Recurrence of arbitrary manipulation of the Pokémon GO field (attraction of Pokémon gyms)
Hello. @NianticGiffard
This time, I'm going to tell you a story that will disappoint you.
You remember this appeal discussion, don't you?
It's about the arbitrary manipulation of the field by an abusive community after having a fraudulently faked nomination approved.
In this case, you penalized the multi-account that nominated this wayspot, corrected the wayspot's location, and revoked all photos and likes.
The wayspot in question disappeared from Pokémon GO, but somehow came back a few days later. (The wayspot itself was not removed, nor was it merged with the playground equipment of the same cluster that grew right next to it, and the previously reported bug of the wayspot appearing in Pokémon GO after some operation on Ingress has not been resolved.)
Now, I think I have already reported to you that the nominator of the four accounts that were penalized at this time has no remorse for his wrongdoing, and has even threatened to harm me in a fit of rage.
So, I checked the field again the other day and found that the nominator and the community in the area with the intent to abuse are once again attempting to manipulate the field in an arbitrary manner.
As of February 27, 2022, 45 likes again.
The wayfarer team has previously stated that they do not expect this kind of behavior and that it is an action that can be penalized.
https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/68124/#Comment_68124
In addition, there have been a number of clearly unwarranted and low quality reviews in this area, including the following wayspot a few days ago, which you have clearly stated is inappropriate for this area.
Therefore, I would like to request the wayfarer team to do the following
1. complete suspension of Wayfarer reviews for the four accounts of this nominator
2. Completely stop nominating this nominator's game app (but you don't have the authority to stop logging into the game itself, so there's no point in asking)
3. Warning to players who are giving this wayspot a like.
As many wise wayfinders here are aware, the Wayfarer system is on the verge of collapse.
We don't have much time left.
Please rebuild the Wayfarer system and consult with the team in charge of Pokémon GO to get on the right track.
We do not want the field to be destroyed by vicious players.

I havent read your other post (need a tldr lol) but what's wrong with with last stop? I mean, I did speak the language or anything so can't know what it says, so just curious
I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm not sure what you mean by your question.
I'm sorry, but could you be a little more specific about what you're asking?
Also, it would be difficult for a non-native speaker to understand slang like "need a tldr lol".
DeepL isn't that helpful either.
I understand that "LOL" means laughter, but there are many kinds of laughter.
Basically I was asking what's wrong with the pokestop at the end of your post, I don't know what it is so I don't understand why it's not allowed. (Tldr means to long, didnt read)
The last stop just says something like "XX bridge number 5". Basically, all bridges in Japan regardless of size have these name & number plaques on them for identification. It's similar to accepting a street name sign in another country.
Reading the description, it looks like the stop is actually the bridge itself, not the sign. So it's just a generic bridge over a ditch. This feels like something Niantic would leave in, though, since their deletion vs acceptance criteria are sorely unbalanced.
Ah right, fair enough. We have a similar thing on some of our bridges along the canal next to me, some got accepted early days but I doubt they would nowadays (maybe some bridges themselves as listed buildings but thats different)
Oh, I see. So that's what you were inquiring about.
A common bridge does not meet the deletion criteria, but it does follow the disapproval criteria.
At one time, players who broadly interpreted the approval criteria spread fake reasons, such as bridges connect regions to regions, so they meet the requirements for exchange, which led to many such low-quality wayspots.
But this has been explicitly debunked by Giffard.
Since then, such wayspots have largely disappeared, but they can still appear with the complicity of abusive community reviews.
And most recently, this area has been a district where warehouses on private property have appeared as wayspots due to misrepresentation and other reasons, and where playground equipment that should be integrated as the same cluster has been nominated and approved for different cells.
And then there is the fact that the community manipulates the field to turn it into a Pokémon Gym, which can be said to be an area where the majority of players have no understanding of the purpose and intent of wayfarer.
A typical illustration of this I gave as this low quality and junk wayspot that appeared a few days ago.
I hope this helps you understand.
Ah ok, makes sense. I would have said the bridge could have gotten in on just a batch of bad reviewers or reviewers who were a lot more forgiving (ivw seen that happen from time to time, similar to how great nominations can be rejected from bad reviewers) but if its a region this happens a lot in, it probably is abuse
This thread should be in the Invalid Wayspot Appeals Category (not General) https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/removal-appeals
What you are referring to is what I reported in my last wayspot location edit.
This time it is a recurrence of abusive behavior affecting the game field.
Which can range from organized collusion among nominators and reviewers, to multi-account nominations and reviews, to behavior affecting a specific game field.
Essentially, it would be best if there was a report thread in the forum to deal with such complex events.
So that clearer reports could be consolidated.
However, since there is no such place, I am posting it here.
@NianticGiffard
I have an unfortunate story to share with you.
We have one more in this district.
Probably false. And at least the location is totally different.
How does it feel for the Wayfarer team to have the Lightship database turned into garbage?
At the very least, as a Niantic game player and one of Wayfinder's own, I cannot stand this kind of behavior.

