On 9/14/22, I had a wayspot approved. It doesn’t share an occupied cell or anything. It is in an area that was slow to develop. Yesterday on 9/29/22, another in that area was approved and is live in GO.
The first one has yet to appear in Ingress. It’s just missing. Do we know what the delay is? I’ve had major delay in photos appearing in game. I’m still waiting on a photo to change on the disk after “likes” were swapped.
I’ve been trying to help develop this neighborhood for a while so the players there actually have something to do. It’s not safe to walk across the busy street to come to my neighborhood anyway.
Comments
I’ve had a close look on IITC and Google streetview.
I can see 2 potential posts:
one I’ve marked in red looks like a walking sign. There also appears to be a post on the other side of the fence and path I’ve picked out in blue. I can’t tell what it is.
when I paste the coordinates you give it is just on the far side of the fence (green cross in picture below)
my best guess is that the pin was moved to the red circle in this picture. This moves it both into an occupied level 17 - so not in Pokémon Go and within the 20m radius for the other POI - so not in Ingress.
So I guess a lot depended on the photos submitted.
Only way to check would be to go there and pull up the submit screen in Pokémon and see if it shows.
I set the pin between the white fences which you can see one on the right or east in the unoccupied cell. That’s where the sign is. You can see the other fence as well on the west and if the sign is on that part, it’s still on the edge. But regardless, it’s place in the middle between the two fences because the stop represents the path, not a sign. The sign is a marker.
I think he's saying the reviewers moved it.
Yeah. Someone moved it to the middle of the street.
Image coming in the next comment by me but has to be approved. It clearly was moved as ALL of these were placed between the two fences.
Yes I meant that the pin position was changed in review - very annoying
My screenshot post still hasn’t loaded yet. But you’ll be able to see once it does.
I guess I could go out and have my partner geotag it.
I know they can track abusive down voters but can they track abusive move edits during the review/voting process?
I would like to think so. We don’t know how many reviewers moving a poi it takes.
This is where it was placed originally with the new stop marker. The other that is in game is clearly between the two fences as intended.
This is the work of a local player and their multiple accounts They did this to 2 other locations to cause them to not appear and I got them fixed. So annoying.
Thanks. I’ll have my partner report this via wayfarer.
You can also request a location edit through the game.
since it hasn’t appeared in game, I can’t request an edit let alone even see it.
I hope you are successful in getting action on the accounts involved in the malicious move.
Thank you. We’ve given names we know, but l don’t know if their method of edits is trackable.
Bear in mind that there's an issue with wayspots on this screen that has been reported elsewhere on the forum. Wayspots in the database seem to use GPS coordinates to 6 decimal places, but on this map there's evidence to suggest at least one of the coordinates may be getting rounded to only 4 decimal places instead, meaning the accuracy may be a little bit off on this map.
I am sorry for the double post (I don't want to send my comment into moderator review), but if possible, can you let us see the main image you used for this submitted wayspot (the supporting image may be of use as well)? Use the paperclip icon to load it instead of trying to embed it in your post, as that seemingly skips the moderator review step.
I am unable to retrieve it and can’t get it though Wayfarer (long story I’d rather not post publicly). It’s ALL related though. Anyway, the one that is near it turns towards the left. The missing one turns towards the right. Also, the missing one has a doggy bag post near it. The other has a garbage can.
The abusive player has gone out of their way to submit multiple unnecessary photos to the location to have their name on it. But I just noticed another close stop has photos of the wrong location attached to the wayspot. That’s due to abuse of duplicating a nomination.
The main and photo with a like is correct. Path #2 curves to the left. 2nd photo is the in-voting number 3, and the bottom 2 are the missing #1 which is a good walk away as it’s by itself.
He did this to wayspots in my neighborhood as well.
I just saw another location that lost its original photos because the abusive player got them removed, putting his low-quality photos in instead.

@HankWolfman-PGO i would DM you but I don’t know how. The stuff I want to show you I prefer to not post here but it’s what is going on. I’ve been reporting it to no avail.
This is the sort of situation that Niantic need to get hold of and sort out @NianticAaron
The Niantic staff can open a DM with you but that’s as far as DMs go.
I’ve not experienced any targeted wayfarer abuse…..but can’t say the same for PoGo. The mind set of people who feel the need of exerting control like this is very anti-social.
This has been going on for over 2 years now. We’ve reported, shown evidence, used the wayfarer ticket option which seems to lose replies. If you look at my first discussion, that was when I caught wind of the wayfarer abuse because 1 was jealous I got a “home gym”. I live near a playground. Others use it. I don’t own anything, but the mindset of others is that they own something if it’s near them. I’ve lost it plenty of times but I just take it back. Part of the game.
Prior to that, most of my submissions were rejected for reasons that weren’t related. They even admitted on these forums that they were marking mine as duplicates.
Then it was the home gym issue. Then more mass rejects for false reasons. I know how to submit and I take great photos.
I didn’t know about cells or whatever and that was the new method of abuse. And another new method is he submits a bunch of new photos and then goes and marks the existing ones (mine) as not meeting criteria, so only his are there. I discovered he was successful once with the nearby neighborhood. He had the original photo by @Flicker4-PGO removed. I reported that today. The spin disc still has her photo but I can’t vote on it. So I went out and submitted my original for that spot.
