We call for a standardization of the rules for the appearance of stops, especially in PokémonGO, and we want to do it now! We also want to benefit from all possibilities and a fairness towards all players!
Why isn’t there a way that all POI’s are available in all Niantic games? So far our friends have been connected in all games but why not the POI’s? After all, they all rely on a common database. It’s a lot of work, depending on the region, to make a stop appear in the game. It’s nice to have us involved. But then we don’t want to hear “We may use it in the future”. – No, then let it appear too.
The main problem is the cell system used, because the cells for Pokestops are simply too large and many things can not be submitted or even appear in Pokemon. But these too have their raison d’être. We also want to have more or bigger places available.
Wayfarer is getting more and more frustrating and it’s a pity that Pokemon players in particular are being deceived on this point, because
• How many stops are there for us Pokemon players?,
• People do the work submit and rate for upgrades but only get the answer that they have been declined,
• or you get the promise and still nothing appears, although it has been accepted by both authorities,
• we submit for all games, but benefit from only a fraction and
• Players of other games submit things we can’t benefit from
Currently only players can really benefit from Ingress.
Want to try out new features at PokeStops? Then please make it available first of all, which there are in your other games just not in Pokemon.
We understand that you want to get us to go out more and do something, yeah, but the system is simply outdated and we want a revolution here too.
Please reconsider this point and develop general rules that apply to all games, so that we all benefit from it!
Stop being silly with calling on other employees just because this one doesn't say what you want to hear. Casey and at least one other doesn't even work there anymore.
They have already made it very clear that different games have different cell rules. Pokémon would be literally unplayable in some areas if all Wayspots where implemented there due to gyms and stops blocking other things like spawns and grunts.
Pokémon Go has roughly 2/3ds of all available Wayspots worldwide, the issues with losing out on additional ones are almost only in already very dense locations.
ingress players should not even care if there is more gyms/pokestops in pogo
pokemon go players care and are more happy to see that
niantic removing stuff just affect people, why dont you put all the pois in all games? in the end is thanks to pogo that your database is currently big yet its the game which has less pois...however the main thing that make it even funny is that any friendly player bug that appears it gets fixed asap meanwhile real bugs can stay there for the eternity...incredible...
Leave all the in-question waypoints in the game. It’s extremely tiring to have Niantic focus on “fixing” the things that benefit players, yet you take forever to resolve those things which hinder us.
Hi @NianticTintino-ING. I'd like to ask if you and the team might still reconsider this change.
I understand why future syncs have to stick to the rules - indeed, last week's bug was confusing to players who understand the current system well. I also understand it may have taken some time to diagnose and fix this issue.
But there comes a time - and I believe a week is more than sufficient - where you have to weigh the value of retroactively sweeping away Stops/Gyms which have become established on the game board and which - critically - players have spent time and money interacting with. You know players have rushed to buy passes to raid these gyms and work towards their gold badge. You know they have invested time battling gyms together between teams.
If a similar change were possible to locations created through the old legacy location edit system, would this also be done? I'd guess no - despite deliberate manipulation rather than an innocent bug, unless specifically flagged these are left as part of the game board because many of these changes go back years. Is a game board which perfectly adheres to the rules necessary? I'd argue Niantic's own policies say no as the game bends the rules to accomodate an increasing number of sponsored locations.
Today's change can be a positive one - identifying the bug, ensuring it does not reoccur - without causing the frustration and disappointment your players are expressing now. Niantic has shown it can listen to community concerns and course correct - please do take a moment to discuss this further before pressing on.
I'm amazed there's still people who assume Niantic is a competent business. Somebody from NIA could literally punch them in the face and they'd still be defending NIA. It's madness!
This is no problem. Easy solution. Just return the raidpasses that were spent on these gyms, remove the badges and return the time spent fighting over the new gyms to all players involved.
Oh you cant? None of the above? (I know nr 3 was abit of a stretch) Well then its a problem😂. So how are you gonna make it up?
This may be an error, but one that has benefited many of your player base. Keep the stops and Gyms. Quite frankly, from a commercial perspective, more Gyms means more raids, more passes used and purchased.
I can't help but feel whoever is in charge of Wayfarer/Lightship is super precious about their 'rules' and isn't happy this error 'broke' the rules. So what? Look at the community benefit, sup it up, and crack on. Don't throw your toys out of the pram and reverse what is actually useful for players.
Kinda funny, anything done in error or on purpose that has a negative effect on your player base often takes weeks, if not months, to reverse and remedy.
Also, are you going to reimburse those players who raided, either remotely or in person, at the Gyms you plan to remove? Some us of play for those gold Gym badges you know. Any raid passes spent on raiding there will be somewhat wasted.
So, what about the waypoints that did follow rules at the time of nomination and acceptance, but will no longer follow the rules most likely after they "fix" this? I'm specifically referring to POI that are less than 20 meters from another POI, but were in an empty cell when they were nominated, so they appeared on the gameboard even before this bug occurred. Losing those would be really upsetting to my community, and to me because I spent dozens of hours researching, nominating, and reviewing like crazy to get them accepted. I hope the "fix" is an actual fix for only the bugged stops and does not retroactively take away legitimate POI.
For those cussing out Niantic listen, the tweet and this post from Niantic are referring to new stops that shouldn't have been created possibly more recently. I doubt they'll takeaway any gym that was previously a PokeStop if it doesn't interfere with anything. Like there is a PokeStop not far from a pharmacy that only recently became a gym last week. I'm sure it wouldn't violate the rules assist was probably getting recommendations for it to become a PokeStop. As it's a good enough distance away from another gym. My recommendation for Niantic is to create an icon system for such situations where people can see when they tap the pokestop and see if it's being reviewed under suspicion of a minor bug or what have you.
How are those raids void if the gyms are removed? You got your chance at a pokemon, XP and all. Nothing to return there.
You should never assume that wayspots are forever. That is something Niantic has never promised. You can of course play under that assumption, but be prepared to get disappointed if it doesn't always go by that way.
I do not know for sure because these are crazy times but I think these would still fit into pogo’s game board density rules and would therefore remain?
So a gym that was edited to be placed precisely on the park sign that it depicts gets put back to the original location, which wasn't on the park sign and is demoted into a stop. makes sense.

I don‘t know why Niantic hates the own community so much…

Not really. They talked about it a lot when they changed the algorithm to prevent the massive location edit abuse. It's never been a secret.

This isn't even the worst thing Niantic is doing this week...

I am sure this got debated a lot and the thread was closed with good reason.
Because this goes against their own anti cheat measure algorithm. They can't let the fault ones stay without opening up for the abuse again.
Stop being silly with calling on other employees just because this one doesn't say what you want to hear. Casey and at least one other doesn't even work there anymore.
I'm sorry, but I have been unable to find that info in the Niantic's support pages. Are you sure that they are correct?
That's why I've asked @NianticTintino-ING to explain us which rules he is talking about.

Upgrade doesn't = rejection, not at all.
You went through this already and already had a comment from Niantic.
Enough now.
Watch them mess up and force the rules and have older gyms/stops removed too, not just the new ones
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
I don't even know why I'm reviewing anymore, these 🤡s don't deserve it
ingress players should not even care if there is more gyms/pokestops in pogo

they should fix "quick catch" glitch ASAP quick catching is a glitch anybody that uses this is cheating.
What worries me is I know I have a few stops near me that have always broke the rules as been put into the right cell
terrified when this is run tonight these will also be removed

What about the members of the "Task force"? 🙄
They will not say or do anything? Are they all going to quit today? Honestly, what is its function? 😒
Oh, we know. We just want Niantic to say it
