You can see rejection reasons of your nominations in Wayfarer now

Just appeared. You can see two reasons why your nomination got rejected.
For those who first haven't received any rejection reasons from the mails, this "feature" will now tell you why some nominations got rejected.
Also, you can filter for Niantic reviews now:
Comments
And if you go back to old, pre-Wayfarer submissions, it shows rejection reasons for those, too, which is actually really interesting to me for a few of them that were real head-scratchers.
Yup, I'm seeing it too now (in addition to everything that was in voting now showing back "in queue".
Also lol, one of my rejected ones says "reject.reason.not_found.short"
If they are rejected in 2019 or newer. Rejections from 2018 and before don't show any reason.
The cutoff seems to be around the middle of 2018. There's a range where only some have reasons and then before that none at all.
Do submissions from 2019 that were from before September show reasons? I ask, because that's when they started requiring them for 1* votes. My earliest is September and has a reason, so I'm quite curious.
I did not check all my nominations. But those with rejection reasons where rejected Jan 2019 or later. The oldest without a reason was from June 2018.
I think, I should look at the emails first, and then in Wayfarer to finde the cutoff.
If it was rejected by "Niantic review decision" then it does not show up as such. It still just says rejected without the additional information like if regular reviewers reject.
Hm, so the nominations that were in voting, but now "back in queue" must be in voting still, because attempting to edit them results in "Invalid record."
They are. The "Im Quere " is just a visual glitch, the console says "Voting"
Cool, makes sense.
@NianticTintino-ING,
Will Niantic consider a global rebalance to deal with Pokestops and gyms that were cheated into the system pre-April 2020?
Not really the right thread for this. There 's plenty of other ones going on for this idea, though.
Heh, that's what I get for having mutiple tabs open. 😓
The oldest one that I can find with a rejection reason was submitted 2015-02-27 and was rejected 2018-10-01.
I also a few that have internal text: reject.reason.opr_uniqueness.short, reject.reason.opr_location.short, reject.reason.opr_cultural.short.
Not sure if this is the best place to post but I also didn't want to open a new thread if it is a simple answer. I had one of my nomination in "in voting" until today where it is now back to "in queue" does this have any significant meaning? I used thr filters and it does not seem to have been rejected. Any insight?
I did the same thing... multiple times.
It's a visual glitch that Niantic hasn't acknowledged, yet, but nominations still did seem to be in voting.
https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/25369/all-nominations-showing-in-queue#latest
reject.reason.opr_uniqueness.short, , reject.reason.opr_cultural.short.
That's the text people have reported being associated with "not visually unique" and "not culturally significant" rejections.
reject.reason.opr_location.short
I suspect that's associated with the location confirmation vote (not a 1* overall with a location mismatch reason).
Were these nominations with something similar nearby that they could have been duplicated to?
@Gendgi-PGO The one with reject.reason.opr_location.short was indoors, and yes it seems likely that it's associated with a low star rating for location. The email associated with was the generic one with no rejection reasons. It starts with, "We've reviewed your Portal submission and given the information you've provided in your submission, we have decided not to accept this candidate", and then includes some common reasons why things are rejected.
I also just found reject.reason.opr_safety.short, which seems pretty obvious.
Yes, the standard REDACTED email rejection.
What I was directly curious about was how your nominations got rejected for being "associated with a low star rating" for the cultural & visual ratings.
I found two from mine:
reject.reason.opr_cultural.short
reject.reason.opr_uniqueness.short
They were from the same target submitted twice and rejected both times. Normally it would be a 100% surefire candidate but I suspect a nearby potential mistaken dublicate might be the reason why it was rejected - or the reviewers simply think that other similar waypoints nearby lowered the ratings for these values - which they shouldn't.
So either reviewers don't know what they're doing and are thus giving low ratings, or there wasn't enough dublicate votes and thus the low rank votes started to count, or something.
Either way, I think it's clear the low rank votes are actually to blame. Both were standalone too, no "other rejection criteria" in addition to it.
It looks like you can only see them once, though. I saw one, closed it, decided I wanted a screenshot and went back, and the reasons were gone.
The other ones are still there, the glitched ones seem to have been removed for now. They are potentially working on a fix.
Incidentally, the primary reason on almost all of mine is either “rejection reason” or “other rejection reason,” so hindsight is definitely 20/20 when it comes to why it took me so long to learn from my mistakes.
No, all of them that I looked at once before are no longer showing.
Ah. I logged out just now and logged back in, and they're all visible again, even the glitched ones.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Today I learned that a lovely, life-sized outdoor marble statue of Mary at a beautiful Catholic Church had been rejected solely for reject.reason.opr_cultural.short
Nothing similar in the immediate vicinity, although there are statues of Jesus and St. Francis on the grounds, too. I can’t remember their approval statuses when this one was rejected.
Interesting. It stings a little looking back at random rejection reasons lol
What's also interesting is, that the first "." rejected nominations really had rejection reasons and they haven't gotten reviewed by Niantic:
(that's the German equivalent to the ".")
