Weird nomination behavior in the last 24 hours or so?

I've made a batch of 5 nominations on July 17th, all in the same area.
3 of those went into voting sometime on July 20th. As of roughly 21:00 UTC on July 20th, they were still in voting.
Between 04:09 UTC and 04:59 UTC on July 21st, I've received decision emails for all 5 nominations from this same batch.
Of the 3 that I've seen in voting, 2 were accepted, 1 was rejected.
Of the 2 that went into voting (unknown if it was Niantic voting or community voting) and reached conclusion between 21:00 UTC on July 20th and 04:09 UTC on July 21st, one was accepted and one was rejected.
The 2 nominations from this batch that were rejected aren't showing any rejection reason on the website. I've tried refreshing the tab, opening a new tab - nada.
All 5 of these nominations were processed extremely fast. I've never had any nomination processed that fast, let alone 5 at once. I've made nominations in that area before and they were processed slower, within a normal time window.
Did anyone get a rejection in the last 24 hours that has got reasons showing on the website?
Did anyone else encounter this kind of nomination/decision behavior in the last 24 hours, or ever at all?
I'm seriously perplexed.
@NianticTintino-ING @NianticGiffard Is this weird lack of rejection reasons a known bug?
Comments
I think when there is no rejection reason it indicates it was reviewed by Niantic.
Hmm. If they were rejected by Niantic, then I wonder if @NianticGiffard can get the team to look at them again, seeing as I can't see a reason why they were rejected (it's a fitness station and a synagogue, publicly accessible, appearing on Street View, etc. I can share the full details if needed).
All the same, if they were indeed rejected by Niantic, I think it's pretty counterproductive that they don't have rejection reasons show for these rejections (the same as the old "." rejections).
I had a similar nomination that I submitted on June 15th, and it was rejected on June 18th. I saw that on June 17th it wasn't even in voting so it was almost an instant rejection. The rejection criteria also didnt make sense for a series of information boards at the Istanbul airport. Sadly I didnt have the chance to see if it was voted by Niantic or not. But this turn over was quite fishy.
The latest round of Niantic voting has been woeful. I've seen about 7 now that have been incorrect, not even borderline just poor decisions.
recently, Niantic in-house rejections have not been providing rejection reasons, so it looks like it was a community reviewer rejection. If this is just a sign advertising the museum and not an anchor for the museum itself, I agree with "other rejection criteria".
That's would be on par with the way some appeals have been handled, to be frank.
Although at least with appeals you know that it was handled by Niantic, with these ultra-fast decisions you don't even get to see that they went into Niantic voting in the first place.
It is possible it was a community rejection! But it is hard to believe that it was rejected overnight. However this is not an advert and the supporting photo I submitted shows that. You can clearly see all the information boards right behind the sign!
@NianticGiffard Hi Giffard, any chance I can get clarification on this? Were "Divrei Shalom Ve'Emet Synagogue" at 32.026821,34.778235 and "HaShomer Fitness Station" at 32.026525,34.778241 reviewed by Niantic? And if so, can I get reasons for these rejections, since I can't see why these were rejected myself?
Thanks for bringing this up, @SiIverLyra-PGO, I shall be sharing your feedback internally. Having said that, you can always appeal for the candidates through Wayfarer contribution management that you believe should have been approved. However, you can submit one appeal per 30 days.
Thank you. I'd have re-submitted or appealed the nominations, but considering Niantic's rejections did not include reasons, I could very well just be repeating the same mistakes with the nominations that would lead to repeated rejections (considering that, in reviewing my own nominations, I could not find any reasons for rejection myself). That's why I'm looking for more insight on these rejections.
Hi @NianticGiffard! Just to make things clear - will the team share their rejection reasons for those nominations with me, or was your comment the last say in this matter?
@NianticAaron @NianticOtoStar Since Giffard hasn't been active in a while, maybe one of you guys can answer my question?
As I said, it's hard for me to know how to approach resubmitting my nominations while Niantic didn't provide the reasons why they rejected my nominations in the first place.
Also, at this time, we are unable to provide specific details for each nomination that is ineligible. However, if you believe your PokéStop nomination should have been eligible, please try re-submitting it after improving the title, description, and/or photo. Thank you!
@NianticOtoStar that post was in reference to a bug with the previous email system that was resolved before switching to the current email system (in which no one receives rejection reasons in the email, as they are instead located on the Wayfarer website--except apparently not always). If this is a bug, it is a new bug unrelated to the years-old bug you are referencing.
Thank you for the reply, but like @flatmatt-PGO, that bug doesn't apply to the current email system. Not to mention that my phone is set to English.
From experience shared by other Wayfinders it seems that nominations that were rejected directly by Niantic don't have rejection reasons. Considering it is the Niantic crew themselves that made the decision to reject these nominations, I was thinking that you guys could also provide the reasons why you rejected them, since - as I said - I can't see them myself and don't know how I could improve the information I've originally provided, as to me it already seems perfectly fine.
Though we're unable to provide the specific reason for the nomination that is ineligible, we'll surely look into this. Meanwhile, could you please report this via the Wayfarer website's chat option? Thank you!
Other people have requested to know the rejection reasons from a Niantic review and been given them here. Is this a new policy @NianticOtoStar ?
If we don't know why a nomination we thought was great was rejected, we are just going to waste everyone's time resubmitting the same thing without knowing what to fix. I have seen some of SilverLyra's nominations, and she does not submit ineligible Wayspots. Even more telling are her reviewing coal posts, so I know she cares about quality.
If you don't want to share the rejections reasons on the forum now for some reason, you could send her a direct message. But we need to know the reasons Niantic rejected a nomination.
If you guys want us to keep using the Wayfarer chat option, you need top allow us to open more than one ticket at a time, as well as resolve tickets much faster. It usually takes an entire day for a ticket to get resolved, if not longer. We shouldn't have to pick between reporting abuse, doing 10m+ portal moves, and reporting bugs like this.
Furthermore what is the point of the bug reporting section on this forum if we are supposed to report things like this via the help chat?
Yup 10,000 foot bridges in the last 4 days
Hello OtoStar,
Thank you for the suggestion, I went ahead and did that. This is the reply I got (ticket # 19162987):
Hello Explorer,
Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! We are unable to provide specific details for each nomination that is ineligible in this thread. If you feel that your rejected nomination should have been approved, you can now appeal it. To appeal a rejected nomination, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to Wayfarer
2. Go to your Nomination Management page: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/nominations
3. Click the nomination you'd like to submit an appeal for
4. Click the Appeal button and enter a note on why this nomination should be accepted.
5. Click Submit nomination.
Note you can submit only one appeal per 30 days. If you have already submitted an appeal, you may see an error when you try to appeal another nomination. Alternatively, we suggest re-submitting the Wayspot candidate after improving the title, description, and/or photo. Also, feel free to join our Niantic Wayfarer community and discuss your nomination with other players: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/
Best,
You can probably see why this is unhelpful.
Again, it's disheartening that Niantic in consistently unable to provide reasons for the rejections the team itself decided on.
