Photo with phone brand watermark

More and more phone brands add a watermark by default (pokophone, Xiaomi,...) and as people don't deactivate them they end up in wayfarer nominations.
Should these be considered nominally or is this watermark reason for rejection (1*/bad photo quality)?

You mean rejecting them or using that particular reason when rejecting them? For the former, there is this from the January 2019 AMA:
Q35: There are various kinds of watermarks. Camera makes, timestamps, photographer names, 3rd party imposed water marks, etc. Does OPS makes any kind of distinction between these or are they all treated the same?
A35: They are treated the same and don’t meet the criteria for a good quality photo.

1*, poor quality photo
I know this is the common advice we reviewers give each other, but has Niantic ever officially commented on this? If so, can someone share the documentation of that comment?
