts to get a submission done jusy cause it kept closing down
Interesting that during this period while they're fixing the issue with PoGo, they've also removed Wayfarer access to my nominations and to reviewing, which has nothing to do with the PoGo app. Anyone else noticed this? It now says I have to have Ingress level 10 before I can access Wayfarer, and it only lists Ingress. The help files haven;t been updated, so they still say PoGo level 38, but the site itself has rejected my login ten times. Kind of suspicious. Like they're planning to use this issue as an excuse to remove PoGo players from the nomination and review process altogether. It could just be me. If so, maybe they could fix it for me.
I can still login to Wayfarer, see my nominations and review, and I only have access through PGO. So it's something else.
I still have access to Wayfarer using my Pokémon Go account. Wayfarer was being glitchy before the maintenance started, and whilst the maintenance may help to fix these glitches, it's probably a bit unstable whilst the maintenance is being carried out.
I think your issue is something else. I have no issues logging in to Wayfarer.
I can no longer access the nominations on my Pokémon Go account in the "option" tab of the game. Is this due to this famous update which will last a week?
The post you quoted literally says that Pokéstop submissions are suspended for up to a week. That's why the button is missing
It will last at least a week. I’d anticipate longer.
When this maintenance is over, are we expecting any improvements to Pokémon GO nominations?
Any extra nominations, or remote nominations finally?
Honestly, I'll be happy if the game really just stops crashing when making nominations. Rebooting my phone every time I want to make a nomination is a pain.
But additional features would be nice, of course.
I haven’t had any issues generally on iOS but I know many others on Android have had issues. Hopefully it doesn’t take longer than the time they mentioned.