And in that same area, there’s another gym that has 3 photos for other locations due to duplication abuse.
We even caught wind from a friend of him rallying others and listed his accounts so his stuff got approved but other stuff would get rejected. I’d share the screenshot but it’s personal information.
I just want to finish the 2 neighborhoods and be done with nominating. We have so many kids between the 2 areas and our small course set for the kids is nearly complete. Over half of the stuff in my neighborhood I don’t use. The other neighborhood I rarely go there but there are people there who play, more so now that I’ve given them more to play with.
I enjoy the thought of their excitement when a new gym/stop appears in their neighborhood. I don’t care for credit. These games eventually will be the thing of the past. If I had access to rural areas, I’d build up their areas so fast. Give them something to do.
Nased on the pictures you attached, the correct place for the pin is at the opening in the fence.
Yes, that is where I placed the pin originally. I’m not doubting that. I’m just tired of the trolling.
@NianticAaron @NianticGiffard This is where we originally placed the wayspot.
This is where the abusive player moved it to.
The correct location is between the fences as where the sign is and where the path technically starts. It’s how the neighborhood was designed.
The bad location puts it on the edge of the street, just inside of the other cell. The correct location is conveniently in a different cell. Sweet. Not always that lucky.
He did this with Saddlebrook West Bike Path #9 and Saddlebrook West Community Pool. You guys fixed #9 and refused to fix the pool even though the evidence is there.
Look at these nominations, look at the accounts/wayfinders who consistently vote negatively and make edits and submit bad photos on EVERY submitted wayspot in this area. They’re all one person. I can post the names here publicly if you wish. It’s not personal nor private information. It’s a game. However, I would prefer you to DM me to request the names.
He was already punished for moving a wayspot out of its year-long location when it became a gym. You fixed it and supposedly punished him. Then he and 3 other of his accounts mass downvoted about 14 wayspots that were all legit. Again, you supposedly punished the 4 accounts. So now he can’t downvote. He can’t move, so he gives us 5 stars each but he changes the pin’s location from where it was submitted after checks the grid to see if he can place it in an occupied cell.
Please fix this as ultimately is your system he’s messing up. I have put in legitimate nominations excluding the entrance signs. I thought those were all ok.
He troll rejects, he marks as duplicate if he can, he edits the pins when he can move it to another cell, he takes multiple unnecessary photos and then votes on keeping his but removing the others, and he does this on at least 7-8 accounts. I only know of 8 by name but I know there are more.
This is not how wayfarer should be. This is not normal behavior. This is obsessive. This is stalking. This isn’t bullying. As representatives of brands like Nintendo and Pokémon, you should be living up to their standards and stop bullying. There’s no tolerance for it with them. I have plenty of evidence to prove it including physical harassment and stalking. The man has literally come to my house to “play the game”.
Please fix this location. And I cannot use the wayfarer abuse form because of his bullying and lying. I can’t even use campfire fully now because of another account that’s likely his that is the “leader” of the local group with another account he has access to, as an admin.
He’s even posted on these forums using 3-4 of his accounts in 1 thread over the removal of a gym that was at a school (but it was submitted as a church to bypass school restrictions). Niantic chose to remove it and all the other wayspots that were at this school.
There’s even a post on these forums where he admitted to marking all of mine as duplicates, which was the truth, but the lie was a complaint that had no merit to it.
I hope the geotagging helps resolve this. The weather is not ideal to do so and I prefer to not be out in the cold.
Try the move appeals forum and link to here 🤔🤷♀️
I will in the next step. My partner said they took the information from geotagging and processed according to their policies; whatever that means. I do not expect them to be helpful as this situation has gone on for 3 years & change now.
Turns out the player made an alias and hijacked the local campfire community so I’m kicked in a community he stole just so he could be in control but not actually lead. There’s no community anything going on. No chat. Just likes control.
Its a lot of fun! >_>
Looks like it is now in game after my partner used wayfarer and the geotagged videos. But this has to stop. We can’t keep having you guys fix our approved nominations every time this guy alters them so they can’t be live.
Thanks for update, and a result.
But yes there does need to be some system to prevent this **** **** negative effect.
edit Really dr1p is a banned word
We do wish it would end. We just had another good & historical nomination rejected by him for pedestrian access. There’s an intentional built-in sidewalk there made for those who couldn’t afford tickets to have some uncomfortable but free viewing. Now it’s a local historical landmark and we had a great bit of history added to the description.
Niantic has yet to respond or DM or truly investigate.
I just had another get rejected by him. I wasted time building up for an upgrade and this wasn’t even in voting yet. Troll rejected en mass by his accounts. This location has had numerous troll rejections by him. Whether it was my nomination or my partner’s or @Flicker4-PGO’s, he keeps blocking them.
It may not be loaded yet but this is the geotag
It was hit as a temporary/seasonal display. Once it was a duplicate. When are you guys going to fix this @NianticAaron?
I shouldn’t have to waste an appeal. Flicker4 is still waiting for it to be appealed on her end.
Mine was the one above, but while I was reviewing, I saw another that was my partner’s. I gave it a good rating and the rejection email came back within the minute. Tell me this isn’t abuse. This location has been rejected by 1 player numerous times.