The abusive community in this area intentionally generated false wayspots on houses.
This has generated in different S2-cells for Pokestop to occur in Pokémon Go.
They will later attempt to generate the same set of equipment in this park separately.
The slide exists in a place that should normally be designated as such.
You know the rest, right?
They will generate this as a separate PokeStop within a few days.
It is the same cluster of playground equipment. But abusive Pokémon GO players around the world occur in collusion, as I have taught you in previous appeals.
And this abusive community can have a total of 45 Likes in a short period of time as I informed you.
If all of their accounts were Lv 38 or above and had passed the Wayfarer test, you would understand how easy it would be to manipulate them in light of the review rules you have created.
This really doesn't seem to be a wayfarer issue at all anymore. You should contact the PokemonGo Support and send them your proof for the multi-accounting going on in said area.
No
This issue encompasses the various problems that good wayfinders are currently plagued with on the wayfarer and gaming field.
And in this case, it was discovered at a relatively early stage, so it can be treated in a straightforward manner.
Something simmilar happened in my area. There's this playground inside a private condominium that got divided in separate wayspots. There was a picture in one that showed both wayspots, we upvoted that picture to make it the main photo so we could report the duplicate. During the night the person owning the portal created more than 20 accounts in a range of 100kms to like another photo so the one showing both structures wouldn't be the main photo of the wayspot, in one night the portal got more than 40 likes and the comm was full of "new agents" that never played. the duplicate wayspot is still there and won't get removed because of the stupid difference between acceptance and removal criterias.
I wish those likes could get removed, cause if more wayspots get added in that cell, that one will become a gym for certain, giving the abuser more advantage in both games.
The "gaming field" belongs to each of the specific games, not to the wayfarer system as a whole. Gym creation for an example is tied to PokemonGo, you wouldn't find any help if you would ask in the Ingress forum. We have all seen many similar threads closed or ignored by Giffard, who were about gyms and such. As said, you can obviously report the multi-accounts using the support with your proof and you should ofc.
Wasn't gym creation tied to ingress likes and photos? When did they change that?
There was never an official date, but many believe it was when photos and likes were introduced to PokemonGo. In either case, you wouldn't receive PokemonGo help in the Ingress forum, since it was not their topic.
@ftzzghzuhdidu-ING
The issues in the gaming field regarding Wayspot are linked to Wayfarer and Lightship.
For example, the issue of multi-accounting and spoofing breaking Pokémon gyms and Ingress portals. This is a specific game issue.
Also, high quality wayspot in the correct location are not present on the game field due to cells or sponsors. This is also a specific game problem.
But, for certain games Wayfarer is manipulated to generate fake wayspot and low quality wayspot, not putting the PIN in the correct position for the cell. This is a Wayfarer problem.
It is not a specific game issue.
We need to isolate this problem.
And, as in this case, conspiring to review on Wayfarer generates fake wayspot or low quality wayspot, and manipulates location information.
This is not a specific game field issue, it is an abuse of Wayfarer.
You, the wise Wayfinder, will understand this.
Also, unlike Pokémon GO, where the main objective is to catch Pokémon, Ingress, where the main objective is to go to a wayspot, the more of these fake wayspot there are, the worse the game is.
No one likes to go to a mountain of trash.
As a wise Ingress agent, you will understand this as well.
The problem is that the vicious nominators and reviewers in this area are manipulating the gaming field by conspiring with each other on Wayfarer.
I raise this issue as one manifestation of that.
The Wayfarer team, the ambassadors, and we must urgently address the problem of the malicious ones continuing to add to the garbage.
As a wayfinder, Ingress agent, and Pokémon trainer, I don't want to see fakes covering everything like in some European cities.
This is the same for all of us, including you.
@NoctarionD-PGO
Perhaps the feeling that something is wrong, as you do, is common for wayfinders.
And that feeling is very important for us in the real world.
Our bodies and brains do not exist inside a smart phone. They exist in the real world.
And we need to abide by the common sense of the real world.
If our game is rejected by the real world, it will be impossible to continue the game.
You have recognized it very well. There are many game specific issues which should not have a topic in this forum. Some issues do swap from one game to another and to more, as general fakes or location abuse. It is our duty as wayfarer to recognize these and combat them. Your previous thread is an example of that, where multiple duplicate photos have been removed. The topic of this thread though are PokemonGo likes and multi-accounting in that game. It is not a general wayfarer issue anymore. To be honest, the wayfarer appeals in the forum have been standing still since almost three weeks soon, taking issues from the PokemonGo Support and reporting them here does not help us Wayfarer.
@ftzzghzuhdidu-ING
If you read this post about "wayfarer abuse", you, the wise wayfinder, will understand that this is connected to the wayfarer problem.
I have typed a response but it has not been approved yet to appear. Here is very actual and relevant thread concerning this kind of topic. To show you how things are dealed with today.

