Having trouble getting a local business accepted

Location:
Name: Πάρκινγκ Σκαφών Αγνάντι
Description: A place for display, maintenance and parking of boats.
Additional information: Parking Agnanti (Αγνάντι in Greek) is a place to view boat all year long. It also offers maintenance and parking services. I'm sorry about the tree it's too close to the sign to get a better photo. Find out more about Agnanti here: https://www.facebook.com/agnanti.parking/
I've been trying to get this unique local business for quite a while now and I'm usually getting "temporary display" or "private residence or farm" rejection reasons. I've tried improving the additional information several times to say that this is not temporary, the place is open all year long. Not sure about the 2nd rejection reason...
This is a quite unique as this village is way out of the sea and you don't see similar places anywhere nearby. It's a nice place to visit to see boats in the middle of a hill (makes a nice antithesis).
How can I improve my nomination?
Comments
It's hard for me to figure out which acceptance criteria this would fit.
Not a place to exercise, neither it seems that it's a good place to meet.
You're going for the explore as a way to view boats far from the sea, but unless they have some kind of "information tours" or anything like that it seems that you can only see the boats from the outside, you must find the proper way to express why this is interesting and put it in the description of your nomination so people can understand why this is interesting. Reading "A place for display, maintenance and parking of boats." looks totally boring for me if I don't have a boat to park.
Simple. It is an advert for a boatyard - it is not eligible as it meets none of the Niantic criteria.
It goes under the exploration eligibility criteria: Unusual or unique local shops, as listed in the Niantic guide.
I've seen many local businesses accepted here and there and I believe this qualifies under this criteria since it's a village up in the hills and it's quite rare to see boats right in the middle of a field.
Am I wrong about that?
Most definitely not. I rarely see boats stuck in the middle of a field.
Irrespective of whether it meets any criteria the sign looks like it is cable tied on and the main focus of the nomination is stuck behind a tree.
Even if you can make a really, really good case for interesting, independent and/or unique business that offers things that can't be found elsewhere I think you will still struggle to get this through.
Good luck though, I'll be impressed if you can convince reviewers to accept.
Whoa, that's not cool at all. Chill out.
Also, you're making me wonder if this is why my friend has rejection issues when submitting eligible things on his holiday in Crete.
@NianticAaron @NianticLC
could whoever is on duty take action on the post.
He also made the same comment on my mass rejection post:
At least I found one that's mass rejects my nomination.. Now if only I could learn why... And yes it's possible that your friend is getting rejected by this guy too. Although the distance is quite large from Thessaloniki to Crete so probably not.
The nominations were upgraded, so they would've been seen by a wider review audience. At least the one Niantic reviewed themselves got accepted.
Αμπαλοι τραχανοπλαγιαδες
It's a natural result.
Candidate photos are like that banner, right?
It's not hard to imagine that it can be removed immediately.
If you use the nameplate of the store as a candidate photo, there will still be room for explanation.
Of course, it must either be a free-standing sign that does not easily fall off the ground, or it must be fixed to the wall.
Unfortunatelly there are no walls here. As you see from the photo it's a very remote area so the signs are on the fence of the business. I managed to take a better photo of the sign and the surrounding area and also improved the supporting information by also adding the business' youtube video showcasing some boats and Niantic's clarifications about accepting local businesses.
I don't believe most reviewers even check those links as I got many "fake nomination" rejections where if you spend 5 minutes on those links you see that it's there. I believe progress is slow but I'll eventually get there as I try to add more info both on description and on supplemental information.
Your appeal misses the point and doesn't answer what the judges want to know.
All the points made in this discussion are valid.
A good presentation is self-explanatory.
Ideally, the judges would be able to understand the content without having to post a link.
You might want to brush up on your social skills about making presentations that get across.
A boat repair shop is not a hangout. No one socializes there.
