This portal was submitted after it was closed and fenced off, grass is 3 feet high

This Fielders baseball field has been fenced off for more than 2 years, in the SAT photo you can see the 6' construction fence around the park. The portal was submitted in the wrong place to use as an anchor because you cant get inside. In the submitted picture you can see the grass is out of control.

GOOGLE EARTH shows it completely fenced in as well, you can use it to walk the perimeter and see is fenced in
Appeal Accepted - Thanks for the appeal, Agent. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
@NianticGiffard this is a shady appeal. The three feet of grass that is spoken about is on the outside of the baseball field in the picture yet in the winter pictures the grass is maintained. @bgskyman-ING talk about it being mis marked on the map due to access yet he has resonators deployed in his submission. I have never seen this portal used as an anchor in the limited time that it has been in my area. Yet again someone who doesn't live in the area and removes portals in a resistance played area. I don't see any appeals for portals in his AO, I've seen some shady ones in the area he plays in regularly. I just don't have the same amount of time to make the trips as he can.
Yeah, IDK why he has the Ingress details posted... And this one is a super stretch along with the "fountain" post... These are super coming across as abuse removals because he doesn't like them being there and it's messing up his strategies in ingress. Just because it's "seasonal". That's not a reason for removal and that's not THE reason for the appeal.
@TrevorAlan-PGO SEASONAL is a reason for denial, meaning it should not have been approved in the 1st place, a POGO player wouldn't really know or care, but ingress players do!
"seasonal" in air quotes. A sports field isn't "seasonal", it's not a temporary display. Entire tourist areas/towns/amenities are shut down in the winter because thats what happens. Also COVID has shut down things for a while/temporarily. Between this and your fountain appeal its looking like you are just upset that these exist because it messes with your ingress play.
This was closed 3 years before covid and the seasonal was a response to the fountain, and yes if 6 flags here in cold area is closed then it shouldn't be a portal, the option to deny a submission for seasonal should be used all the time, not just when you don't want one approved.. all of them.
You seem to have a massive misunderstanding of the acceptance criteria if you think a location being closed seasonally is grounds for rejection of something in that location. The "seasonal" rejection reason is for things that are not physically present at that location for part of the year. Not for things that are inaccessible to the public for part of the year.
I guess I’ll be making my way to a certain string of fitness station portals that are seasonal 🙂
Also, is Blarney Island open this time of year?
@bgskyman-ING if you have this huge thing on seasonal portals then I would expect to see you take this one down. It's in the middle of a lake and it can be very sketch trying to access it over the past few years, historically you create massive fields over areas with this as an anchor. I will bet that you would not use your removal method for this one, even though this can be a huge safety liability for niantic if someone was to fall through the ice yet it stays up and is considered to be a portal on the network. @NianticGiffard what needs to be done to address these other unsafe seasonal portals
This other portal should be considered to be a seasonal portal. I have almost lost my life trying to get to this portal as lake Michigan sprays water over the rocks and it freezes over. This is controlled by recursion seasoned enlighten players yet @bgskyman-ING has never put and concern on these.
I have had concern for this portal for a very long time, it's unsafe to try to get to during the winter time. What will niantic do if someone falls through the ice trying to take the portal down. It's always used as an anchor and make the game not fun to play as both factions are unavailable to field under them. This is in @bgskyman-ING AO and he says nothing about it, with his concerns about the original appeal in this post. This portal is sometimes taken over by the resistance but I believe it should not exist.
This was reported before. The object remain exist hence it can't be removed.
And being temporary or seasonal isn't a removal reason, but permanently removed is. As for the baseball field, you must provide a legal proof either local news or announcements, whether the field is temporarily or permanently closed (and will be demolished later). If it's temporary closed and will be open later, then it may be restored.
@NianticGiffard Just retired a waypoint based on a baseball field being covered in snow. So a bar in the middle of a lake surely should be retired based on the criteria he used to remove the baseball field. What criteria ARE you using, @NianticGiffard ? And I’d like to know what is being done about all the reports of these waypoint removals being blatant abuse of the removal system.
Hello! The wayspot was removed as the baseball field was closed, not because it is covered in grass or snow.
