Pokémon Stop Rejections DALGETY Bay Scotland
I’m starting to lose interest in this game.
I walk with a boy with autism to give his parents a break as it’s stress full and he loves Pokémon go. I’ve been developing the area in our walk to include mile markers. Year around planters our town uses as a community garden. A Rare post box. Everything is denied. I’ve sent hours working on Photos and descriptions to surprise him with the new stops when they are included. Everything is rejected. I’ve even based my nominations from similar towns and the information that they supplied. Still rejected, everyone at niantic when I ask for help couldn’t care less. Nick at niantic closes every submission I ask for help.
the reasons keep changing, some say these places aren’t there. But it’s on Google maps. It’s an inappropriate location but is on a safe grassy area. I’m at my wits end and keep asking for help. This based on what my experiences are is not a supportive community. I sometimes travel to Edinburgh and took Alan to Spider-Man yesterday and a trampoline park I gave 5 stars to is now a stop. But every day new rejections.
some of the stops descriptions I’ve seen are utter garbage and shouldn’t be accepted. But I’ve put in a huge amount of work and I can’t get this done for him. Niantic keeps referring it to players who reject them which if it’s true are benefiting from similar stops close to them. Who have no interest of helping develop a rural area and get players back in. Let alone help a boy who loves this game and it’s his on.y chance to get out and play the game.
you should be ashamed.
below are the stops I’ve been submitting
. I’m not naive enough to believe this will change anything. But starting to dislike this game very much and niantics inability to help.
Comments
All of these have the air balloon icon next to "in voting," meaning that Niantic staff/contractors will be reviewing them instead of other players.
I'm not saying this to be harsh, just to give other options/ideas in case this doesn't work out for you. There are other games that may fill the niche you are looking for:
I understand that submitting in a small, largely residential town can be extremely frustrating. I can also understand why you're probably having difficulty getting these particular submissions over the line.
The post box: It's my understanding that in the UK most reviewers are looking for historical Royal Cyphers (such as Edward VIII's "ER VIII") or special properties (such as being gold instead of red to celebrate Olympians) rather than just the crown crest. If this post box is special, you really have to justify why in the description and align that with what reviewers are looking for.
The bus stop "terminal": If this is a major interchange, I'd suggest taking a better photo to show that. It currently looks like a generic bus stop. If the bus stop is somehow important to your local community, you're really going to have to work to show that in your description and supporting information.
The planter photo for a community garden: "Not a seasonal display" doesn't really belong in the description. Use the description to describe the garden and why it matters to the acceptance criteria - exploration, being social and/or exercising . If you have to clarify it's not seasonal, it might be better in the supporting information. The main photo makes it look like a pretty generic planter. Is there a sign for the garden? Or are you able to take a more zoomed-out view of other garden beds and features? It currently looks like you're submitting a single half-barrel planter with an ad for a local accountant on it.
Once Niantic has completed its review, you should get feedback if they choose to reject these submissions. The feedback will appear on each submission's page. It will be pretty helpful to check back and see what they have to say.
If you find you need additional assistance, there is a forum category here where you can get more feedback from the community: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/nomination-improvement-advice
It's not clear to me that any of the three things you posted should be accepted. I'm not sure why mailboxes with just the Scottish crown are rare or interesting-- aren't they fairly common? The bus stop as you posted it would merit an instant rejection from me, as bus stops are rarely eligible. The term community garden is usually synonymous with what the UK calls allotments-- a garden area where people rent plots for growing food.
None of these are a great place to explore, exercise or be social based on what you’ve posted.
I echo things like Pokémon Cafe Remix and even mainline Pokémon games as things that may help, you can probably pick up a DS for relatively cheap and that’ll work with DS & GBA games.
I am one of the folks in the UK Cross Platform Wayfarer group where we do have a lot of folks from Scotland, if you want some UK specific guidance/assistance with Wayfarer, let me know.
I haven't been to Dalgety Bay in a good 10 years or so but I'm sure there are still lots of eligible nominations to be found.
If you find some things and want to post them in the nomination improvement section I'm sure people will be willing to help or help improve anything before you submit again .
Nothing you posted is eligible. Read the criteria. Stop using the "but I walk with a boy with autism" excuse, we see stuff like that too often when reviewing. There are plenty of Stops and Gyms in the area already, just plan your walks better.
