The results are in! We had a ton of fun seeing all of the submissions for accepted Wayspots, community wayspots, and enjoyed even more, your Explorer group pics! Thank you all who participated! Now, here are our #WayfarerTwitterChallenge winners for part 1, 2, & 3.
I really hope you never do this kind of contest again. I can tell you that other Challenges that have only required participation to receive rewards don't leave you feeling like **** for not "winning." I don't mean to be a sore loser but it doesn't feel good to have broken my number one rule of never taking a photo of myself and then not getting any benefit out of it. And amongst those who did win, it's not clear to me why some are first, second or third place. I just don't like making a competition out of something that has no qualitative means of judgment.
I saw the original Twitter announcement and was briefly sad and depressed that I didn't win - but then I hatched a shiny Noibat so I felt instantly better. Now seeing I won a second place prize just adds to the joy, especially since that Fast-track Appeal is the one prize I really wanted! Thanks @NianticTintino-ING and team!
Those were the rules for the third part, I was specifically asking about the second part. Seeing as Tintino posted the rest of the winners by now, it seems to have been a simple mistake on Niantics part.
We're reaching out on Twitter for your information :) Once we hear back we'll start delivering the rewards. Hope to have it all wrapped up no later than the next week.
One of the 1st winner of this challenge is the same person who got banned from this forum because of endless drama he and some other folks did..., very cool.
Btw can everyone else got their participation rewards, @NianticTintino-ING ?
TBH, I think it was a terrible idea to pit us against one another to try to "build community." And then on top of that, they evidently rewarded people who are trouble-makers in the community.
Sigh.
It's like they don't really understand the word Community.
As far as I can see there were 18 entries for part 3. And that is counting every use of the hashtag with a photo. That feels like it would be disappointing for a village fair that was trying to get people to post hashtag selfies.
Don't count on that. They've already posted on Twitter that they're going to repeat it next year. Because they don't care who wins and who loses. They don't care that some feel alienated. They've done "social media" and can check a box.
Don't take this the wrong way, but how wad the things decided? Like genuinely, are we saying that a bog standard play park somehow come second for exercise?
Some part of it was random, not all. I placed second in the random part, mostly because my lack of skill in execution is balanced out with some above-average luck...and that's all. I did submit my Part 2 entry from Pikmin Bloom solely because I figured the odds would be better there. I saw some really nice entries for Parts 1 and 2 that I'd love to visit!

I'll keep my fingers for the people who entered that for once they can make good on their word :)
I'll keep my fingers... and they will be crossed :/

That’s nice and all but please remember to add the Criteria Challenge updates to the main site as you indicated this would happen.
Aren't there supposed to be 9 winners total for the second part, 3 per game?
There will be 3 winners for Pokémon GO submission, 3 for Ingress, and 3 for PikminBloom. Each game will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner
You're right!!!!! Let me finish adding those.
Fixed! :)
heck, still didn't win 🙈
Did you delete all the entries? @NianticTintino-ING
Oh nooooo. Sorry about that. Since these were random, the odds weren't in anyones favor 😅
Delete them from where?

🎉Woot woot! Check your twitter by the end of the day for a message from us :)
It was fixed by changing the rules of the contest. Now it reads
There will be two sets of winners, one for the IRL group photo and one for Virtual group photo.
Whatever.

Oh yeah, now I see. My bad - thanks!
You mean we did all the work for no reward? Sounds familiar.
I posted Achnabreac, the Neolithic stone art at Kilmartin Glen, does the free upgrade get added to your wayfarer?

I think its safe to say this won't be repeated.

Tintino said either here or in Twitter that it was random. Ita all meaningless.
The event itself was interesting, but I wonder if it was necessary to use Twitter. Why not use the Wayfarer web page?
Ewww, that sucks, was hoping it would at least have people looking at it and deciding on merit, rather than just name out a hat thar sucks

Direct question concerning winners:
How can the first creepy derp dino win against the second one in direct comparison?
Again comparing similar things - historic structures in the woods: How can the 1st one beat the 2nd one?
Further question for this one:
How is a roller coaster #social ? Imho that's clearly exploration ....
