Well that's kind of disappointing, my submission that was made in the wrong spot got accepted in the wrong spot, even though it was sorta obvious on satellite view where it should have been if the reviewers zoomed in. The kicker is that I can't move it because I can't move what I can't see in PoGo...
Also just updated my PoGo from 0.225.2 to 0.225.3, makes no difference, but I knew that already as my friends were on 0.225.3.
I generally make submissions in remote areas with less than ideal satellite view so it isn't too obvious on the confirmation screen. 😒
If it's out by more than 10 metres from where it was meant to be, go to the location edit appeals section of the forum and ask for it to be moved and explain what happened. So long as the new (originally intended) location is accurate, they should be willing to fix it for you.
Nah it's out by about 7 metres, if I'm motivated I might find someone with an Ingress account to move it for me.
In fact, I don't even know how/why it's live in Ingress, it's less than 20 metres away from an existing Wayspot. Here's hoping that the system makes it disappear during the next sync. 🤔
So many bugs compounding in the system... While it's not hard to stand at the POI, start the nomination process, then step back and take photos, often GPS still doesn't have me in the right spot and I need to move the marker on the nomination page.
@NianticGiffard what keyword should i use in the in game support ( in-app chat) to discuss about this isssue , it always gives a Remy canned response , i can send video recordings but there is never an insert attachment option
Is there an update on this? I just spent the last 10 minutes walking around in circles hoping my dude would stand on the right spot, no dice. Updated to PoGo 0.227.0 didn't help.
So I ended up working around this - I wasn't going to risk updating to Android 12 so I ended up just downloading and installing the standalone APK for "Android System WebView" (in my case I picked version 97.0.4692.87), cleared app data for good measure and it now works. As an added bonus, existing Wayspots around where I'm trying to nominate now shows up as well.
Hopefully there's a solution out there for iPhone users too.
Apple probably uses a different app for related functions, but I'm not into their systems. It's probably embedded somewhere and more difficult to modify or update than Android WebView.
Anyway, it was clearly the update showing surrounding Wayspots during nomination which caused the problems. I think Niantic should really fix this, since they pushed something which doesn't work well for everyone, and make some sort of announcement with possible problem solutions at least. Of course I don't expect this to happen.
i think its more so related to the 2 finger scroll ( ie now it forces you to use 2 fingers whereas all previous years only 1 fingero was good enough)
@NianticTintino any update for iphone users ?
I had the same issue today. Uploaded eight submissions, two via PoGo and six via Ingress. The ones submitted via PoGo show the location I chose, but all the Ingress ones show the current location I am at. I never had this before, I literally submitted all week and it always worked as it is supposed to. I use an iPhone, if that is important.
Others in local groups are reporting similar issues. Please have a look into this, it is quite annoying to waste nominations that will have to be withdrawn now (or at least give us back the spot of a withdrawn nomination).
I had this issue today. I subbed 3 with the error, and on the fourth one I noticed it. I have withdrawn the 3 incorrect location. I was using Iphone 8, Ingress. 2.89.1. I was able to correctly submit remote portals 3 days ago. I did the most recent update over a week ago, and subbed 3 ok after that.
I can confirm it is not currently working on Iphone. Made a successful submission just 2 days ago.
I am currently experiencing the issue for the first time, using iOS and Ingress.
This issue has now reappeared for Ingress. Luckily I noticed before I submitted the nomination. Won’t bother until it’s fixed.
this bug it’s happening again. It’s very frustrating
I had the rubberbanding bug when it first came out. It was fixed and I could finally remote submit. Now recently, I’m having the exact same rubberbanding issue. It doesn’t matter where I submit, it will rubberband back to my actual location. I’m using Ingress on iOS.
I have also started experiencing this issue in Ingress within the last two days. No matter how many times I pick the correct location, it always reverts back to my current location on the confirmation screen. This was not a problem for two nominations since I was on site (they'll be a few meters off), but two other nominations were placed miles away from their actual locations.
Three days later and I still cannot submit remotely due to this bug.
My Ingress remote location submissions stopped working this past Wednesday (February 9th). Previous submissions on February 8th worked correctly. Starting on February 9, the location pin reverted to my location when the nomination was submitted. My Pokémon Go location pins are still working correctly, though. I use an iPhone 8.
@NianticGiffard check into whatever code y’all worked on between February 8, 11:31pm EST and February 9, 9:30pm EST. That’s when the ingress locations stopped working on my iPhone 8.
Appears fixed for me now.
not for me
iphone 6s and PoGo still has this problem too. (ING not, works normally)
Afaik the problem started to appear, when the 1st reports of fixing this bug for Android aired. IT didnt have the bug, when the first reports about it were out there ...
@NianticGiffard the problem is still out there ....
Hi peeps! This issue was fixed earlier. Those who are still experiencing it, please raise an in-app ticket with the screen recording of the issue and our concerned team will take it up further.
This issue just costed me an upgrade, because no matter how many times I tried to move the placemark, it always went back to the wrong location, and of course the reviewers rejected that. It was only ~50 metres off because I started the nomination process while I was walking to the spot to save time, but that was enough to make it mismatched. So frustrating.
