Submission Disappeared completely

I used 14 Submissions on August 13th via Ingress to submit new wayspots. I received a confirmation email for all 14 and all 14 could also be seen in Wayfarer. After about 48 hours, one of the submissions has completely disappeared from Wayfarer! I thought this might have something to do with Niantic's maintenance work on Wayfarer, but even though this is now apparently completed, the missing submission has still not reappeared in Wayfarer. The other submissions have nearly all already been processed, i.e. accepted or rejected, but I have no status for the submission that has disappeared ... Help! What's happening? What can I do?

I was so happy to submit this tower. In my opinion a very good 5 * candidate. But apart from the fact that the submission has been used up, I cannot show anything other than the confirmation email that the submission has been submitted, as the submission is no longer visible in Wayfarer. 😭
There were similiar cases recently, and I think that most of them were pulled out by Niantic to review it by they workes (as Niantic workers need to review some nominations too).
These nominations were back after some time, and all came back as reviewed: either rejected or accepted. Maybe your case is the same.
Thanks. Is there an official article to read about this somewhere?
I'm not sure if there is official article about it, but there was some threads in "Report a bug" section:

I hope it helps in any way :)
They also said previously they would look into making it more intuitive when this happens but they have not.
Hey there, @WayfarerMSE-PGO! Like others mentioned this often happens due to our manual review of the nominations. Don't worry, you should be receiving an email once a decision has been reached for the candidates.
Since this gets brought up so often, could a simple post be made in https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/known-issues so we can properly direct people to it?
Thanks for bringing it up! We have started working on the Known Issues column.
Ah, thanks for the information. Then i wait.
I was just happy that I received an email informing me that my submission was accepted. But the joy was short-lived. There was no key, no +1 stat and no 1000 AP. The wayspot also did not appear. The Wayspot is now visible again in Wayfarer, but what use is that to me if the Wayspot itself is not available??? Please check!

@NianticGiffard @NianticAaron if these delays were a few days due to manual review, why did they require a few weeks under the rubric ‘automated review’?
So @NianticGiffard, I dare say that this is an issue that suddenly NEEDS to be addressed.
A lot of wayfarer users are obsessed with the idea of "honeypot" submissions -- those which they believe are inserted into the review queue in order to "trip up" poor reviewers. But from everything I can tell, those are really just a conflation of these "manually reviewed" submissions. (ie. Niantic reviews it, makes a FINAL decision on its acceptability, and then returns them into the queue.)
But OP's comment above shows a fairly big problem now. They got an "acceptance" email, but the nomination was returned into their submissions list. So now there's a "tell": If a nomination disappears and comes back, then its fate is decided. But the submitter ALSO knows if it was accepted or not! And therefore it's apparently possible now for that information to leak, and these pseudo-honeypot nominations can no longer effectively do their job.
In short, that "acceptance" email that OP received above should NOT arrive until after the player-reviewers have reached their own decision. And better yet, the nomination should NOT disappear from the player's list, at worst the player should only see "IN VOTING" as per normal.
@NianticGiffard I ask for your comment. Please make sure that I get the 1000 AP, the key and the +1 stat, and the portal should also appear in Ingress. The observation tower is so remote and the only sight far and wide. Please :(
It's also quite possible that this is one of the submissions that has fallen afoul of the bug (hopefully!) where some accepted submissions simply aren't appearing in Ingress.
@WayfarerMSE-PGO Do you know if it appeared in PoGo (if there's been enough time)?
Yes, the Pokéstop has appeared, but there is no portal! And as I said, the +1 stat, the 1000 AP and the key are also missing!
Please fix the error and synchronize!
@NianticGiffard
I understand your concern however don't worry. This is expected behavior due to the backend changes we are making. I would appreciate your patience while we are at it, the Portal should be live too eventually.
I will wait, I have no choice! Unfortunately, you're sitting on the longer lever.
And it will "eventually" show up? I definitely expect it to show up! I beg you!
I also expect the +1 stat in the profile.
If it had gone live during #meetyououtthere you would have gotten +1888 AP for the new portal as well.
Same issue here… no portal, it became a stop in pogo.
Now a submission submitted via Pokémon Go has been accepted. No portal has been created and since the cell is already occupied, there is no stop. So in the end I don't get any benefit from it. I hope you can get your system under control soon. It's no fun like that!
The portal for my observation tower has now appeared and I have also received the key! Thanks!
💙
Unfortunately, the submission submitted and accepted via Pokémon did still not appear! Please check.
I don’t suppose you could detail those changes and say why this happening rather than trust me all is well.
@NianticGiffard @NianticVK
As written in my comment, the portal appeared later and I received the associated key, please be honest, did you help manually?
I ask for the following reason: There are now more wayspots affected by me. One does not appear in any game (😭), one only appeared in Pokémon Go, but not in Ingress.
That's why I commented in the Ingress forum (Click me) and and shortly afterwards (~24 - 48 hours), at least the wayspot visible in Pokémon Go also appeared in Ingress and I reveived the Key.
I was then contacted privately by other players asking for advice, as my wayspot turned up in contrast to everyone else's.
Assuming you haven't helped manually, I may have information for you that can help you identify and fix the bug? However, I do not know whether there is really a connection!
Nevertheless, I would like to share it with you:
What do the 2 wayspots that first appeared in Pokémon Go, but were later synchronized to Ingress, have in common? - I "liked" the associated Pokéstops in Pokémon Go!
Could that have caused some kind of forced sync? Check it out, I hope this information helps you?
@NianticGiffard @NianticVK
A couple of players wanted to see if my theory was correct and they just gave me positive feedback. If you "Like" a wayspot in Pokémon Go that has not appeared in Ingress, it will be synchronized and appear together with the portal key! I hope this info helps you!
Please also find a solution for the wayspots which did not appear in any game!
Is this proven, actually?
Also, for edits that still don't sync to any games, will it be finally sync after a "like"?
Yes.
I don't know if it concerns edits, but to be honest, I don't care.
I can now say with certainty that wayspots appear in Ingress when they have received a Like in Pokémon Go. I hope this information will help Niantic with troubleshooting.
Edits do successfully sync it into Ingress. What's more, it forces a sync regardless of the 20 meter "rule."
I am in the process of testing the like the photo theory.
one of these instances of a portal not appearing in ingress is within my field of view.
Guessing it might happen around PoGo sync time as presumably there is an exchange of data then.
Thank you for the information 😆
I experimented immediately.
I added 👍 to Poké Stop last night and the portal was really synced and displayed this morning. (It's Japan time.)
My portal was within the 20 meter limit but was displayed.
