Can't submit remotely ( not even 1 metre away) , since location bounces back on both ios/android os

bug first experienced approx . 6 days ago on BOTH iOS & Android devices on Pokémon Go app
Explanation: since the 19th November (approx) remote submissions (nominations) error out & location chosen on map jumps back to current location , even something inches away (it was working fine before the 19th November) goes back to current location . Before the 19th we could submit something many kilometres away without any problem .
This problem started since the moment we started choosing location on map with 2 fingers instead of 1 . Navigating the location picker with 1 finger worked perfectly but around the 19th Nov remote nominations dont work , the nomination is practically wasted if the location is so far off !
bug experienced by lots of folks :
for eg 2 reddit posts below.

I can confirm I had the same bug right now. Luckily I managed to see that the location marker had jumped back to my current location. Hopefully this bug is considered soon and fixed.
More info: Tried to submit through ingress, the location was only about 3-4 km away.
I have the same bug. I also noticed on Ingress that the location marker goes back to current location on the review screen before getting to the supporting information screen when nominating.
Please fix this soon.
Reported this on the main forum too, a few days back. You might want to post there as well, if you haven't yet.
@NianticGiffard
This thread has been flagged as "investigating," which means at least somebody on the Niantic team has seen it.
aha thanks btw where does it show 'investigating' ?
It would be nice if they'd comment when these get marked so we'd know if it's something to expect being fixed sooner or later.
thank you for attaching pic
can u submit on ingress ?
Could you please give us an update on that @NianticGiffard @Danbocat-PGO? Many players have been mostly excluded from nominating anything for almost three weeks now. It doesn't seem to be related to specific versions of games and the phone OS, or the app. At this point, it looks more like some infamous and failed Niantic A/B testing, which enabled the updated "check all nearby Wayspots view" for some players, but completely broke the way you set your location for the rest.
Oh I meant to say I came across the bug in ingress. So I couldnt do it in Ingress.
Hi everyone! We have recently attempted a fix for this issue, please keep me posted if the issue persists for you guys.
My remote submission is working now! It was rubberbanding in Ingress before but it seems to be fixed for me
Nope, unfortunately, my position still keeps resetting, no matter what. I'm in Pokemon GO, I need to move the map with two fingers and I don't see any nearby Wayspots.
Excellent. Thanks for fixing and the heads up!
The fix is working for me as remote submission are no longer bouncing back to current location. Thank you
No its not working for me on Android
On Android ( Pokémon go app) still can't do submission remotely
Now that it's resolved in Ingress, could you please do the same for Pokemon GO? @NianticGiffard
We're still stuck at the wrong map view, which looks like this and just doesn't save anything, no matter what you pick:
Is there anybody out there? @NianticGiffard I can't make normal submissions for almost a month due to this. I guess my contributions aren't wanted anymore and everything is working as intended, right?
i made another bug report , https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/26739/location-2-finger-scrolling-bug-is-back-on-both-ios-droid-regarding-remote-submissions-in-pogo#latest
ill try th mods , but idk which mods are active & which arent these days
@NianticTintino-ING Hi ! the bug reappeared for some of us folks inside 2 days , in pogo for me personally (both android / iphone )
the bug is connected to the '2 finger scroll'
Hi everyone! We have attempted another fix for this issue recently, please check and let us know if it helped.
Nope, everything is the same. I still can't save the set location and I can't see nearby Wayspots either.
Could you please reach out to our in-app support? We'll look into it closely.
Your team already had one month to look into this closely, while I haven't been able to submit anything properly since. Why would this make a difference?Well, anyway, I've been able to fix it myself. Credits go to Azuryu. I already suspected it may be a problem related to my version of Google Maps and Chrome, so I kept updating them, but apparently, there has been a problem with Android WebView since the nomination map was changed by Niantic. It works after an update.
I can confirm that resetting Android WebView seemingly resolved that issue for now. I still have the "use two fingers" view but the selected location does not reset anymore. The idea came from a thread at Google support about performance issues on Pixel, where it was suggested that a recent update of the Android System WebView had a bug. This information might help you to resolve the issue from your side at Niantic. Unfortunately I can't find the thread I'm referring to right now. Seems like affected players can try to resolve it by themselves by just completely resetting the Android System WebView app and re-updating it.
yes & no @NianticGiffard
worked on android upon updating the webview app
BUT on iphone still not working
Oh wow, wish I saw this thread earlier. Went out with a couple of friends over the past few days (27th and 28th of Dec), and all 3 of us now have stuff submitted in the wrong spot (via PoGo). Friend #1 noticed their submission location was way off when they went in to edit the description and supporting statement, luckily for them, their submission was still in queue and could withdraw.
Friend #2 (on iPhone) now has a couple of things in voting that are completely in the wrong spot by over 10 metres, whereas I have something in voting that's in the wrong spot by a couple of metres. It would be nice if we could withdraw things that are in voting, but no, we can't...
The two of us on Android tried to reset Android System Webview, no dice here (Pixel 3a and Realme 7 5G). I'm on Android 10, my only option to upgrade is to go to Android 12 and I don't want to do that, so hopefully Niantic can resolve this soon.
This is going to be really annoying for reviewers having to reject so many things for mismatched location. It's also not great for submitters like my friends and I who hiked for hours up a mountain to have our submissions put in the wrong spot.
wow thanks for sharing thats really really terrible for wasted submissons at completely different location , please let me know if you find a fix for android !
