I see nothing which indicates this building is intended primarily for K-12 students and not adults. Their website gives the appearance of a regular church which also runs a Sunday School service.
It is not for us as GAME players to determine this, the fact that any school, not "pre school" is offered there and is clearly posted on all signs should have been reason to deny the original submission and approval of this waypoint. How many churches offer adult education and put gym and basketball equipment out, answer I don't care, shouldn't have been submitted in the 1st place, its ruining the game!
The reason I say that is due to one of the former Ingress AMA's (November 2019).
Q56: Can we have a clarification on whether all properties owned by Scouts and Guides should be marked as "K12" please?
A56: I am told that if they’re full-time Cadet or Scout buildings where the primary purpose is gathering of people in the K-12 age range with a membership component, it would be considered similar to a private daycare center and ineligible. However, if it’s a public gathering place that’s occasionally used for Scout or Guide meetings, then yes it would be eligible.
This answer indicates that it matters whether the 'primary' purpose is for K-12 activities. In this case, it appears that that is not the primary purpose. It strongly seems to fit in with the latter description. Unless you can provide further information to clarify the situation further?
As per usual you’re trying to manipulate the appeal system in your favor. the schools part refers to the Sunday school service they offer as shown here on their website and their school ministry program they offer (which is an adult program) . Zero indication this is a grade/primary school. Feel free to withdrawal your appeal after either viewing the image or going to their website. I say this knowing you won’t because you don’t care about fair appeals only getting sites removed that don’t benefit you http://www.bfbc.com/
Wonder if @NianticGiffard will do anything about it as per his last comment on this thread
He also posted a duplicate so it can slip through. https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/34195/church-is-a-school-as-shown-on-the-portal-picture#latest
The signs say School, not Sunday school, not boyscouts or any scouts, SCHOOL, and per submission guidelines this should be removed. The basketball COURT is just a temporary hoop, should that actually have been approved? NO
the sign says “schools” not school it’s right there in your pictures. That should be your first clue that this isn’t a grade/primary school. Il quote you from before “It is not for us as GAME players to determine this” the community doesn’t care what your interpretation of schools is. The churches websites lists this as an adult ministry school. I’m generally curious if you think the wayspot should be removed when the churches website confirms there is not a grade/primary school there? Now we’re back again to you talking about how the wayspot is temporarily/ineligible based on your post when again you’ve gone out of your way to not post the wayspot in question. I don’t see any sign of the wayspot in question and image is for a completely different.
Your photos are of the entrance/sign, angled away from the basketball court deliberately not showing the area the in your photos then arguing the court is temporary is not helping the appeal and is intentionally dishonest trying to sway the appeal your way. This is again abusive of the appeal system trying to manipulate it to fit your narrative
@NianticGiffard
@NianticVK
I’ve tagged you about this issue before can this please be looked into like you assured it would be the last time
I didn't take any pictures of the basketball court, if I had you would see its temporary, my point was since it is SCOOLS, not Sunday school, they both should be removed. I will however drive back up and make the game better by getting pictures of the movable hoop in a parking lot that is considered a basketball court by the resistance.
How can you still make the school argument when I’ve linked their website which shows they do not have a grade\primary school? Please let me know what other proof would make you withdraw your appeal so I can provide it, unless you’re truly just doing this to spite other players @bgskyman-ING
@NianticGiffard @NianticVK @NianticSC
This guy has proven time and time again he is reporting in bad faith and abusing wayfarer. Why are you allowing this to continue?
Thanks for the appeal, @bgskyman-ING! After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspots in question.
So you didn't actually read any of the evidence. What is the point of these forums?
@NianticGiffard please tell, did every churches which hosted Sunday Schools meet K-12 rejection/removal criteria now?
Any resolutions @NianticGiffard ?
We stand by the decision since the church hosts Sunday schools for kids.Edit: Please check the decision below.
@NianticGiffard One of the previous Ingress AMA responses which was on a related topic said:
I would have thought this would be similar, as it is a public gathering place (a church) which occasionally is used for K-12 activities (the Sunday school).
Does that mean that this clarification has now been updated/replaced?
i.e. A public hall which is used once per week for under-18s scouts is ineligible? A dance centre or gym which has adult classes but also some classes aimed at kids is ineligible? A sporting clubroom which is used for some adult teams but also some under-18s sports teams is ineligible?
This potentially changes a lot of things here and there will be significant questions in the community which arise as a result. Can you please clarify the above questions because otherwise people may interpret into your answer in ways which is not intended.
@NianticGiffard fyi - Every church I have ever been involved in hosts Sunday Schools for kids at the same time as Sunday Schools for adults. If this is the new guideline, then I don't know of any church that is eligible to be a Wayspot.
The OP revealed their game motivation in this statement with the words "by the resistance." Please undo this malicious removal.
Sorry about the confusion there, thanks to both of you for following up. We have restored the Wayspots now.
Having said that, Sunday schools in church without a regular education curriculum are not considered K12.
