Another Wasted Nomination/Upgrade(s)
Shout out to the community that doesn't review criteria before rejecting a valid nomination. I've actually had to stop submitting new nominations so I can go back to these old ones that were wrongfully rejected and submit them a second time. Imagine a playerbase that would prefer to have fewer waypoints in the network than to simply learn what constitutes a valid entry in the first place...
And before we get started, the best way to maintain a 'Great' Wayfinder rating is to act in a way that would best benefit the network. Rejecting valid nominations is a great way to maintain a 'Poor' Wayfinder rating and get yourself locked out so if you find that happening, maybe ask yourself... "why?" and... "what can I do to prevent this from happening again?". Learning what is and isn't a valid nomination is a great way to help contribute to the community.

Your supporting statements are very long but make no attempt to explain why your nominations are a great place to explore, exercise, or be social. Why do these nominations qualify under one or more of those criteria? And also why are you including search keywords...
This is getting old…He/or she has to explain why a recreation facility and a golf course are good places to explore?
yes, that's literally the purpose of the supporting statement. and when your nominations are reviewed by strangers it's pretty important as we can see from these rejections.
Would I have rejected both of these? Probably not, but for all the words used to describe each of them very few actually help support the case that they're eligible wayspots. A golf course probably can be considered an ok place to exercise or socialize so the second one is alright. The first is a sign I guess for the clubhouse? Not sure that particular sign is a great candidate especially considering its location.
So, for example. “This recreation facility is a great place to exercise and explore, because, it’s, like, a recreation facility”. Got it
What can you do there? describe those things. the photos and text provided tell me nearly nothing about it.
you keep posting the same thing over and over again and never take anyone's advice. people have told you again and again how to improve your nominations. i've looked through your post history. at this point you are just trolling or acting obtuse.
don't waste your time trying to advise this guy, he won't listen. best to just ignore him, because he ignores everyone else.
You're not the first who gets a upgrade "wasted".
See this as a chance to improve your submissions instead of re-submiting the same thing over and over.
With that title using symbols like '@' I would reject besides the extra long title and description.
Try to make it shorter.
Images are pretty good.
In support information you can explain why your submissions should be accepted no matter how extensive the text might be.
Good luck and my best wishes :)
OMG, Another TWO nominations with @ in the title.
so if you find that happening, maybe ask yourself... "why?" and... "what can I do to prevent this from happening again?"
Like not using the @ in titles. He has been told countless times that that could lead to rejections from some yet he continues to do it. The rejections for title/description are almost certainly because of that. He knows that but keeps doing it.
yep. "at" is only 2 letters. that's just 1 character more than @. so if several people are REPEATEDLY saying it's an issue. just use at. there is no need for @
I thought Niantic guidance was "Nominate the clubhouse as it's a place to socialise, not the sign on the road". Can someone correct me if I am wrong, I just cannot seem to be able to drag up that particular Niantic comment any more.
Thanks.
Not familiar with the guidance in question, so hopefully some else can post, but I would assume it's the same case as a church and church sign? The sign can be a proxy if it isn't interesting on it's own, but then it's a duplicate if the church is already approved. That's how I've been handling clubhouse signs, at any rate.
The @ symbol is not allowed
It actually takes 3 buttons to press the @ sign as well lol
I thought it eas sign was anchor for the golf course. Could have sworn the clubhouse could be it's own thing as it usually has a bar in it
You can't find the guidance any more because Niantic removed it from the websites and don't want you to review to that standard, anymore.
Yet again, as several others have noted, you've ignored advice not to put the @ symbol in your titles. You know reviewers don't like this and that it doesn't help your nominations, but yet you continue to ignore advice and include it. At this point it's almost bordering on becoming a personal identifier.
Regarding the nominations themselves, remember that you're meant to be nominating the golf course itself and that a sign only really serves as a proxy/anchor for the golf course wayspot. Instead, you appear to have tried to nominate two different entrance signs for the same course. I would class one as a duplicate of the other as a result of this. Pick one, don't nominate it as an entrance or sign, just nominate it as the golf course, and don't use the @ symbol in your title. Then you probably won't have any issues.
it is not an emoji or emoticon so unless I've missed something there is no actual restriction against it. a lot of reviewers seem to dislike it though. I've never rejected for a title containing it.
There was that recent conversation regarding crediting an artist in the description with an “@name/handle” and Niantic advised it was not allowed. Maybe that is where people are getting that from.
The convo/comment I was referring to:
Nominate the golf course, not its entrances. One of the signs can be used as place markers for the golf course (I would pick the larger of the two), but each sign shouldn't be a separate Wayspot.
Pretty sure recently it was acknowledged by niantic that the @ ssymbol, while not an emoji, is still unprofessional looking
Where?
This is one of those cases where one has to choose between sticking to one's principles or being pragmatic and flexible.
Is the @ symbol allowed in text? I would come down pretty strongly on the yes side of of that question... it's a standard keyboard symbol, not a graphical character like an emoji.
Are reviewers more likely to reject something with an @ symbol in the title? The answer to this seems to be yes.
If I was the submitter here I'd have to step back and ask myself what I was trying to accomplish, and what the best route is to getting there. I could keep submitting things with @ in them because theoretically they should be fine, or I could adapt my behavior to the observed reality and use one more character in the title. For me spelling out the word would be a no-brainer. The @ symbol is not the hill that I want my submissions to die on.
