I have had a pokestop that has been accepted not appear in Pokémon go and it was accepted on January the 13th and it still has not appeared in Pokémon go but it is in ingress .

Not all approved wayspots will appear in Pokemon Go due the game's density rules
- Is it inside 20m radius of nearby Pokestop/Gym?
- Is the level 17 cell occupied?
So what should I do resubmit pokestop and try again
Resubmitting an accepted wayspot will just end up with multiple Duplicate reports.
20m doesn't matter for pokestops anymore (might not matter for portals either, having a wee test of that just now).
Return to that location and try to create new Pokestop, but stop while the screen shows you nearby Map. It should shows nearby Wayspots including those which don't appear in either GO or Ingress. You should know your approved Wayspot status by this way.
Or, can you at least provide your nomination details (its title and location)? Perhaps anyone can check the Wayspot via Ingress Intel Map.
So I just went and checked the pokestop location and it says it’s only in ingress how should i appraoch this as I only nominated it to be played in Pokémon go
You are yet another victim of Niantic's poor wording. You were not nominating a PokeStop (even tho it said you were). You nominated a Waypoint for Niantic's Lightship database. PokemonGo doesn't use every waypoint for PokeStops.
So should I take it down and repost to try again as it Is a great place in the community
You can't take it down.
Find something else to nominate. There's a lot of interesting stuff out there.
kinda contradict when 99.9999999999..infinite...999999% of submissions are thanks to pogo
Depends where you are. Locally, all the submissions have been through myself on Ingress before Pokémon GO had the option to nominate.
Don't over exaggerate so grossly. Probably 4 out of 5 successful nominations are from Pokemon GO. But neither of us have access to the actual numbers.
First, read how to check S2 cells and how it affects Pokestops. You're not the first nor the last victim of Niantic's (by now safe to say, purposefully) misleading nomination process.

Second, it's in Niantic's database (Lightship) now and you can't do much about it if the Wayspots are in correct places. If the Wayspot(s) are in wrong location and moving it/those changes the L17 cell situation, you might have shot.
Good (better) luck for your future nominations.
Maybe successful new nominations, but there were a fair amount of waypoints in game long before Pokemon Go got a chance to nominate. Those numbers were enough to get thousands upon thousands of trainers up to Level 40, or Level 38, so that they could nominate when Pokemon Go nominations opened - so you could say that all those nominations at the start were thanks to Ingress submissions or the initial seeded portals.