NianticCasey and Aaron are not anymore relevant to the wayfarer forums. As you can see, their posts are older than a year and Giffard has already multiple times decided against what they have recommended. You are certainly aware of this, but I guess you are grasping at straws. Information has not to only be written, but also up to date to reflect the actual rules and procedures. As said, taking the issues meant for the Ingress or PokemonGo Support here would just damage the workflow established for us Wayfarers.
@NianticGiffard
It is just like the real world we live in, where abusers will not stop attacking Wayfarer and the Lightship database while you hesitate to respond to an abusive community.
Good Wayfinders will continue to be abused by bad Wayfinders.
Now, let me share with you an unfortunate topic about Wayfarer and Lightship.
The abusive Pokémon GO players and their community that I have been talking about for some time will not let up in their attacks.
First of all, this same cluster of playground equipment.
They are adjacent to each other.

But they disguise their location for S2 cells.
Ingress does not show wayspots within 20m, so this one is probably already approved as a wayspot.
But it is the exact same cluster in the park, only about 5m away.
They will continue to abuse Wayfarer in this way.
By the way, this site is called "Minpoke", the main information site for Pokemon GO in Japan.
Also, now you can see his information in a 360° photo.
It's also an abuse of Google Maps.
It is annoying in all directions.
In addition, as expected, nominations have been received for parks that have disguised wayspots or intentionally shifted their location onto private homes, which we first reported on in this thread.

This also cannot be confirmed from Ingress, but it is probably already a wayspot.
The Wayfarer is not functioning at all in this one area.
If it is organized, it can be approved or disapproved at will. The opposite example exists in Japan.
As a member of the Wayfarer team, how do you feel about the continued corruption of Wayfarer and Lightship?
Please put a permanent stop to the abusive community in this area and stop these Pokémon trainers from logging on to Wayfare, and to the game.
It will never end unless it is stopped, unless the entire area is overrun.
Sorry for the delay getting to your report, @tp235-ING. We have reviewed it and have made the necessary changes to the Wayspot. That said, we can see action was already taken on the Wayfinder.
