Sorry but this challenge is complete nonsense. With a little more than 100 reviews I get an upgrade anyway. Where is the motivation in the Challenge for a single upgrade to take the trouble and then possibly select something and then not end up in the top 3 and then get nothing in the end and get nothing at all? Who comes up with that ? And why should I select confusing suggestions? Most here in the forum know their way around, if so I have to choose a category that I and others (German cycling and hiking trails) are continuously rejected. No one wins this challenge. Instead of simply writing a fixed catalog of criteria with visual examples that every reviewer can refer to, something like this is now being organized. Very disappointing. First nothing comes for months, with the appeals it's only going slowly, because InHouseReviwer don't know their own criteria and or accept fakes (🤦🏻♂️ yes I tested it) and now a challenge that is unnecessary from the structure. It would have been better if new AMA had been announced. 🤷🏻♂️
The reward is more like a lottery than something a group is rewarded for
@NianticTintino I hope when you find the top 3 that there is a discussion at the very least with the wayfarer ambassadors, before clarifications are made. Let them help in the possible issues that any clarification will bring up. You can't solve everything this way, but many time when Niantic has clarified something it just raises more questions.
Footbridges easily will be number one. Hopefully people will be able to tell the difference between an actual footbridge, a bridge, and a wooden skid someone just threw on the ground in the woods near their house.
I think I see what you're saying... to clarify, the "sample" was only to demonstrate what was needed in the screenshot :) not what I would submit for the challenge. Hope that helps.
Given the number of threads on the topic is why I said that. And some personal experience. For example this is From a well marked trail on google street view On a very popular biking and walking trail but it was denied for “Pedestrian Access” of all things.
Yes, so when you're filling out the form it'll ask you what category you're submitting for (it'll be one of the questions). The top three submission types will be ones we elaborate on. Not sure what you mean by "worldwide reviews" exactly but yes, it's open to every Explorer around the world.
@NianticTintino Would this be acceptable to have an eligible entry for the form? On mobile the process of taking one (1) screenshot that shows everything you've asked for can be very different
To clarify, at the end of the week the top 3 categories lets say are
Obstructing Emergency Services
Favourite Coffee Shops
Hiking Trails and Markers
You will look at every submission on those types to see what is confusing people, collate the data then give clear definitions on those criteria based on the collated info?
Can't you just tell us now and go through some appeals instead?
Love the summary :) thank you! The only clarification would be that there won't be any voting. Since the form asks for the person to label the submission it'll be easily to assign the winning criteria.
This is not a bad challenge or anything, but I am disappointed the reward feels underwhelming. Just a Wayfarer Forum Badge and 1 free upgrade. Is there any consideration of having multiple tiers for rewards for this event? (Like how the Brazil challenge had multiple tier of prizing based on certain goals.)
Will we only receive the upgrade if our submission is the same criteria as the winning top 3 criteria? If this is the case, I am not happy that most of us that participate would not be rewarded. @NianticTintino
I find it good that there is no voting and it will only be selected by the Wayfarer team.
There is absolutely no doubt in the world that survey marks will be submitted in the form for elaboration, despite Danbo's.
Or maybe the definition of a "favourite cafe"? How much does one's favouritism preclude it from being generic?
But given there are only three that will be chosen, I can only imagine that the elaborations will be open-ended to pertain to the nuances of the global real-world, so it will be interesting to look at, if it will be similar to previous AMA responses. But one Wayfarer forum badge makes me sad, because if I go to my own profile, I'll also have to scroll past the humungous amount of disagrees on my profile before I can see the badges.
Think about creating a Wayfarer profile. Wayfarer is pretty much it's own ecosystem.
I'm not sure why criteria confusion/uncertainty needs to be incentivized. Shouldn't this be a regularly ongoing part of the Wayfarer team's purpose to help elaborate on them? It is to some extent now, but the way this challenge is structured, it comes across as somewhat convoluted.
The incentives in this challenge are underwhelming so not sure if I am going to participate. Good luck to those who decide to partake in this!
@NianticTintino A significant number of issues I’ve been encountering lately pertain to pin location. If that is part of the criteria question, can we replace the supporting information with a screenshot of the pin location?
This is disappointing. Are you expecting us to submit only one other people's contribution, meanwhile all I got are nominations with "there is no p0k3st0pZ here", "please rate it 5 stars", or other nonsense supporting information? Or, some people nominating objects inside their house or even their faces?

I'm going to call it. The top 3 will be Little Free Libraries in questionable locations, Trail signs and/or footbridges, and Restaurants.
I'm done. These have left me confused af.
Footbridges easily will be number one. Hopefully people will be able to tell the difference between an actual footbridge, a bridge, and a wooden skid someone just threw on the ground in the woods near their house.
What is there that is not to understand about trail sign criteria? It is a trail sign. Just like a can of Pepsi is a can of Pepsi
I think I see what you're saying... to clarify, the "sample" was only to demonstrate what was needed in the screenshot :) not what I would submit for the challenge. Hope that helps.
What part(s) did you find unclear? Happy to elaborate :)
Correct! The screenshot doesn't need to be in English.
Given the number of threads on the topic is why I said that. And some personal experience. For example this is From a well marked trail on google street view On a very popular biking and walking trail but it was denied for “Pedestrian Access” of all things.
@NianticTintino are screenshots with obvious scripts being used allowed?
I did it on my computer to get them to be in that layout. On mobile it might be a bit challenging depending on your settings.

I'll up my 500 reviews to 1,000 for the week.
Nope, must be nominations from reviewing others' :) great question though! I'll add that to the post.
Love the summary :) thank you! The only clarification would be that there won't be any voting. Since the form asks for the person to label the submission it'll be easily to assign the winning criteria.
They'll be on the Wayfarer Website, the forum, and the Wayfarer Help Center :)
I would suggest to anyone taking part to track your current review number so you know for sure that you have done 100 at least.
17,580.
He's worried they'll get placed in less obvious places. Right now, the AMA clarifications aren't obvious for new (or even experienced) reviewers.

I've never used this but if it produces a .png, .jpg it should be fine.
Will we only receive the upgrade if our submission is the same criteria as the winning top 3 criteria? If this is the case, I am not happy that most of us that participate would not be rewarded. @NianticTintino
This is what I think is an attempt to meet the feedback taken from the Wayfarer Criteria Clarification and Incentivising Wayfarer discussions (with limited rewards), and I think this is okay.
But given there are only three that will be chosen, I can only imagine that the elaborations will be open-ended to pertain to the nuances of the global real-world, so it will be interesting to look at, if it will be similar to previous AMA responses. So to clarify @NianticTintino :
100 Reviews.
Not 100 Agreements.
Correct?
@NianticTintino Because my photo .jpg and .png file is not working to be sent in the form?
Sorry but my iPad doesn’t produce the required screenshot, so I’m out.
But just to clarify (as I am confused) is it “the what is it” categorisation at the end that is the part that you found hard to decide?
So not whether a LFL is on PRP but if not rejecting it, how would categorise?
I'm not sure why criteria confusion/uncertainty needs to be incentivized. Shouldn't this be a regularly ongoing part of the Wayfarer team's purpose to help elaborate on them? It is to some extent now, but the way this challenge is structured, it comes across as somewhat convoluted.

And the rewards are too mediocre, just telling.
