Abuse or just inexperience?

Hi All,
Got a submission, from about 2 years ago, recently rejected and it was marked as abuse. 😲
I'll hold my hands up, over 2 years ago I honestly believed - in good faith - those UK green public footpath markers were eligible so I submitted a couple (maybe 3 if I recall 😬). I didn't know any better. 🤷♀️
For the last year and a half I've known they are not eligible given the discussions on here. They are not real trail markers. In fact even yesterday I was rejecting them from others.
So a couple of questions...
- What does having a nom marked as 'abuse' do to your account? And,
- Any plans to have the date of the nominator submission appear on the review screen?
As a reviewer, the latter would help me make a more informed choice with reason selection when rejecting obvious ones like EIIR postbox (mailbox) royal cyphers - did they know or are they trying it on?
Thanks in advance.

I don’t think there’s any impact unless you continually get “Abuse” on your nominations and Niantic are unlikely to go into the details.
You can (if you want) get the photo from the nomination and see if it has any EXIF data to examine when it has come from. People often do it when they see Scanner [Redacted] nominations with no supporting information/supporting photo/description.
Thanks for your reply.
Got another 2 potential abuses coming up then, need that withdrawn feature adding back in when things are still in 'in voting' stage.
Photo - good point, good tip.
I’m pretty sure that abuse reports in reviews are not acted upon. I got one (improperly, but there it was) and never heard whisper one about it afterwards. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
Yeah shouldn't be a problem.
I got low quality photo and abuse rejection on a dog park... I resubmitted it and it was approved the second time around. No difference, in any of my text, only a slightly different angle for the photo, the "abuse" flag never did anything to me but was super annoying and dumb rejection reason for a random dog park?
Wait a minute... are you saying reviewers aren't infallible? And the system isn't perfect? I need to sit down. 😉
Cool. nice one. 👍️
To be honest, it's not like I can do anything with those ones 'in voting' any more anyway. That was such a useful feature as well even if it wasn't intended.
Niantic: “They said it’s not a perfect system! Quick, off to Poor rating for re-education!”