It's not a boat repair shop. It offers boat services such as storage, delivery maintenance. It fills the criteria of explore as there are many boats in the collection to see. Let me provide you with the updated information:
Description: A boatyard into the mountains. Opened in 2014 it offers boat services such as rental, maintenance and storage. A most unique sight that adds to the village's beauty. Be sure to explore their boat collection!
Supplemental information: One of the best places to explore in Agia Paraskevi, the nearby village. Located only a few meters outside of the village on the road to the holy church of saint Paraskeui. I chose the sign as the pokestop photo as it's the most characteristic of the business. Please note that this is a remote area of a village with around 2000 population so I kindly ask you to be less strict with the criteria. This business is very unique since the place is located up in the mountains and finding boats in the middle of fields and forest is definitely a sight to be seen. The business here brings people from Thessaloniki (a major Greek town) and attracts people into the village. It's a very important to the local community since it's one of the most important businesses to open in the vicinity. Verify the legitimacy of the pokestop via google https://goo.gl/maps/cEY1LcctPC3yjxdH7 and also it's Facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/agnanti.parking/ See the youtube video showcasing the business: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2vScpL1jxc&ab_channel=ParkingAgnanti Niantic's guidelines regarding the acceptance of local businesses can be found here: https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/faq/2775-content-guidelines/ "Generally speaking, local businesses that are considered long-standing watering holes, favorite hyper-local hangouts, or even more regionally recognized as a cultural hotspot, fall under the eligibility criteria of Explore and can be submitted for consideration and review. For submitters, since this is a subjective judgement call the reviewers must make, do utilize the supporting text and images to strengthen your case. For reviewers, keep in mind that even a generic business in a small town can be an important part of the local community." Also check Niantic's Casey post here: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/45941/#Comment_45941 "When it comes to local businesses, it's true that we have "opened the doors" a bit wider to encourage nominators to submit local hotspots and reviewers to be more open to small communities' local hotspots that may also be a chain."
It's still an advertisment sign stuck to a fence. It might be the only advertisment sign on 10km, but it is STILL not eligible under Niantic criteria.
It's a storage facility for boats. Being able to look at boats while they're stored there doesn't make this a place to explore any more than being able to look at cars while they're parked in a parking lot makes the parking lot a place to explore.
Your supplemental information is also way, way, way too long and doesn't give any explanation as to why this meets the acceptance criteria.
It's not an advertisement, the business is right there behind that fence.
This huge explanation is because I got it rejected as "fake nomination" (among other things) so I provided as much info as possible.
I would agree that it doesn't seem much in a "general sense" but focus on Casey's comment: Even a "generic" business can be important to the local community. As mentioned in the supplemental information this is located on a remote location near a village of 2000 population. It brings people from even the major town so businesses like this are very important to the village. This is why I also included this clarification.
In my opinion and what I undestrand from Niantic's point of view businesses in remote locations can be a major asset to the local population, provided the nominator proves that effieciently. Am I wrong about that?
Do you believe that this nomination will be rejected no matter what I improve or can I include something more to make it more presentable?
Do you believe that this nomination will be rejected no matter what I improve
Yes.
I haven't read anything in all the explanations that you've written during these months that makes me believe that this is a PoI.
Anyone can see that your post is substandard and hopeless.
Please re-understand the original criteria before posting.
Θα στα περάσω εκεί που πρέπει την βρύση και το πάρκο και έχω συνεννοηθεί με όλη την Ελλάδα.
Thanks for changing your mind about my nominations however what do you mean by that you've been communicating with the whole Greece. I asked everyone if they know about you or a different wayfarer community and none knows a thing. Is there a seperate Greek community that I missed? If so can you invite me so we can talk?
No wonder why you've complained about nothing to review for days.
He also changed the location of one my nominations from its correct location to inside the forest for some reason... :(
Εκεί που πρέπει είναι. Αλλά το πάρκινγκ σκαφών δεν θα περάσει ούτε στην Δευτέρα παρουσία
The location you putted it in has nothing to do with its real location. Please don't abuse wayfarer.
Based on the content of the discussion, I will be closing it for future comments. I appreciate your understanding.
