Is it normal to get reviews for international stops?

Hello folks
I am new here and have only started reviewing, only done about 290 or so. Anyway, I was wondering if it's normal to get stops from other states and countries? When I first joined I thought it would be local but for some reason my reviews are all over the place. Is that normal?

Yes, you normally will get un-upgraded reviews that are local, IDK the radius, but for me in Central Florida its usually just that. No north no south. My friend in Northern Florida will get that area plus Georgia and South Carolina
Upgraded nominations will be from usually your country, I get things ALL over the USA. Even Alaska, Maine, Hawaii.
Every once in a blue moon I have got Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Guam, and the British Virgin Islands.
For me at least they are very rare, but it happens.

So IDK the radius, but un-upgraded things will be ususally from your area and neighboring states if you are close enough

Okay, so my previous more well spelt out comment will appear later... APPARENTLY British V.I.R.G.I.N Islands is a no-no naughty bad word so it went into manual review... Come on people FIX the wording system.
It really seems like all the BEST communicators are the ones censored by H.A.L., and now it is wrecking threads even worse with these moderation delays.

Welcome to Wayfarer! Super excited to have you. So several things come to mind as I read your post. The first being if you have set your home location and your bonus location. Both will help funnel nominations from your local community and the community you set for your bonus location i.e. your hometown you no longer live in or an area you frequent often. The other reason being recent travel... If you have recently traveled and you played any of the Niantic games it'll also feed you nominations from that area.
Yes, it is normal. I have gotten reviews from Mexico, Europe, Australia, and every state in the US from Maine to Florida to Hawaii to Alaska. Frankly, I very rarely get reviews from the area I actually live.
What countries are you seeing?
Guam, Saipan, US Chaste Islands, and Puerto Rico are all part of the US so you'll see them, typically on "upgrades."
You won't review "proper" Mexico or Canada, but you'll see nominations right along the border where the cells may be identified as US rather.
Yeah, even when the Home and Bonus locations are set, you'll see stuff outside of those areas but in your geopolitical area, and sometimes areas along borders as Gendgi said.
