Let's stick to the Like so it makes it easier. What are your thoughts? Do we need the "Insightful" for votes? At the end folks can only click on one or the other...
True there is that restriction. To me it makes sense to combine both as some users will not realize it's supposed to be a Like. This question arose in a past AMA and the decision then was to count the combination. Going forward perhaps settings can be modified to allow voting on more comments (I think this is possible, I'm looking into it.) but if not then it should be made very clear from the beginning that only Likes will count. It may also be possible to disable a particular type of reaction within a thread so Insightful and even Disagree could be disabled for AMA threads, again I'll look into this.
Edit: Sadly it appears reaction toggling is global to a forum rather than per category or per post (you likely already knew this but i was curious). The KB article suggests using custom CSS to hide certain reactions in certain categories so that's a potential option.
As for the limit of 10, I think you were hoping to use a poll? Nothing else in the vanilla forum kb seems like it would work for this which is disappointing. I guess the only solution is bi-weekly AMAs with 10 questions each 😂
Is it possible to remove non-questions from this thread so people can find better the questions?
And if there's some question that you're not gonna answer at all, please remove it or don't include in your selected top 15 questions. (same with duplicate questions)
If a POI has been accepted but do not meet acceptance criteria, could you add the option when reporting in game "does not meet criteria"? I.e. Severals mass produced advertising billboards (made by Clear Channel) have been approved clearly against the acceptances criteria.
This isn't a Wayfarer related rule. It's a Pokémon Go related rule. As has been clarified, the teams behind each game get to set the rules for their own game boards, which is why some wayspots don't appear in some games. As such, this isn't really the right place to be asking this. It would be better suited for the Pokémon Go forum, were it not for the minor issue of no such forum actually existing at the current time.
Thanks for the info. Yes, it would be nice to have such a forum. I believe this problem results in a lot of time wasted and duplications being submitted and upgraded. Seems like everyone is equally frustrated. Would be nice to convince them to add those spaces to the boards.
Clarification around restaurants coffee shops would be very helpful. The only directive from Niantic is "popular" which is an indefinitive term that leads to a very wide and inconsistent interpretation. I've had an award winning restaurant in my area rejected three times, honestly its probably our most well known restaurant in town. Some reviewers require list of awards won, rating information within yelp, google, TripAdvisor, or Facebook and more, and sometimes this still is not enough. Other reviewers admittedly have a default to reject any restaurant or coffee shop. This leads to very inconsistent and frustrating review standards for nominators. Better more concise and more defined definitions around this would be very helpful.
Can we clarify whether POI's on the side of a private residential building (for example a plaque detailing the buildings history, or that a famous person lived there, or a publicly comissioned artwork) which are accessable from the public street are valid?
Apologies if this came up already as I didn’t read all 10 pages of text.
Can we have clarification on what is “pedestrian accessible”? Too many reviewers think this means there must be a footpath or trail to the object in question. So anything with just grass access is rejected.
There also has to be clarification for restaurants and businesses. There is far too much interpretation, either correctly or incorrectly as to what should be acceptable or not. There seems to be a large swath of people auto rejecting any restaurant or business that comes their way. I guess that was not in question form. Can we have clarification on what is needed for an acceptable restaurant/business nomination?
I am currently accepting all local resturants if i dont know the brand. But i have no idea what is famous or not. but if they are open then they must be.
Building on that, why don't we get a scale on the google map anymore? We can't even guess at what's 40m from a house. It's kind of a relief really, not to be able to worry about it. The crowdsource user base says the 40m is irrelevant anyway. As long as the waypoint itself can be accessed without going into someone's yard - it's generally accepted to be OK. Now, throwing a resonator in someone's bedroom is officially considered fine - no measurements allowed or necessary.
Is there or will there ever be a way to fix/see poorly placed stops from ingress and fixing them on Pokemon GO. (example: Having a stop in the middle of a road in Ingress that cant be changed/seen in pokemonGO). A reporting system, live map in the nominating window, or maybe an eligibility to edit in ingress based on your Pokemon GO eligibility status would be helpful. Main problem is any stop in ingress is un-viewable in Pokemon GO.
So many nominations are only duplicates because Pokemon GO nominators can't see the current overall map. Fixing this problem would also cut down on the constant number of duplicate stops in the reviewing process.
There will be a reward for our approved wayspot? In the wayfarer we have upgrades when we review nominations. What About our approved wayspots? The only reward is the new wayspot in the game?
@Emoji7B-PGO Yeah! More items for you and better gameplay experience, that is what you get :) Also, for those people who want to report invalid waypoints that are fine otherwise but being generic, it got through so, just leave it. Don’t ruin other peoples games unless it will make it unsafe for them. Focus on reporting the waypoints that are dangerous instead. Like a waypoint in the middle of the road :)

Only the Like or Insightful + Like?
Voting ends in 5 days and the responses will be posted on the 30th.

IMO likes + insightful makes more sense... Since they are closely related

The community has voted! Insightful and Like will count as vote
I can't remember if anyone asked about language.
Could we enter our primary language - and then skips of nominations in a different language wouldn't count on our skip limit?

Niantic Wayfarer is like a season of The X-Files - They also made it up as they went along.

Given the subjectivity of the eligibility criteria, this would never work.
What should we do when we encounter one of the recent "foursquare" wayspots which is, say, two miles away from a correct location?
Just submit as invalid?
Will Wayfarer consider increasing the number of POi's in Lvl 17 cells to more than just 1???

Perhaps you should close down the channel for voting only and no new comments, @NianticTintino (cc @NianticGiffard)

Hello Explorers,
Just a reminder, today is the last day for voting! Make sure you cast your votes with the Insightful and Like reaction!
Should this now be closed off and Likes 👍 & Insightfuls 💡 be disabled for this thread so that you can sort the questions?
Does Niantic have any plans to increase the maximum number of gyms?
That’s up to Pokémon Company International and the Pokémon GO folks. Nothing to do with Wayfarer.
