Trail marker

It's a trail marker. It has the trails name on it.
I didn't expect it to get accepted and only submitted this as a test (where I live ALL trail markers get rejected, even the ones that look more impressive than this one) but generally speaking this meats the criterea I guess.

As long as the trail marker lists the name of the trail, is publicly accessible, and is marked in the proper location, it meets the criteria and should pass, assuming the title and description both meet the standard.
Yeah I know. Not in germany though.
For whatever reason, many people generally have trouble getting trailmarkers approved. Some people just don't realize they are valid, and so they can take a couple of nomination attempts.
If you can get one approved in the area where are multiple, there is a high chance the others will follow soon after. Because reviewers then see the already existing one, and use that to also pass the next ones. So the first one is troublesome, the ones after can go pretty easily.
If you try again, in the supporting info section refer reviewers to the September 2020 AMA now listed in help that specifically states:
"How should we determine which trail markers are eligible and which are ineligible?
As long as the marker represents a trail it should be accepted. It should be something that is on the path of the trail, helps people find the path, has the trail name and is permanent. If it seems like the marker is temporary or is fake or placed just to get a Wayspot in place, reviewers can mark it as abuse for further review."
Funny you mention that because I did exactly that
Reviewers in germany don't even read the AMA's
I'll post it here too.
Niantics example:
My submission:
Anyone who can tell me with a straight face that those two aren't virtually the same thing?
The only thing I can say for that last one, is to zoom in a little bit more, so the trail name is a bit easier to read.
Just for curiosity, what was the rest of the details of the sub ? Whilst I dont doubt you that trail markers in your area are difficult to get approved, I was wondering if there was anything else in the submission which may be causing reviewers to 1* it.
Not to my knwoledge.
Title and description contain nothing inappropriate in my opinion.
Supporting info is just a reference to the AMA:
Supporting photo included street signs so the location should have been very easy to spot. (You can see it in the first post I made. That one on the top right corner was included in the supporting photo)
I honestly can't see anything wrong when it comes to the general quality of this submission. I also submitted 4 of these trail markers to rule out the possibility that any single rejection was just bad luck. This is systematic.
I would have voted in favor of it, but at the same time I can't help wondering, what has happened to Europe's awesome trail markers!! I used to enjoy hiking in Germany back in the 80's and the trail markers were really works of art!! Now they are just mundane little posts. I know there are plenty of Europeans that will say that trail markers in the United States are nothing to brag about, and that's true, but ours never were! Trails in Europe were one of my favorite things about Europe! They probably still are, but a little bit less so!
Trust me it doesn't matter if they look good or not. There are enough examples for great looking trail markers being rejected as well. (Just have a look at my post about this in the general discussions. You will find a couple examples there)
That being said, I submitted these trail markers as a test. I didn't expect them to get accepted the goal was to show that reviewers here don't care about the rules. I wanted to prove a point and given the fact that nobody has been able to explain to me what is wrong with my submission so far, I consider myself successful :)
This is so odd to me! In my area of the US, trail markers (that meet criteria, named trails) are easy acceptances. I tend to only submit the trailheads though so maybe that helps.
It's not even the wayspot density. I live in a rural area with a relatively low density and the few eligible points that would make the games a little more playable get rejected. No wonder there are so many fakes in germany because those are easier to get through the system than any trail marker.
I am from Germany and I vote in favour of trailmarkers, if they have a name on it and if the name is mentoined in the title.
One thing you could do to improve your nomination is a link in the additional information to the actual route. Sometimes you can even find route descriptions which inform about the landmarks and the sights on the route
The trail has a website but in my expirience links in the additional information don't really increase your chances. I did refer to the AMA in the supporting statements of all 4 submitted trail markers but I doubt a lot of reviewers have read it.
That's really sad. The first thing that I did when I made Level 40 was to nominate the trail markers on the trail that I like to hike on. Every one of them got accepted, plus some additional POI's that I nominated along the trail got accepted. I'm sorry that you didn't get the same result. It has been kind of awesome to see a trail that had no Pokestops or Gyms at all suddenly become a popular place for groups to take part in raid hours and community days.
You have probably seen the Invalid Wayspot Appeals Section being flooded with fake POI from germany over the past weeks. The german reviewer base is completely incompetent and Cities with 60-100 Fakes are not uncommon. Broken beyond repair.
Ok so this was unexpected.
One actually got accepted on the third attempt. Still not a great yield overall with 7 rejected and one accepted but now at least I know that it's technically possible to get them accepted. Good to know.
Here in belgium it is hard too i think it's everywhere hard for example i put this as a nomination even i was sure it won't be in the game i wanted to test it
The sign says wandeling Doode Bemde means walk Doode Bemde and Doode Bemde is a nature reserve and it gots an arrow pointing where the trail is going to so in general it is hard
I don't get why niantic just say every marker or no marker and not if it has a name if it has this because then you get situations where people don't get what's good or not
Btw funny enough i think i reviewed one of yours if you are from nordhorn?
That was someone else's submission. Same trail though. (Reviewed it myself ^^)
A year later and I actually got the trail marker from my first post accepted. Problem remains largely the same though. Rejection reasons are still mostly insane.
