Just a question?

How many days, weeks or months before a accepted Pokéstop submission will become a Pokéstop or a Gym in the game?
Have a nice weekend everyone 🤩

Just got hyped after tons of submission my submission got approved 🤩
Once accepted the waypoint enters the lightship database.
Each game has a different time when the data is downloaded (referred to commonly as syncing) for use in that game. Part of that process involves a check against the proximity rules for that game. And in the case of Pokémon Go applies rules about whether it’s a stop or gym.
So in terms of timing a 48 hour time span should cover it- now and then there are issues and sync doesn’t happen. If the point fails to meet the proximity rules for a game it won’t appear at all.
What? So after being approved it doesn’t mean it is really 100% approved so there’s a chance that you can’t see that accepted submission 😢
Right. It tells you so in the approval email.
Niantic won't tell you how it works, but you can search for S2 Cells pokemon Go in the wayfarer reddit and you'll learn how it works, although some detail might be outdated with regards to location edits.
Ohhhhhhh men this is the saddest news ever really what is the point of submitting something if it is not gonna be accepted? @NianticGiffard please clarify things.
If that is the case my motivation will be down submitting this kind of things 😢
it is Niantic’s poor wording that makes you think you are doing something for PoGo but actually you are submitting to the overall database.
As @WheelTrekker-ING suggests search for the info about cells.
You can ask detailed questions on the Reddit thread, as details about individual games are not covered by this forum. So Giffard won’t respond. But you need to learn about cells, and check out your possible submissions.
once you get the hang of it you will be fine.
Dude this must be clarified to all members because it cost people who submit time effort money energy just to submit things sometimes gas and airfares plus data 😢
Please Niantic just say YES or NO it is that simple don’t make us hope for something that is impossible.
I can do accept a no but saying all of that effort getting a YES from you guys is already an achievement but learning that a YES is really a maybe 🤔 makes me think that all of those hardship going out this pandemic 😷 is all in vain 😢
As explained, it’s been approved. But it won’t necessarily go live in the game you’ve submitted it from.
Niantic don’t make that clear when submitting, but the email you get does say;
Remember that not all accepted nominations will appear in all Niantic games (and may take up to 48 hours to appear).
You are not submitting nominations for a specific game but to the general Lightship database. How each game uses the data points in Lightship is entirely up to them. We have complained about the language since submissions were first available in Pokemon GO, but the Pokemon GO team has thus far refused to change the wording. At this point, we can only hope that when the Wayafar app is deployed, the ability to edit and nominate will be pulled from the PoGo and Ingress apps.
It’s worth noting that the Ingress app hasn’t ever changed the wording either. Everything say “Portal” when nominating but we rarely see begs for Portals…
Like this I hope 🤞 this will be a Pokéstop or a Gym I’ll wait a week if this submission turns out YES or a NO I’ll let you know 🤔
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
if you post co-ordinates and what it is we may be able to check.
I think we all nominated things that didn't become pokestops when we first started. It is definitely something you can learn. I know people who say "You're submitting to a database", but let's be honest, we want it to appear in our favorite game. Otherwise, why would we nominate? One or two vocal people may disagree but I wager the majority agree.
I still do it now.
Submit... Accepted... Check... Doesn't exist...oops forgot to check before submitting...