From your other thread - "It’s a game" - Real talk, it's a game so we should allow any old garbage in the system? no thanks, that's not how things work.
Your not winning any favours with the autism speech, Wayfarer is a system based on the real world, reviewers don't take it easy on you just because you can't walk more than 5mins down the road, the world is a very unfair place and these types of games benefit those who are more mobile than others, fact.
Some of us spend hours and money in travel expense going out to visit genuine interesting places to benefit everyone, not submitting whatever coal is outside my house. Nothing what you posted meets any criteria, your postbox is boring and mass produced, same for your generic bus stop and your plants are a natural feature, go read the criteria.
@sogNinjaman-ING
That shows a lack of understanding of the potential complexities that may occur with someone on autistic spectrum. It could well be that for this child routine and familiar surroundings are vital. Travel to other area’s especially with unknown noises can be very difficult. You don’t know and to imply without any evidence that this is just an excuse is not fair.
@RichardLydecker-PGO do post in the nomination improvement area I will be happy to try and help.
Are there potential things to submit in Longhill Park? @RichardLydecker-PGO
It is empty at the moment but difficult to see if there are any signs, equipment, sports fields, information signs, playgrounds, structures etc
It looks like there is a little playpark here that has not been added @RichardLydecker-PGO
Just above Wayfarers Way :D
Is there anything in Steeple Clump? Wooded areas sometimes have trail markers or wood carvings in them, or maybe info boards
Since this exists
This should be fine
That's a joke @RichardLydecker-PGO Don't nominate that!
A couple more for you and potentials to explore @RichardLydecker-PGO
Here on Whites Quay is a little swing set, admittedly not the greatest but should be ok. If you can add this it should create a new gym, either this or 'Wee Playpark' Wayspot would become a gym.
It also looks like the Fife Coastal Path runs along down by the seafront.
These blue metal signs can be tricky to get accepted but this does have the trail name on it. I would explore the coast a bit more for more trail names like these and I'd also be surprised if you can't find a few more things along that way. With those views of the bridges there must be more to find.
Good luck.
@The26thDoctor-PGO i did have chuckle when I was looking around on Google and saw the wayfarer street names.
It seemed apt.
I might take the train over the bridge next time I'm home and walk the coastal path.
Maybe after the winter though...
It would be a great place to have a wayfarer meet up and a blitz of doing some submissions. 😀😂
I'll save up my upgrades for the one day of summer Scotland gets.
Local Ingress Intel map: The village is not short of existing stops.

Thanks, a few were posted earlier. I think the op was looking for things nearby and there is still lots of potential in the area. Tbh even walking around the east coast of Scotland on Google maps is enjoyable :D
It's also a town ;)
Yes I had a look around to be a lot more around there. And as you say heading a long the coast is good.
As I’m from near Glasgow and exiled to Manchester I have no idea what a good day looks like that does not involve rain 😂😂😂
As a Scottish player I've probably reviewed and rejected all of those nominations already. There's bound to be actual eligible things for you to nominate in the area but if not you just need to accept that. No one is entitled to a Pokestop close to them so not being able to walk across town to one isn't an excuse for nominating a generic bus stop continuously.
The fact you say you’re not entitled to Pokémon stops when areas like this exist, you’re all ridiculous that you don’t do more to help;
A bunch of people tried to help you in this thread. You ignored them and came back with name-calling and whataboutism. You’ll never get POIs made like that.
they’re not being made anyway
Just because an area has a lot of eligible and accepted Wayspots, doesn’t mean you’re entitled to having your garbage ones accepted.
No Pikmin Bloom? That game mostly require walking, unlike Pokemon GO.
@RichardLydecker-PGO
I understand your frustration, seeing some places with a lot of wayspots will appear manifestly unfair IF this was a game where there was no link to real world objects. But it’s not, and so you need to try and make the most of what you have. Several of us have offered to help, so please don’t assume that everyone here doesn’t want to help.
If you want to help improve things locally then you need to work with us and not let your frustration at some responses and the system take over. We all have to work within a set of guidelines so somethings will work and others won’t. So we can’t wave a magic wand but we have experience and although we don’t live near you we can help you find potential points and make a good case.
So if you are willing to learn and work with people to take up the offer of help say so and post in the nomination improvement area.
