With appeals at a total standstill and no info on when we can start seeing some resolve.... Can Niantic add a way to withdraw an appeal?
So MANY of us are tired of waiting for any news on the appeal system that we just go ahead and resubmit a nomination rather than wait for a system that should not have launched yet to start working.
Often times noms that have been appealed have now been approved by different attempts or maybe even different wayfarers.
With 1 appeal a day, many have appealed and resubbed side by side to see what resolves faster... and even with the still ridiculous turn around times... resubbing is sadly winning.

Agreed. Not too mention when appeals do finally begin to be processed, there is likely to be some appeals for noms that have already been resubmitted and possibly accepted. This would only further to slow the processing of appeals. I am sure many of those who have resubmitted a nomination they have appealed would like withdraw their appeal to help speed up the system.
@NianticTintino Since your on a role today... can we get an update on appeals?
I've heard a few people admit to appealing candidates they didn't mean to. Even though I stand by my appeals, I'd gladly pull a few back (if I can appeal them later) to help until the backlog becomes manageable.
Yes, please let us withdraw appeals! I don’t want to contribute to duplicate backlog
At least one in my appeal backlog is now a wayspot, so it makes sense if I can withdraw it and save precious time of the reviewers.
Yes please, I was upset with bare updates about Appeal System. Been waiting for 3 months, so I resubmit a nomination and it was accepted within 2 weeks 🤣
Now my appeal will just clog up the database and end up as a duplicate.
I agree. I have said a similar opinion here too.
Same problem! I submitted 30 wayspots in a vacation town I visit infrequently in November. I appealed 2 of those in December. In February I visited again and just resubmitted and now in March they got approved. Withdrawing appeals should not be that hard.
None of mine have been looked at yet so I think I'm just going to resubmit. If the Niantic reviewers end up wasting their time looking at a duplicate then that's on Niantic for not reviewing appeals in my area within a reasonable period of time.
I've been waiting for close to 2 months for my appeals. I'm starting to think that resubmitting my nominations every week would have been a better idea...
i haven't even appealed anything yet and i agree that there should be a way to withdraw appeals. it's just common sense at this point.
I'd like to withdraw an appeal since I'm a PGO player and didn't realize a stop was in Ingress. Therefore, it was actually a dupe...and I too was duped... Seems like a good way to clear up their system if that functionality was available.
