Wayspot causing headaches for property management

Name of Wayspot: Lazy B Campground

Ingress Intel Link to Wayspot

City: Near Wooster, Ohio

Country: USA

Screenshot of rejection email: N/A

Based upon comm messages from a player who claims to be the property manager and players who attest to being friends to the property manager, the wayspot has caused police to be called multiple times for players trespassing to access it as well as harassment over a longer period. Additionally, the portal description lists no trespassing.

It appears clear that the intention of the owner and the property manager is to deter people from interacting with this wayspot and to prevent further harassment and trespassing, the wayspot should be removed from the games and blacklisted from re-entry into the POI database.

This has been looked at ad nauseum and should be removed. Thisis causing causing unnecessary roughness in the game and making the game quite unpleasant in the community.

No, the owner and property manager SHOULD BE the ones to ask its removal to Niantic. There's a form in each game's support page to let them to do so.

If the support pages were easy to navigate to the uninitiated and unfamiliar, I'm sure that is what the manager and owner of the property would have done. The manager and owner have updated the portal description to say no trespassing, and have made it clear via their comm messages that people are not welcome there. However, since the support system is about as clear as mud, and there has been no action taken on Niantic's part concerning this portal to date, some of the locals who see the comments made by the property manager in comm on a regular basis, decided we might want to make Niantic aware through another channel, since most of us are more familiar with the system than say, a new player, or an uninitiated person would be.

The property owner must contact Niantic directly via the form provided in the Pokémon GO or Ingress Help centers. A random player cannot act as an intermediary for the property owner.

  • Thanks for the appeal, Agent. We took another look at the Portal in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.

Having said that, if you're not certain you have the right to access a location or are not certain it is safe to access, please do not make any attempts to do so. As a player or any other member of the community, you must respect access restrictions, never trespass, or in any manner gain or attempt to gain access to any property or location where you do not have the right or permission to be.

Please review and follow the Guidelines at all times while playing to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone!

You know that the owners actually don't want the portal removed at all. They want to use it as their private portal, so they will never request its removal.
