Basically as asked, are football pitches that ar reopen to public use but on school property, or at the edges edge of school property, allowed?

Short answer on school property no. On the edge as long as its primary use isnt by the school then yes.
@Dazzz12345-ING define primary use, one of the ones I'm thinking of gets used at break, lunch and a couple of classes a week but after school (and even during so long as no one from the school is using) it's for use of anyone
If the property is a K-12 School regardless of whether the city has a dual use agreement of some sort or not that space is not eligible.
If the land is owned by the school or if classes are taken on it I'd say no but would need to see it on a map or the nomination to see how close it is. All the info on k12 is in the guidelines.
@AgentB0ss-ING cool, was just making sure, thought an edge of it number might have been acceptable but I'll not push it then
This is one I've struggled with a fair bit. Many schools (around here, anyway) have their field "connected" (ie. no fence line) with another facility's field - most often a community center. I have not been able to readily determine the actual property boundary. Other school fields may be in the same green space as, say, a tree area (grove? really small forest - like 100-ish trees?) which includes signage indicating community property, but again, the actual property boundary is not defined, and it's not clear if the athletic fields between these belong to the school or the community.
This is also true for a number of approved portals I've seen; personally, I think they're too close to a school, but they do fall into the same "grey area" as what I've mentioned above. I don't want to request their removal if they're actually legit.
