Well thats bull sheet, too big/high to scan? How's that fair? That means means churches, listed buildings, high uo statues, all are acceptable, but because they can't be scanned they now meet an imaginary removal criteria?
Can people stop overreacting to one part without knowing the context.
Just reporting something as to big to scan could just mean that use x number of similar reports on a POI before they disable the ability to scan it for all players. No one knows what it means.
No where does it even imply that doing so will cause their removal.
Lets see the app in use first before people make snap judgments about what will happen and going on about things being removed
Hopefully the "Load nearby Waypoints" page will come with a message along the lines of "See, there are loads of Waypoints here and even if you do get it accepted, it's not going to appear in PoGo / Ingress" or something similar, just to reduce the number of obvious duplicates coming for review.
Then again, perhaps it speaks more to the fact that a large number of PoGo players know nothing about Wayfarer or Ingress and just see "that thing is not a Pokestop, I'd better submit that".
If we end up with an app, does this mean that submission abilities will be removed from all the games. I'm betting you will have to link this to an active game account and you will only get "1 persons worth of nominations", not 2, or 3, or 4 x that of a person withonly one game.
@NianticTintino@NianticGiffard please don't tell that opposing French factions can report both Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe Wayspots because they're "too big to scan".
I’m not entirely sure where this came from so I’m not sure who originally posted this but it doesn’t look or feel like an official Niantic announcement, so I’d say there’s some cause for skepticism of some of this text. “Report” might be more accurately called “marked,” such as a part of the POI that needs improvement (or in the case of “too big,” can’t be improved).
So far this app seems to have a very clear and narrow focus, to help developers use VPS on the Lightship platform. My guess is that reporting within this app will apply only to the wayspot's status within VPS and will not effect its status within games.
Everyone should wait for more info before flipping out.
Will this show s2 cells? Please, please!??! That way we can know if the location will prevent the nomination from showing up in one of the games.
And how about too dangerous/difficult to scan? There is a waypoint near me on a pedestrian overpass. To scan it, one would need to climb over 2 chain link fences and 2 concrete walls and cross a busy highway twice.

"too big/high to scan" is a reason for reporting something? That seems a bit weird.
Very weird.
but maybe if it’s a way of reporting that scan is not possible???
So maybe in future the expectation is that scanning will be a requirement? And you need to say why not possible ??
just speculating

They can't make scanning mandatory because not all phones can do it.

If you are going to release a mock up of something make sure it contains sensible info.

"Report this wayspot" includes reasons unrelated to wayspot removal (e.g., Photo is watermarked).
That's what happens when information is **** fed with no context. The questions people are asking are pretty reasonable in my opinion.

So, it's an app. Can we expect certain...familiar...overlays..to work with this app?
Since no one mentioned it, you can also submit Wayspot nominations with a formular now (You'll need a dev account).
The process is described here: Generating Scans for VPS
Submit new Wayspots here: Submission Form

Easier said than done given niantic's recent track record of blunders...
