Approved Nominations That Are Not Added to Game Because of POI Conflict

It's a long title, but I'm not sure how else to word it. I've had four good nominations approved, but because they seem to violate the seemingly arbitrary POI Rule they don't appear in Pokemon Go and only appear in Ingress. I have no idea how to play that game nor any interest in it either. If Niantic wants more people to play their games and actually have fun doing then this POI issue should end. It is extremely frustrating to have waypoints approved that I can never access because I play the wrong game. Why does it matter if one area has more stops then another? I can go to numerous locations where multiple stops and gyms are on top of each yet other places where there are fewer stops/gyms yet approved nominations are not in the game and they are farther apart. I am a daily player for several years. I'm thrilled when I get to interact with my own stops and also provide more opportunities for other players. Please explain why this POI Rule is even necessary.
Comments
This has been brought up many many times before, so I'll just leave a link to one of my previous comments here
I figured it has been discussed many times, but I didn't under which topic it might be. Thanks for the link.
Working as intended™️
You aren't the first, won't be the last and it's not about to change.
The Niantic folks have said before on here that it’s not up to them what goes live in what game.
The companies (WB, Pokémon Company International, Very Very Spaceship etc.) decide on the cell rules.
As it concerns Pokémon GO, you’d have to raise this in the app to them.
It’s important to remember that you’re not nominating just a PokéStop but you’re nominating a point of interest to add to the Niantic Lightship database which then may be added to any Niantic games or even none at the moment.
I understand it's multiple games, but the way it is determined just doesn't make any sense to me.
You’d have to take that up with the Pokémon GO team, not the Wayfarer forums. They will have been the ones who made the decision about cells etc.
We need a feature when nominating a location, if there is something on that cell or something within 20 meters, it will give you a warning that in the case the POI is accepted, the nomination will be highly unlikely to appear on that game.
Well, if this not change, more and more cell free edit will be made. It's simple.
Again, you’re not nominating stuff just for one game.
Why should someone get a "warning" about a game specific spacing algorithm for nomination to a generalized database of POIs? Especally since Niantic wants to keep those game specific spacing algorithms a secret, a warning would make it much easier to reverse engineer.

Source?
My understanding is that
1) Pogo cell districtrion was a hasty and crude solution to prevent too full game map.
2) Afterwards Niantic/TPC have been unwilling to spend money to fine tune the system.
Make a search for "iitc pogo tools", you should find the needed links to avoid unnecessary disappointments.
So, I recommend Googling around to figure out how it works before you nominate any more, especially when dealing with larger objects (bridges, athletic fields, etc) that have some leeway on their pin location. Sometimes, putting this pin over here will obscure it while putting that pin over there will bring it out. It’s not a subject for Wayfarer, though, it’s a game-specific discussion.
And who knows, but maybe it just all changed the other night, and those POIs you nominated might have come to the surface since then.
Do you have any source that states otherwise? I have yet to see any evidence that all game design decisions, which also include spacing algorithms, is wholly made my Niantic.
Do you have a source for this?
The Niantic folks mention it in their comments. Was just tracking one down.
As it says;
It is individually up to the games to decide which Wayspots they choose to accept onto their game boards.
So that translates to “Those who make the games decide on the cell rules”.
As per my comment above too.
You and PkmnTrainerj have the burden of proof, not the other way. :)
Which doesn't translate to
The Niantic folks have said before on here that it’s not up to them what goes live in what game.
The companies (WB, Pokémon Company International, Very Very Spaceship etc.) decide on the cell rules.
Claiming that Niantic as a company can't do something/anything about the cell situation is misleading and shifting the responsibility.
I would guess that there a very small percentage of those that nominate waypoints do it simply to add to the database.
The vast majority go to the effort to find, research, nominate, review in order to make gameplay “better”. That is the ultimate goal and reward.
So being able to be aware if something might appear is important. If you repeatedly nominate and nothing appears you stop.
Being aware stops endless duplicates coming into the system, and the nominator being disappointed. To say nothing of clogging the system for review.
There are plenty of nominations where there are perfectly legitimate choices over where to place a pin - not everything is a small object.
If wayfarer is to work it needs the submitters to keep wanting to submit.
Trying and failing to keep the “rules” secret is counterproductive.
Those that misuse the system, will misuse it anyway….and they need a different approach.
Those that genuinely want to contribute need to given all the tools they need.
I disagree but I don’t think I’ll change your mind on it.
It’s worth noting here that @NianticTintino mentions any issues with extra stuff on a game board is not a Wayfarer issue;
Again, you're not nominating something for only 1 game.
FYI Pikmin Bloom is released today, and I'd say that game is using another different spacing rule.
Thanks!
Where has that been said? I've never seen that, and, personally, I can't see pokemon caring how pois appear in game or arbitrary rules, when it's niantics property (the poi map)
I have a comment further up that mentions a comment from Niantic.
Niantic own Lightship, where all POI data is, but the Pokémon GO map, and what goes live would be decided by Pokémon Company International staff.
@NianticGiffard , @NianticTintino
Would either of you like to answer a simple question to clear this up.
Who is it that decides the level of distribution of POIs in each game
Is it
1) Niantic as game developers
2) The IP owner i.e. Pokemon Company, WB Games
3) A combination of both Niantic and the IP owner.
Im not asking for any trade secrets, discussing the actual way they are distributed, just who makes the choice in how its done.
I've just read it, that doesn't read as the companies who decided, it reads as the 20m/cell rules instead. At the end of the day, its noantics map, their games etc., they would decide goes into which games as they have to program it, I woukd again say why would the polemon company care how many go in?
Seems others are reading it different ways. @Theisman-ING has tagged Niantic so hopefully we get a response.
Yeah, I've just started playing it and it's really weird how that spacing seems to work. Near my work every pokestop in view is in pikmin, yet near my home, seems less than half are in.
