In-Game Rewards For Getting Featured Wayspot?

I resubmitted the rugby pitch from the below topic and it became a "featured Wayspot", which got me thinking. Would giving game rewards for becoming a featured Wayspot incentivise people to become more involved in Wayfarer? Thus encouraging them to take more care when nominating?
I'm throwing ideas out there. Something has to be done to get people more engaged. What do you think?

its an interesting idea, or maybe having a featured wayspot is a reward in its own right.
Nope, the showcase system is not based on who submitted good stuff. Its based on S2 cells. So it doesnt support good work but supports who has the best location for a cell.
I was in the showcase once when I was in holidays. But never again since then.
A friend always has one or more nomination in my showcase, because he submits right in the low right corner of my lvl 6 S2 cell
So it would not be a good idea as long as the system works how it does currently.
The system did change. More recently until this Cupid- spider fault it was showing me ones that were from different locations. Whether it was still using an algorithm but over different cell sizes and a separate one for each shown I don’t know.
Might be true. However, it will never be a "the best nomination is getting displayed" System. The system is automatic and will therefore never be able to decide whats good or whats bad. Propably find a lot of Mainstream stuff because its known for getting approved more easy than interesting, often badly clarified stuff.
Presumably it's location based and at least partially random although it's possible they only choose things that meet some bar that's higher than the default score approval.
The Showcase should only show nominations that got 5* (or close to it) in every category. But we don't have a common understanding of what 5* for Cultural / Historical means. Or visual, for that matter.
It would be fun if Showcase pictures could be part of our Exploring, by showing landmarks around the world. Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Sydney Opera House, etc. Not necessarily THAT famous, but interesting things all over the world.
Objection.
This is on the showcase, although there is a typo at only one character (try to guess which one), so its Title/Description category rating might be lower than 5*.
The selection could be the same as before (and ofc before Cupid's Span issue), after all.
