Appeals are back!

Appeals have been turned back online.
A notable change is that you now receive an email acknowledging your appeal was submitted. This email even includes the original rejection reason(s).
I haven't seen, at this time, whether or not the plans are to go back to 1 appeal every 30 days. I guess we'll see if they "fixed" the daily submission bug within the next 24 hours.

I want to note the following text that appeared on my appeal:
Your appeal will be reviewed in the order it was received. You’ll receive an email notification when the appeal has been reviewed. You may also check the status of your appeal on your Contribution Management page.
I wonder if this is true and the intent now is to do a true FIFO or if it will still be seemingly random. Will appeals submitted before the shut-off be reviewed before new ones submitted starting today?
Also, will previous appeals and/or appeals going forward include the personalized rejection reasons? I hope so!
The appeal confirmation emails are great but it would be nice to have the appeal text submitted included in them and not just the original title and description.
Thanks for bring appeals back on time @NianticTintino !!
As someone who hasn’t had an appeal looked at yet ( and until now I feel chilled patiently waiting) I will be very unhappy if any newer ones get processed first.
@NianticTintino @NianticGiffard can you reassure those that have been waiting?
I like that you get an email now, and it seems they’ll be done in the order submitted?
That still isn't fair if all of the multiple appeals submitted by people that took advantage of the glitch to submit daily appeals until appeals were taken offline get looked at ahead of the appeals of people that have only submitted a few appeals. New people submitting appeals now could be stuck inline behind people that submitted one daily for as long as they were allowed to and have dozens each in queue creating a large backlog.
Official announcement:
Still no acknowledgement about personalized responses from Niantic on rejection reasoning.
Niantic could and should have indicated much sooner that the every day thing was not intended, you can't really blame players for this one. Considering how so many things go, it was entirely plausible that it was intended but not communicated that way especially within the first week or two. Why did it take months to notice and turn appeals off? Why was there no communication until that point?
Not to mention that people didn’t exactly hide they could do more Appeals. It was all over the forums and Wayfarer groups. Niantic knew for sure but did nothing about it.
Surely there's no need to blame the players, Niantic can keep those extra appeals in a queue and review them in a monthly basis allowing the rest of the players that didn't abuse the bug to have their appeals processed in a fair way.
One of my earlier appeals has now gone to Niantic in voting. So I am hopeful🤞they are looking at them.
Tried to make an appeal and received an error message. Is there more detail on what the E2, E5 etc codes mean?
Did you already make a successful appeal today?
I had used 3 appeals, however, only the last appeal has been looked at. The first one, which I made the FIRST DAY OF THE FEATURE has not yet been touched.
@NianticTintino should we be concerned if our appeal from the first day still is not resolved?
Given that I've still only had 1 of my fourteen looked at, I'm not really too excited. I've only got one thing in voting just now that I think will fail but should pass so I'll wait for that to appeal, but again, not excited
Why was the backlog not cleared? None of mine have even been looked at yet. Come on Niantic, for once get it right.
I was replying to someone who was doing exactly that. thanks for your comment.
Not today, I’m afraid. However I did make some in late 2021 when it was open previously, and one was successfully added a few weeks back. I also had a non-appealed nomination approved today.
Okay - a similar error message used to populate of a user tried appealing when they didn't have an appeal available.
To also be clear, the nomination you're trying to appeal wasn't rejected by Niantic?
Either way, my suggestion is to log completely out of Wayfarer and try again.
I made an appeal several hours ago, and have not gotten an email.
Well I'm doubtful of FIFO since I appealed first day and nothing... but the slight bit of optimism means they will do FIFO now and I should get one in review soon...
And the latest appeal.
I sorted on my "not accepted" nominations and pulled up this one. The option to "Appeal" should not be showing as this nomination has already been through Niantic appeal and was rejected by staff. (I have resubmitted the nomination because I still think this meets social and exploration criteria, but I digress.) I assume I would get an error message if I wrote something and tried "submit appeal", but I didn't try.
..... I assume that's starting now, cause my one appeal was lime 8th in the list that I had done lol
That's not the usual kind of coal we expect from Wayfarer haha
I see that the appeals submitted today are already starting to be reviewed by Niantic, why?
Do you guys at Niantic (@NianticTintino) realize, that one appeal a month is far too less?
Personally, I wait at least 6 month until a submission leaves the queue. Then, my perfectly acceptable submissions get rejected for complete bs reasons (eg. a memorial stone on a historic grave yard got rejected for "Privates Wohngelände oder Bauernhof"). If I had to guess, this happens to 1/2 - 2/3 of all my submissions.
It's not rewarding for me to either resubmit my POI to the same crowd, that unrightfully rejected it once and to wait again 6+ months for a result, or to appeal 1 of my 100 good POI, that didn't make it through wayfarer, per month (hey, there we have a life long game, already).
There are only two solutions to this problem:
1.) Niantic hires more staff to review more appeals, so that we can submit more than one (lousy) appeal per month.
2.1) Niantic must implement settings, that reassure, that all Wayfarers know the criteria for their reviews and that they always apply them correctly.
2.2) Plus, individual rejections must have a lesser value for a rejection of a POI in total. The chance for a good POI to get into the games should be more important, than that for a bad POI to be rejected (the local community could correct that anyway).
They're looking into it and will re-evaluate its effectiveness on queues, response and so on probably at the middle of the year, give or take. We might see the appeals take on a different form or frequency in June.
Niantic has only processed 20k appeals so far.. conicidering how long they got, 20000 appeals really is not a lot. Honestly Niantic is slacking..
where was this ……. It makes me cross. There is no way any new appeals should be considered ahead of the older ones.
