As can be seen in the screenshot below, the description contains a player name ("owned by bantony"). Please take action on the player who submitted the description and change the description to something more suitable for the wayspot.
I would've attempted to change the description myself when I was at the location, but I had next to no signal and it took me nearly 10 minutes just to be able to load the game up (after a network error caused it to freeze) and be able to add my Pokémon to the gym. I'm also not local to this gym and was being driven through the area by a friend (I can't drive myself), so I can't really go back there to do anything about it. Hopefully it's OK to submit this request like this as a result of the circumstances.

Bumping this as it's been a month without action. Additionally, if I was able to suggest a new description for it, I'd put something like:
"This wheeled Celtic cross monument stands here to commemorate the nineteen local parishioners who gave their lives during the first World War."

I'll give you a hand there Hank. Ingress dynamic links, I can remotely access the portal, so I've put a desc edit in for you.
Thanks :) Out of curiosity, how would I go about getting a dynamic link for a specific Portal for if something like this ends up popping up in the future? I really don't play Ingress much, but I did use the level 8 weekend to actually get to level 8, so I can now submit title/description edits within Ingress.

One of the add-ons from tehstone gives a button on Intel to be able to open a portal in Ingress, and provided your within a certain distance of that portal, you can open the modify menu that lets you edit it.
