Hometown and Bonus locations do not provide 'edits' to review

The documentation throughout the Wayfarer website says that home and bonus locations are supposed to affect the edits you receive:
Settings page:
Hometown Location is a place of your choice that influences which Wayspot nominations and edits are assigned to you. This could be a place where you grew up, went to school, or any location with which you’re familiar. Once set, this cannot be changed!
Bonus Location is a place of your choice that influences which Wayspot nominations and edits are assigned to you. This could be any location that you are familiar with. Once set, this cannot be changed for one year!
Help page:
Help > Hometown and Bonus Locations
Hometown and Bonus Locations are self-chosen addresses that influence which Wayspot nominations and edits are assigned to you.
However, users do not receive edits to review from their home and bonus locations. These are the types of reviews that people pull from their hometown and bonus locations:
- Receive new nominations to review? Yes
- Receive title and description edits? No
- Receive location edits? No
- Receive photo submissions? No
Either there is a bug in the review system, and we are not receiving edits which were are supposed to, or the documentation on the Wayfarer website is incorrect.

I've reviewed for close to 3 years, now, and I've never seen an edit for my Home location (Mid Michigan [except for when I'm physically there]) or my Bonus (Seattle).
Reviewing edits would greatly help reduce the edit backlog.
We also do not recieve upgraded nominations to vote on from our bonus or hometown locations. This would be a nice feature to add and is odd that it wasn't part of the original coding.
@NianticGiffard @NianticTintino-ING This bug report did not receive a response. It has been over a month since I posted the original report. This issue still continues.
Today i reviewed an upgraded nomination from my bonus area so i'm not sure this is or was a bug, I think it's just uncommon.
This begins to sound like the case of Niantic once again saying something that doesn't actually reflect reality, just what they thought/planned on being true. They are incredibly bad at actually using words that say what they mean to say like the pogo nomination screen declaring "submit a pokestop nomination" instead of the reality being "submit a wayfarer nomination that may or may not be used in pokemon go". Also the email "thank you for submitting an edit, check the status in your contribution management page" when in reality this was a planned feature that after 6 months incorrect emails, still is not ready.
It has been four months since the original bug report was posted. Why has there been no response yet? Is it at least being investigated?
The developers don't read specifications, or don't have to follow them. But the documentation is written from those ignored specs.
AND: The documentation people don't play any Niantic game, and don't talk to developers.
