Tons of invalid Wayspots in my area --> ever changing legal graffiti wall
So in my town there is a Graffiti wall about a kilometer long, it is huge.
A lot of the Graffiti there became Wayspots. And yes they all are or should i say were beautiful. artists paint over those graffiti every 2-6 months. Sometimes they host events where the whole 1000 meter are freshly sprayed.
Now what should I do? Should I go out and let all of them get removed? Probably yes, but all new submissions will probably be gone by the time they have been approved. So the problem wouldn't be solves
in a way the existing spots do what they are supposed to do and lure people to watch the art, however what the spots promise is no longer there, but on the other hand ever changing art is cool as well.
Also I heard niantic banned people who tried to get too many spots removed from wayfarer thinking they try to make the game worse for people. Again the wall is 1 kilometer long. It would be a real wayspot purge.
Should I just leave the wrong stops up?

Is it a 1km long wall or is it devided into sections ?
In this case I would nominate "Graffiti Wall" with a description like "Part of the name-of-the-town graffiti wall. New Graffiti pops up every few months. For larger events the entire wall gets resprayed with new drawings"
Knowing that the graffiti gets re-painted every few months the artwork is rather temporary.
Instead of removing the current ones you can submit new pictures and send in a new title (Graffiti Wall Section X) and a general description.
In that case you don't have to remove / resubmit. The general subject remains the same (Graffiti-art)
As far as I am aware, murals that get painted over with other murals don’t qualify for removal. Even though the new mural isn’t what was originally approved. Based on personal experience from denied invalid wayspot report, though that was a while ago and things may have changed I suppose.
It still feels weird to me though, since what the wayspot says is there isn’t, and if I altered the title and photo of the current one I’d essentially be whole cloth replacing the originally approved wayspot, which I think we aren’t supposed to do. Feels a bit catch 22-ish.
problem is, if I change it, it cannot be checked since this part of the town is not on streetview and even if it was, it is outdated. My country also is pretta laid back when it comes to obscenities and other non kid friendly things. One mural for isntance got replaced with a huge joint. not sure if niantic wants "big cannabis cigarette" as a way spot
the wall goes along the train tracks and fuctions as a barrikade between the pedestrian part and the tracks. so it is one uninterupted wall.
agreed catch 22 for sure
Can you just update the description to say that the graffiti art changes constantly? Make it part of the attraction. I think it sounds cool. It's a unique and unusual form of POI, and I think it deserves to be a POI.
A wayspot of an item that is not there anymore - is not invalid. Maybe it doesn't make sense with your game, but Niantic has many games.
In ingress lore, portals have been emitting XM for millennia. That XM affects and inspires human minds, so they made a mural there (church, statue, trail, etc). Even if the mural is removed, the portal is still emitting XM, same as it was before the mural was drawn.
Asking for removal affects all games. It is not invalid in all games.
So we should delete the "permanently removed" from removal criteria?
Sounds like a great place to play games, check out graffiti... and walk 1km. In some places in the world you can stand in one spot, spin 10 pokestops and have 2 gyms... WITHOUT MOVING.
I've been getting reviews for a seawall that has haiku plaques every 50m or 100m (I don't know). There is a string of wayspots stretching a long distance. All are haiku. Great for players there. Can't fault people for creating a great location that makes people walk. Wish I had one where I am.
This is a joke right?
Niantic created an Ingress anime' series a few years ago. It's now available on Netflix, in case you'd like to check out some of their lore regarding portals' eternalness. @Roli112-PGO @aleprj-PGO
That has nothing to do with waypoint eligibility, in case you wanna know criteria, check it out.
If there were some lore to the effect that tree groves had significance in Harry Potter, or wrecking yards in Transformers, would you advocate ignoring Wayfarer rules and accepting these?
Maybe we needn’t worry about art on electric boxes anymore, because electric-types are naturally attracted to them….
