I doubt anyone from Niantic will see your request here in the General forum. Try reposting it here: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/removal-appeals
Meant to say PRP, but yeah, multiple fake wayspots stolen from a church about 4 miles away from the location... All on PRP. @NianticGiffard
Are we supposed to post them there? Isn't that just for appeals? Also someone is seeing these both the post and a comment I added have been manually reviewed...
We have reviewed the report and have taken action on the 6 Wayspots and Wayfinder in accordance with our policies. While we are unable to discuss our actions in detail to protect the submitter’s privacy, they may include, but are not limited to, sending a warning message, placing restrictions on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO, or Ingress account, putting their account on probation, or placing a temporary or permanent suspension on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO or Ingress account. Thanks for helping us maintain the quality of the Wayspots.
Thank you, I saw that this was taken care of about 2 days after my initial post. 👍🏻 I'll of course add anything if this area becomes a problem again.
Sometimes the delay in posting an update has to do with the action being taken "against the users" side of things and not on the waypoints. So you may notice the waypoints being corrected quickly but Giffard is still waiting for an update from the abuse team before coming back to report.
@NianticGiffard I JUST reviewed another stop at the SAME location... This person(s)' account(s) have not been penalized enough apparently. I will be attaching a screenshot in separate post.
@NianticGiffard ... Literally only days after removal and hours after your response.
Just reviewed ANOTHER one @NianticGiffard, titled "Bell bulldogs mural" at the same location ~29.74876855722317, -82.92979249126793. Will attach screenshot pending review.
Stolen from roundabouts ~29.75250162291725, -82.85860822038431 Since that is the mascot of the local high school.
Please take action on this person/these people. Whatever was done wasn't enough.
How can they move so many spots? I assumed that it wouldn't happen so easily because the community reviewed potential wayspot placement changes and one would need to be lucky to get reviewers that helped them.
Second question is are the wayspots returned to their rightful places or are they gone from the game until someone nominated them again?
They aren't moving them, they are nominating things with stolen images from other places around town.
It's all fake wayspots they are attempting to create on PRP
We have reviewed the report and have taken action on the Wayfinder in accordance with our policies. Thanks for helping us maintain the quality of the Wayspots.
This appears to be another suspicious submission in that same location.
@NianticGiffard This was after the last response from you about my latest review I did. So IDK if that means nothing was done or that their junk is still floating around in the queue...
We've taken action on the Wayspot flagged by @UCFJoe-PGO however action was already taken on the Wayfinder who was involved.
So if you've taken action on the Wayfinder, and the abuse continues, what you're effectively saying is that the "action" that was taken was a slap on the wrist AT BEST.
Thank you for confirming that the WF team doesn't give a **** about abuse. It was already known, but an official statement is much better.
I get what you're saying but let me clarify this. This nomination was in the system after the team had taken action on the other nominations, somehow this was missed out. However, I can confirm the Wayfinder who was involved in this abuse had been punished.
Understandable. Thanks for the clarification.
Can't you just remove all their nominations out from the queue?
I assume that is easier said than done... or that would be what Niantic support does.
... and another one. This appears to be another suspicious submission in that same location.
Yikes... It sounds like they may have flooded the queue with their 40+ nominations then for that area... So do we just have to keep an eye on it @NianticGiffard ? IDK how the system works, so IDK if you can clear all nominations that are in queue for these people for that area.
Many times I wonder, if Niantic doesn't care about fake wayspots and abusers, why do some reviewers care so much about those problems?
Approve everything and let it go.
If I had to deal with these problems I wouldn't hesitate at all to ban those abusers and remove everything related to them from Wayfarer and set a black hole for that zone. Niantic doesn't do that at all, ask yourselves: why?
I just reviewed the "Riels playground equipment" one too... lovely.
Ah. I've seen one person do that a few times in the same spot. One that Street View passes so they've put the POI behind a ****. The other side of the **** seems to be where I assume the old section of road was but has houses. The nominator probably lives in that area. I reported them as fake nominations because the background didn't fit and haven't seen any more. Other than that it's just been seriously misplaced pins.
@NianticTintino really, you need to check your bad word filter. The filter mistakenly assume shrub plants as one of ex-president of the US.
Off topic but yeah, somehow home-less is also a no-no naughty word. Is that a derogatory term now? What are we supposed to say, "transient individuals'?
Also I didn't know that.... what president?
Two of them, father and son, both named George. Also a slang term for curly hair in a private area.
