What else is classed as eligible?

With Dog waste stations now confirmed as being eligible what else should actually be eligible?

Bus stops? You can meet other waiting passengers and be social, it will take you to a new place to explore.

All post boxes? These are not that different from a dog waste bin.

Could all man made objects be eligible?

What else does the community consider eligible?

Everything not defined as non-eligible is eligible by definition. After all, they have at least the same value as a dog waste station.

Sure, anything could be eligible, very few things should be considered strictly ineligible (unless it meets Rejection Criteria).

I'm not sure what you're asking for, a comprehensive list of things that could be considered eligible?

I can think of very few dog waste stations, but stops, or post boxes I would consider acceptable for simply existing. Seattle, Washington area has bus stops with large photo prints, murals, and other artwork that have been acceptable on an artistic value. On my street, there are generic bus stops every few blocks and I don't think a single one encourages exploration.

Everything that isn't on the auto reject list is eligible, but eligible does not mean acceptable. At least, that'd the level of cryptic we are getting now lol

What I’m asking is until we had the comment saying about dog waste stations would we have considered them eligible?

so what else did we consider and not eligible which now maybe should be?

If a dog waste station is considered as a social place then a lot more things should actually be considered.

That’s exactly my point. Would you have ever considered them as eligible before the comment? Are they really a good place to be socialise or explore?

Reviewing isn't as binary as an automatic yes/no. I read the text associated with the nomination and examine the area. Does it appear to be a place one would go to be social with others or play with their dog? A lot of local apartments in my area have an open field or enclosure to allow off-lease play. There may be no official signage for the area, but signage is not required. If signs don't exist, the waste station may be acceptable as the physical representation of the area. If it's simply a box of bags on the curb between the apartment and parking lot, I would rate it 1* and move on.

    Just pasting @NianticDanbocat his statement:

You don't have to approve any of them. The point is they are eligible, but reviewers majority decision concludes whether it gets accepted.

If you are eligible to apply for a scholarship, it doesn't mean the reviewers are going to grant you the scholarship each time you apply.

If you are eligible to run for mayor, it doesn't mean voters are going to vote for you each time you run.

If a pet waste station is eligible, it doesn't mean it should become a Wayspot each time it is submitted.

Eligibility and acceptance are separate concepts

So in short, if you presume that something meets one of the eligibility criteria and none of the rejection criteria you can nominate it.

Then it's up to the community to accept or reject it. The majority has spoken.

So this also puts an end to "false rejection" "abusive reviewers" etc. Since the majority decides whether something is accepted or not.

I may be putting it too extreme in black and white, but it's how we can interpret this guidance

Precisely this. This is how I review. After looking at the main image and title, I concentrate on location verification panel. I zoom in and out, check for as many Streetview angles as I can, as well as overhead and obliques. Scroll around a bit and visit the area.

And like you've said, some narrow circumstances, sadly a poop can might be the most optimal proxy anchor but 99% of them are either not a proxy for anything or aren't needed because better proxies exist.
