Suggestions for getting this approved
Photo below. Was told the photo was blurry or looks like it was taken from a car and that it appeared to be a K-12 school. I can’t see the supplemental info I added now, but literally the first thing I said was “not a K-12 school” which is also rather intuitive when you read the description. I’ve been walking by this place for over a month hoping there wouldn’t be a car parked right in front of it. I also have to zoom in which does take some quality away but I can’t stand in the middle of the road to take the picture. Also if I took the picture straight on the trees block the name of the place. I feel like this is one of those “just keep submitting and hopefully it’ll work out eventually” but considering how rarely there’s not a car parked in front of it idk when that can even happen. And the slight car in the picture is cut out when it shows what the photo will look like when submitting. This is seriously an awesome place that deserves recognition.

id sugest focusing your photo on the school title mosaic. not trying to get full thing in the photo. or even better submitting the mosaic below it . as it fits very well in criteria. id also try and get closer so you have less unrelated objects in the photo such as the car and tree and road
The mosaic is indeed very nice. I would also focus on it more.
I would also not copy paste the description directly from their website.
Seems like a cool place. Would definitely approve.
The description is at the top when reviewing and I think there are at least a few reviewers who decide to reject nominations before even reaching the supporting information. I personally don't think your description alone makes it overwhelmingly obvious that this is not a K-12 school, so I'd suggest adding a sentence at the beginning of your description like "This art studio offers classes to help people of all ages learn to create mosaics" to forestall those instant rejections.
I also agree that a close-up photo of the mosaic or even a sign for the school is better than a photo that is half car, street, and window full of glare and reflections.
Yeah I’m personally not big on photos that don’t really make the actual location apparent but it is a super cool mosaic and I should be able to get much better quality.
And I was being a bit lazy with using the website summary but I didn’t know how to do it total justice. I’ll add in something about all ages at the beginning of the description.
Thanks for the help. I’ll submit again and hope it goes through this time. Thanks again!!
Copying text from third-party sources is explicitly forbidden in the rejection criteria. You MUST come up with your own description.
I would also say the mosaic itself is much more likely to get through reviewing, even if the school as a whole should also be acceptable.
I took a long long break from trying to submit any after I became rather disillusioned and I should have brushed up on the rules since I didn’t remember that one. Will fix going forward of course.
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I didn't know about it but now I might check it out irl. Otherwise I just echo the advice of the people above and if I see this in my queue, I'll give it a good score.
Ahhh thank you! It got approved this time! Seriously I appreciate all the genuine suggestions and glad this isn’t one of those discussion boards that attacks newbies but instead actually helps :)
Wow! What a difference your photo made in your approved nomination! Looks great! @kaireky001-PGO
I was going to second what everyone else said, but wow, that new photo looks great and it's already approved! Congrats, that's the way to do it!
