From other announcements, shutting down PoGO nominations had to do with fixing a glitch that caused the game to crash. Because the back-end code is clearly different, Ingress was able to remain active whereas PoGO needed more maintenance.
It's not exclusive to Android 11. It happens on lower versions of Android as well and I've seen a couple of reports of it happening on iOS as well, though it's rare on iOS.
Oh really? When I’ve seen it on known issues it’s mentioned as an Android 11 issue. I haven’t had any issues myself on iOS, but if it has been affecting various OSs then makes sense to take it all offline.
The speed in which certain nominations I made in a fast moving cell tells a different story. There are a significant number of reviewers who are continuing. I didn't use wayfarer+ and yes it's broken from what the previous wayfarer we had before previously. There's a laundry list of complaints and feature requests so I don't think much will get done since it's a lot and it's going to be more of what's the bare minimum that needs to get fixed.
You will never "be heard" by this company, and you're näive if you think otherwise. This company and "communication" are antithetical to each other; they are masters of deflection and obfuscation.
The bugs listed at the beginning of this do not have investigating stickers. There is no intent to "fix" them. This update has in their mind delivered a product with the same look and feel of the previous one.
There is apparently no need to change the website to be less flashy and possibly prevent seizures. No acknowledgement on that one.
The nomination page's lack of the satelite and pegman doesn't affect the amount one reviews directly so no need to fix that. Yes, a user might really want this function to make sure their own nomination has streetview correctly seen but it doesn't affect throughput of nominations reviewed.
The inability to withdraw in voting stuff may very well be by design. So, either a working as intended or investigating sticker would be appropriate.
If there is no intention of building in translation functions to replace the wayfarer + functionally that some used, then they should state that and direct people to review on a browser that has built in translation functions.
It looks like the only thing worth working on is getting pokestop nomination back on line and fixing the sync issue. I'm not saying those aren't important but the items listed at the beginning of the topic are not being worked on and not perceived as bugs.
You aren't "being heard", you are naive if you believe they're actually going to improve their communication, beyond shallow corporate PR non-statements. Niantic is incapable of "hearing the players" past the lens of their green money goggles.
Forcing to a smaller font, acres of blank space onscreen, content stuffed into tight undersized tiles - this update is downright painful to the visually impaired. Maybe there's some sort of anti-accessibility campaign throughout Niantic to which we masses are not privy.
If you've admittedly increased your reviewing with the new system, then why would they respond by changing things. You've shown by your actions that this system and their response is more than acceptable to you.
They're looking at output and error rate. If those metrics are fine then it ok.
I agree with you. I think really many people review now. I reviewed only a few nominations each day this week to see if errors were fixed (I reviewed about 5-10 nominations each day to see difference, there is none for me, the same errors again and again).
Even with this little nominations I reviewed I suddenly got huge amounts of agreements (I even got another upgrade). So it seems some of older nominations I reviewed were suddenly reviewed by some other people this week.
I'm not sure if it means that many people like changes and started reviewing more now or something changed with doing reviews, but it for sure won't help to get errors fixed, if so many people review. As there is no difference for me, I'm now stopping reviewing until system will be fixed to not be part of any false message to Niantic that everything is fine as many people still review.
I hope wayfarer will be better in future, as now it's worse than it was, and that's not how it's should be.
While I’m at it, I’d once again like to mention that we’re still waiting for the added bonus nominations which were promised back in spring 2020 by @NianticCasey-ING when the ”double nominations” treat backfired and people submitting new wayspots went into negative numbers with their ”nominations available” for 13 days. Let me know if you forgot how it went and what was promised and I’ll dig up a thread link for you.
My agreements, meanwhile, are crawling. I really do need upgrades because without upgrades, my in-voting local candidates are likely to go into game except in Ingress, if the current bug remains unresolved. I want them in Ingress, too. I'm still in Great status, as I have been for some time. I'm reviewing slightly less because the new site causes me actual physical pain.
What do you see as improved here? I can’t think of anything that that isn’t either status quo or a step back.
Two non-quality-of-life changes that are huge negatives for their product and have no work-arounds are (a) the inability to withdraw in-voting submissions (which clogs the queue and in slow areas will prevent some things from ever getting approved without wasting upgrades), and (b) the lack of duplicates on the satellite view (will lead to duplicate baseball fields, etc.).
I can’t think of a single, even super-tenuous reason for these changes.
Yeah, mines have alowed down immensely as well. Given that about 3 to 4 weeks ago I did about 300 reviews (and maybe another 50 since the change on the website), I'd expect to still see quite a few agreements come through now, but over the last 2 weeks I've seen enough to get 20% towards an upgrade
I'm looking at my old nominations and I cannot see the Google Street View, nor can I move the Google Maps view around. For some reason, all I see is a screenshot of Google Maps. Plus, there's no borders around everything and it just looks so uncouth. I hate the new Wayfarer. Reviewing feels like even more of a chore than it really should. When people asked for Wayfarer improvements I am certain this is not what they meant.
Yeah, I'm wondering what we did wrong to deserve this? Were we bad like Sodom and Gomorrah? I think not! Most people giving up their free time to work unpaid work for Niantic are honest individuals.
I still don't believe they have been reading your post, i would place my bets on "seen the title and posted a rather generic 'Soon™' answer just to make sure it looks like they are looking at it.
Yes, I was able to look at the post and have responded to the links it included. I have recorded them and sent them to our team for review. Hoping to get you an update as solutions are being applied. Thank you :)

Because it isn't part of the same system.

For some reason, Pokémon GO nominations were crashing on Android 11. There were no reported issues when nominating via Ingress so it wasn’t disabled.
Still not clear why it was disabled for all users when it seems to be an Android only issue.
Thanks for a reply. It's good to see somebody communicating and receiving feedback that we're being heard.

I have stopped reviewing after the "up"-grade, and heard of others that have done the same. It is broken and needs fixing.

I wouldn't say it's rare on iOS. It happens all the time to me, and a few other players have said the same thing.

Thanks for your opinion! It's been noted.

@NianticGiffard What did we do wrong to deserve this?

@daawg-ING thank you for bringing this up again. I was afraid with Caseys Exit that this would be shrug even more under the carpet.
The Thing in Spring 2020 was for me the most humiliating thing ever happened in wayfarer.
Yes, I see a huge amount of agreements even though I've taken a break. As far as I can see people really like this new system based on their usage.
There's more reviews and less problems currently being worked on this system overhaul is very much a success.
