Obvious fake got accepted
Title of the Wayspot: Football Field
Location: 31.97228,35.868015
City: Amman
Country: Jordan
A simple comparison of the main and supporting photos against the surrounding area on Google Maps is enough to show it's a fake (all of the apartment buildings have mysteriously disappeared...)
It doesn't seem to be live on Ingress yet, I stumbled on it via the duplicates map when reviewing another obvious fake just across the street:
Location: 31.972195,35.868678
Again, all of the surrounding apartment buildings are suddenly gone in the nomination's photos.
This fake is a resubmission as well - it was previously submitted a few meters off, at 31.972048,35.868494, under the title "Um uthaina water tank" (with the exact same photos).
Unfortunately, with the lack of Street View, it's possible the person behind this managed to get more fakes accepted in the area, so it might be worth checking out their nomination history.

Hi @SiIverLyra-PGO, thanks for the report! Could you please share some geotagged photos so we can take action on it?
Excuse my confusion, but -
Copy-pasting here the same photos I've linked in the original post. The photos from the "Football Field" nomination (that got accepted). Lots of trees. Not apartment buildings anywhere in sight.
And now a screenshot of the wayspot's location:
Lots of tall apartment buildings. No vast, open area with lots of trees. Even if there IS a soccer field there, it can't possibly be the same one in the photos.
And looking at the "Water tank" nomination (specifically the supporting photo where more information is available) -
Low structures, no tall apartment buildings. And when you take another look at the coordinates Street View -
Tall buildings everywhere, now way they wouldn't have been visible in the photos.
Can you please clarify why geotagged photos are required in this case?
@NianticGiffard Did this get looked at again, considering the issue of the mysteriously absent apartment buildings that I've explained above?
Although we agree the photo of the Portal might be fake however for us to actually verify whether the reported location consists of the football field or not the images alone won't help in determining the same hence we're requesting geotagged photos.
you should always require it from people who want to delete something. unfortunately this is not the case and people are losing a lot of legitimate gaming portals
I see. And the water tower?
This nomination was already rejected.
