Massive abuse in Nikko City
I had been seeing suspicious submissions in the area for some time. And this time I investigated the area.
・Three false spots
Title of the Wayspot:安全祈願の石碑
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741813,139.557174&z=17&pll=36.741813,139.557174
Title of the Wayspot:丹勢の地蔵
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741449,139.557389&z=17&pll=36.741449,139.557389
These two are photographed in front of me.
As you can see, they are fakes that don't exist.
We don't know where the images were stolen from, but as for the safety monument, the spotlight photo shows a factory behind it, which suggests that it is on the premises of the killer's workplace, which will be discussed later.
Title of the Wayspot:石輪のオブジェ
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741162,139.557017&z=17&pll=36.741162,139.557017
It is not in my purview to approach directly above this spot. However, I clearly know where the image was stolen from.
Title of the Wayspot:光林荘のオブジェ
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.729771,139.555593&z=17&pll=36.729771,139.555593
If you compare the photos, you will see that they are exactly the same. This is the correct spot and the photo has been taken. It seems that they duplicated the fake one from here and placed it in a convenient spot for themselves.
I have found the above three places in my review and reported them via Google Forms, but it didn't seem to have any effect.
・Other places of interest
Title of the Wayspot:星野家日本庭園
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.739576,139.552882&z=17&pll=36.739576,139.552882
As you can see in the photo, the garden of a private home is the spot.
There is nothing on site to support the description, it is really just a private home.
Title of the Wayspot:黒い石碑
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.735135,139.555617&z=17&pll=36.735135,139.555617
The location is behind the main gate of the elementary school. In other words, it is on the grounds of K12.
Title of the Wayspot:清滝郵便局
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.737241,139.557137&z=17&pll=36.737241,139.557137
Title of the Wayspot:清滝出張所
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.736236,139.556993&z=17&pll=36.736236,139.556993
These two are not unauthorized spots, but since they are in the same area, they are listed in passing. (I'm troubled by the fact that I haven't received any e-mails about the results of my removal requests lately!)
The post office is not located at the spot. Only the building remains as a trace.
And if you look at the location of the sub-branch, you will see that the post office has been built there. Since the sub-branch was demolished and a new post office was built, the spot should also remove the sub-branch and move the post office to the location of the sub-branch.
Title of the Wayspot:親子像
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.737786,139.555259&z=17&pll=36.737786,139.555259
This is another place I can't enter with my authority, so I can only explain it from spot photos and aerial photos, but it seems to be in a pond and you can't walk to it. It exists out of alignment.
However, this is a spot that has existed for a long time, and the person who made the fake one seems to have just added the photo later. The two nearby spots were applied for by the fake person.
And here are three that were only eliminated in Pokémon GO. This pattern is usually the result of landowners requesting removal due to internal incidents. This suggests that the person who created the fake was someone who had access to the site, had problems with it, had it removed, and then recreated it in a convenient location for himself.
・About the Applicant
Arrange the images of the surrounding spots, including the spot above.
There are similar names on the list.
So I took a look at the Pokémon placed in gyms and the lure modules I happened to find.
There are even more similar names in the list.
Here is a list of at least the ones I have seen.
yangwoofaye
YangWoofaye11
wangwoofaye3
wangwoofaye4
yangwoofaye005
LiWoofaye3
LiWoofaye4
greeceWoofaye2
hangWoofaye2
europawoofaye
changwoofaye3
changwoofaye4
asiawoofaye
spainwoofaye
If you guess from the number at the end of the word, it looks like there are more. With this many multi-accounts, it would be possible to get any fake one approved.
We will have to work with the Pokemon GO management team on this issue and also look into the activity records of players in this district.
How many accounts are there with the name "woofaye"?
And are they illegally getting their spots approved?
If we don't investigate and punish all of them, this area will be filled with fakes and we will lose the wayfarer philosophy.
Thanks for asking.
Comments
I will write new information about the spot I reported.
Title of the Wayspot:星野家日本庭園
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.739576,139.552882&z=17&pll=36.739576,139.552882
I confirmed that this spot has been removed, but it has been applied for again. Based on the writing habits of the supplementary information, we can assume that it is the same culprit. Please remove it.