Thanks @Elijustrying-ING
No, that's not what they ask. Please show your approved nominations along with its location (in coordinates). They'll help you to check if the Wayspot meets criteria to appear in GO.
However if you still won't elaborate, you can check it yourself. Return to the place you submitted your nomination and try to create New Pokestop, but stop immediately after it shows you the map. You'll see Pokestop icons in the map that represent Wayspots that are live in Pokemon GO, as well as Niantic Wayfarer icons if they don't live in GO. Click each of the icons, if you found your approved Wayspot then you should know your Wayspot's status.
Thanks I do appreciate it thanks 😊
"Dude this must be clarified to all members because it cost people who submit time effort money energy just to submit things sometimes gas and airfares plus data"
Who is taking flights specifically for nominating Wayspots? 😆
just to be clear @Telbourn-PGO a lot of people do but not as the main objective as a side trip.
for example we go to rural places by plane then look for a local restaurant, church or monuments you know all that jazz right.
in the Philippines we have lots and lots of islands 7,641islands to be exact so airplane is very common to us.
who’s laughing now 😂😆🤣😆😂
just a joke.
Alright, you didn't need any help, then.
By the way the Wayspot name is "Mahal kong Pilipinas", correct? Maybe just its title is enough to find the Wayspot through Ingress Intel Map. Or IITC.
@patsufredo-PGO I do need help because I don’t play ingress so I’m very clueless.
I don’t understand the game play here.
We've been begging for clarifications for almost 5 years. Documentation, and user interface tweaks, aren't that hard. After this long, we must conclude that the lack of information is on purpose.
First, @JoashJagaimon-PGO go watch a YouTube video or two of "pokestop nominations and S2 cells" and "S2 Cell map in Pokémon Go" so you have a visual reference of what they are trying to tell you. If you aim to have your nominations show up in-game, there will be a certain amount of careful planning and research.
Who is taking flights specifically for nominating Wayspots?
I've seen lots of eccentric players here and we have a subculture of literal wayfaring people (Lagalag, kinda like backpackers). It's likely that there are players in those subculture but airfare is not as common, we do also have boats which is cheaper. I have seen players island hop via boat to nominate some resorts.
Also, the "7,641 islands to be exact" is a subject to change, some islands are also being contested to be under another country's jurisdiction. Not to mention submergence, volcanic shifts, and weathering.
Anyway, main point:
if you post co-ordinates and what it is we may be able to check
Eli and everyone else@Elijustrying-ING was asking for the location of your nomination in question. Like <latitude, longitude> or street address of the nomination. Not a screenshot of your acceptance email. Gonna be difficult combing through POIs with that common title for a mural, I assume.
If you'd choose to keep the location for yourself, you can also check it yourself if you did read up about the cell system and set up the Intel Map yourself. Again, youtubers and news hubs are your friends in keeping you up to date.
@MargariteDVille-ING are we on the same page that Joash is referring to how Niantic is not outright explaining the mechanics of the cell system there (If I understand correctly: YES = accepted, shows up in-game; NO = rejected; MAYBE = accepted, won't show up?). If yes, wasn't it so to not abuse it? Such as curbing intentionally offset pins to favor the gameboard.
😮

For me I’m leaning towards “Maybe” means No you don’t need maybe it is like a false hope.
It is better with me if Niantic said “NO” and still use it for pins or future ideas for game developments and references
For me saying “Maybe” creates more and more false hope that encourage the “Laga-lag backpackers”.
I do admit when I saw a “Yes” for the first time I was so pumped up I was thinking ohhhhh this is what the community needs so let me submit more of this but clearly it’s not.
I do want the “Yes/Maybe” it doesn’t make any sense to be honest like what I’ve said earlier, Time money effort energy data in general life is so important I feel that False hope for this game is really bad it generates bad things for the community and it really doesn’t help and it divides the community instead of uniting it.
“NO” is the bigger answer to this what do you think?
Ohhhhhh man just now my Uncle just died due to Covid related symptoms.
This sucks I haven’t had a chance say good bye to him 😢
I hate you Covid.
@Hosette-ING @Ochemist-ING @52cucumbers-ING @521490000-PGO @MargariteDVille-ING @PaulingZubat-PGO @Oakes1923-ING
I'm so sorry. I hate COVID so much.
I'm sorry for your loss, @JoashJagaimon-PGO . I work in Health Care IT, and have seen your same pain played out far too often. Stay strong and healthy, yourself.
Thank you @Shilfiell-ING Covid is really no joke take care guys 😢
Sorry about your uncle, had something similar happened these past years.
I am now more confused with this response.
YES = accepted, shows up in-game; NO = rejected; MAYBE = accepted, won't show up
^ This was what I interpreted from this comment you said previously (^ Eto yung pagkakaintindi ko mula sa):
"
I can do accept a no but saying all of that effort getting a YES from you guys is already an achievement but learning that a YES is really a maybe 🤔 makes me think that all of those hardship going out this pandemic 😷 is all in vain 😢
"Can I get a confirmation from @JoashJagaimon-PGO that my interpretation is what you meant or not? ( Alin dito yung tumutukoy sa sinabi mo?)
(A) Tama yung pagkakaintindi ko mula dun sa sinabi mo na:
"Yes" ay tumutukoy sa approved na nomination tapos lumabas sa Pokemon Go
"No" ay tumutukoy sa rejected na nomination
"Maybe" ay tumutukoy sa approved na nomination pero hindi lumilitaw sa Pokemon Go
or
(B) Tungkol ito sa malabong criteria kung ano ang magandang nomination
or
(C) None of the above (Can you put it more bluntly for this case?)
I’m also sorry for your lost 😢
I mean if it is a Yes show it at game.
Congratulations, the community has decided to accept your Wayspot nomination. Please check out the full details in your Contribution Management page.
if it is No/Maybe they should send this.
Unfortunately, the community has decided not to accept your Wayspot nomination. Please check out the full details in your Contribution Management page.
In the case of maybe they can still use the data that was sent to them.
For me the issue here is they told us as contributors that yes we’ve accepted your contribution but if you it is invisible 🫥
It feels like this
Congratulations yes we’ve accepted your nomination but it will be visible after 12 years.
My personal opinion is it is okay we’re sorry we can’t accept your nomination right now please try again next year by that time we have more portals opened.
