Wow, this is something that has been a huge problem for some people for a long time.

I’d decided that after 34,000+ reviews I’d had enough for a while given the 4-day cooldowns, approved wayspots that aren’t appearing in Ingress (something else that’s surely bugged, given that it seems to happen to everything Niantic reviews itself), and the Foursquare debacle. But now I’ll consider doing some reviewing again.
(Please fix the other stuff, too? :) )
I raise a toast to the server-side engineer who found it and fixed it, and will buy them a glass of fine scotch if I ever have the opportunity.
In a way i'm angry, there were so many bug reports on this, with tagging Niantic staff. And it's clear they never listened, never did anything, or couldn't do anything.
Anyway better late than never, @NianticDanbocat you're off to a good start, keep it up!
I hope @NianticDanbocat and @NianticTintino can take this away from the discussion here. It feels like tons of Wayfarers have been complaining about this for well over a year, only to always be told it's working as intended, or asked to set their home/bonus locations, or given vague assurances they're monitoring things. And then the first time that a Niantic employee actually looks into these reports, they come back immediately with a fix.
I'm not saying the above is exactly what happened, but as a community member it's at least how it feels. I'm very happy that this is fixed. My hope is that the current Wayfarer staff takes this as a lesson and doesn't allow problems like these to continue due to lack of engagement with/trust in the community.

Yeah I remember you getting hit by this bug a few times in previous forum posts. You were not the happiest camper when waiting.
Maybe we need to start offering to buy the wayfarer team a round anytime they fix a bug we hate 🍻

Kind of a shame that it's taken so long to correct something that many users where constantly pointing out - and turned out to be a minor bug as well.
Havent reviewed in ages due to these repeated 4 day cooldown killing my steam but i'm finally ready to return, Thx Niantic!