Title of the Wayspot:石輪のオブジェ
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741162,139.557017&z=17&pll=36.741162,139.557017
We have confirmed the deletion of this one as well, but then we discovered during the review process that it was approved again under a different title.
The photo used is the same as the one from the spot that was removed. Needless to say, this is a fake.
Also, the fact that they approved a fake twice in the same spot should be punished, as well as the judge who approved it, based on past cases.
Title of the Wayspot:丹勢の地蔵
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741449,139.557389&z=17&pll=36.741449,139.557389
There are two photos of Jizo in this spot, and I found out where one of them stole the image from, although it is a tabletop research.
Title of the Wayspot:道路沿いの名もないお地蔵様
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741673,139.563765&z=17&pll=36.741673,139.563765
It will be easier to understand if you compare it to a Street View image. They are exactly the same. It seems that they took a picture here and had their home approved as a fake.
We are continuing to look into the original location of the stolen image, which is still unknown, in the interim.
Thank you for your patience.
Title of the Wayspot:ストーンリング
location:https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=36.741184,139.557099&z=17&pll=36.741184,139.557099
It appeared on the Intel map and I'll link to it.
As you can see, they used the exact same photo as the one that was removed as a fake, and resurrected it in just three days.
The perpetrator seems to have a personality that needs to dominate the region, and images have been found where he seems to have more than six accounts for each of the three Pokémon GO factions.
(We've found his Twitter account, but we'll keep it under wraps for now.)
This would make it impossible to gather players from the region to fraudulently manipulate the screening results and get them approved. We believe that he has enough accounts to be able to fraudulently get them approved by himself.
Next, regarding the “安全祈願の碑”, I will show you where I think the image was stolen from.
From the spot image, the red arrows indicate white billboards, the green arrows indicate trees, and the blue arrows indicate the factory in the background.
I'll let you compare it to the aerial photo. We should be able to say that the shapes are the same, especially the factory in the background shown in blue.
It would be nice to have a photo of the site, but of course I am not a member of Furukawa Electric, so I can't enter. This is the limit of my investigation, but I present it as the original basis for stealing the image.
Hi, @NianticGiffard , @Markov2097-ING .
I also received this review today.
This applicant is desperate because the Wayspot he created in his private home has been deleted and he wants to get back on
It seems that the applicant is desperately trying to create a Wayspot in this private home again.
In Japanese, the term "星野家日本庭園" means "the Japanese style garden in Mr. Hoshino's house".
The following URL shows news reported by ANN, a Japanese television station.
The text says: "This garden, as the name suggests, is the private home of Mr. Hoshino."
It is introduced as.
DeepL:
Giffard ,May I ask you to investigate this Wayfinder?
This a clear case of abuse and dedication. I applaud your detective skills!
We have reviewed the report and have taken action on 6 Wayspots and 5 Wayfinders in accordance with our policies. While we are unable to discuss our actions in detail to protect the submitter’s privacy, they may include, but are not limited to, sending a warning message, placing restrictions on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO, or Ingress account, putting their account on probation, or placing a temporary or permanent suspension on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO or Ingress account.
Due to insufficient evidence, we’re unable to take action on 2 Pokéstops with the title 清滝郵便局 and 清滝出張所 in question. If you have additional evidence to share, please submit a geotagged image and a 360° video of the POI original location and we’ll take another look.
Hi, @NianticGiffard .
I am grateful to you for the way you have dealt with this.
However, I would like to inform you that today(18 December) four days later, I have received this application again with the same photo.
It is clear that this is from the same applicant, as the photo and message used are exactly the same.
Is this application from the same account as the one you corresponded with?
Hi, @NianticGiffard ,@Markov2097-ING .
It seems that the same applicant who was punished has started to apply again.
for one of the Wayspots that was the subject of the action taken by Giffard.
Please have a look at the following image.
This is the one I reviewed today (19th Dec).
And above all, the man pointing at the supplementary information.
This Wayfinder is unique in that it posts a picture of a man pointing his finger in the supplementary information.
Is it possible that more than one Wayfarer account has submitted a supplementary information photo of a person with the same finger?
