That seems a very beautiful piece of art !
Unfortunately, as you know, with Niantic decisions, we don't know why they rejected.
I hope you have a better luck next time (with reviewers decision ^^).
As I can see, the only possible adds to this one can be the name of the art installation, the name of the artist. In your supplementaries infos, try to find when and why it was put here (newspaper, link, etc)
Does it appear in street view ?
The new building is not yet visible on Streetview (it opened this September), but the foundations are on the sattelite view. Therefore I showed the buildings that are closeby and on Streetview on the supporting image, together with the artwork, as a verification for the location.
Ok, that can explain part of the rejection.
If you resubmit (I hope you do) you can include links like this one, about the place, which clearly show the art installation and the building.

Ah great, you found it! I was looking for something that spoke about it, but couldn't find it yet. Thanks a lot!
If this was rejected because of Niantic reviewers, you can appeal it here instead of resubmit.
Maybe put the screenshot of rejection email you got and let @NianticGiffard look into this.
I agree that getting a second set of eyes in this forum would be better than a resubmission. The image is a little hard to decipher (I think that’s the nature of this installation) but it’s clearly unique and engaging.
Any time you’re nominating in an area that’s new, you should state the date of when it was developed, make sure to get plenty of context in the supporting images, and consider uploading a photosphere to Google Maps.
EDIT: replaced the starred-out “make 0ut” with “decipher”
Oh this is cool! I clicked through @VladDraco-PGO ’s link to an article solely about the sculpture. (https://www.resource-online.nl/index.php/2021/09/30/golvend-kunstwerk-voor-aurora/) I’m using Google translate so forgive me if I’m a bit off with words but it says that much of the material is scrap metal the artist found behind the construction site. Then it talks about the meaning behind it and it has something to do with the food industry and ‘wetsnschap’ which Google translate is giving me ‘science’ for which I don’t think is the optimum translation here.
Thank you for your response, that also could work of course. Well, here is the rejection email at least
Yeah, I also looked through that myself, it's a very helpful website about the artwork.
It's a nice submission, but the artwork doesn't really stand out, not much contrast with the buildings in the background.
What does it look like if you take a picture from the other side? Picture in the linked page already looks better (but you cannot use that one)
If you have a better view standing on the other side I'd resubmit with a better image
I get what you mean, but I don't see how that would get a rejection by a Niantic decision, instead of a normal reviewer system, as it is perfectly visible, just doesn't stand out the best way.
As adviced by @patsufredo-PGO above, apparently I could ask for a re-review by tagging you, @NianticGiffard , for which a separate pair of eyes could give clarification.
This nomination was not reviewed by Niantic but by the player community.
Please resubmit the nomination by improving its title/description if you feel that it was a valid nomination.
The screenshotted email says “Niantic review decision”?
You're correct, I saw that. However, it wasn't reviewed by Niantic as I got it confirmed by my team.
Once, I told somebody I didn't review one of their nominations because I didn't want them to know I rejected it.
So what you're saying is either the screenshot of the rejection email is fake, or the rejection reason "Niantic Review Decision" can be triggered by means other than Niantic rejecting a nomination themselves? If you're claiming it's the latter, then it looks like you have a problem, as I would hope it should normally be impossible for that reason to be triggered by regular Wayfarer reviewers. Maybe you need to do some investigating @NianticGiffard.
Maybe they have 3 possibilities like us, accept, reject or ignore then it goes to the reviewers.
But that seems unlikely. Waiting too for the explanation !
Uuuuh, it had the Niantic Balloon in the voting phase, and everything. It got through the entire voting process within one day. That doesn't happen with normal nominations, so I have to doubt that it went through the normal process.
I agree, this was a strange case indeed. The team had this checked multiple times however couldn't determine the rejection from our staff. This might have happened due to some technical difficulties.
Having said that, they have decided to overturn the decision now and approve the nomination.
I think you guys need to investigate it better. There has been a lot of complaints in the last days about (mass)rejections from Niantic. If it's some kind of bug that rejected submissions without anyone reviewing them, you guys should look into all the submissions that were marked as rejected by Niantic in the last days...
Shouldn't this be filed into known issues?
This was later identified rejected by our own staff. As I said before, could have happened due to a technical hitch during that time.
Regarding false rejections from Niantic, I have shared the feedback with the concerned team.
