What is the requirements for a pokestop to become a gym?
My town has a very busy and popular downtown and has a lot of pokestops but only 3 gyms and 2 of them aren’t on the Main Street they’re behind the town hall.
So I ask again. What is needed for a pokestop to be made a gym?

This official forum is not about how the approved wayspots may be used in a game. Officially Niantic won’t say.
You can try the Reddit wayfarer area. You will find details there. There are some basics that are around the number of points in an S2 Level 14 cell. There is a lot to learn, but it needs to be not on official Niantic space.
Pokémon GO questions should be raised on the Pokémon GO forum.
It’s of no concern to Wayfarer whether the Wayspot becomes a gym or not.

Niantic will not officially comment on the conditions for promotion to Pokémon Gym in Pokémon GO.

That particular gaming forum will not be created in the future.
However, Niantic is likely to torch the campfire within the next few days, so there may be some movement at that time.
