I don't see a problem with the candidate itself.
I think it's a good idea to check the accuracy of the location on Street View before posting.
As an additional explanation, you should explain the additional information in your own words rather than pasting a link.
I think that it meets the approval criteria from the viewpoint of a base of exchange, but it should be explained firmly.
The ideal submission is one that the judges can understand without the need for a link.
I think maybe your pictures don't do the candidate justice. The visual image is the first thing reviewers will see and can massively change how people will view the rest of your info.
Maybe something like these would be better?
There's also a sign nearby that isn't as impressive but may be better to help get it through?
Also... These bird statues are nice as a separate submission. Where are these?
Hi peeps. Thanks
@82quuu-PGO OK re the mismatch. No. The Pin was placed just right. So I do not understand the mismatch. It is a pier that runs from the public footpath. Over a tidal beach and out to sea. I put the Pin where most people will be. Not out to sea end but public footpath end. Understand on the links. I do either too little or too much.
@The26thDoctor-PGO OK re the photos. I would have taken from the other side. But that first photo you have up... Is the Kiosk cafe side. And it was full of people when I did the nomination. It would have been rejected for that. But yes that first you one you have up is beautiful.
the second. Last nomination had the word boat house in it and was rejected for private residence. It does look pretty with the lights on though! Perfect excuse to go have a fine feed (they do the best steak and fab cocktails),
did not think of the Woolhara Council information sign about Rose Bay Promenade. . I will pay closer attention when I next go by ;-)
The last one of the Pelicans. That sits between Rose Bay Ferry Wharf and Catalina Restaurant. So about 600m away. And a POI in its own right.
Thank you both for your comments and feedback. Much appreciated ;-)
Your Supporting Info basically says "It exists." Something exists on every inch of this planet. Say what criteria you think it meets, and why. https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility
No worries. Your picture made me think 'What is that?' and it does look like it could be a private residence on first view. Maybe just needs a slightly wider shot for a sense of scale. Minus annoying people :)
Good luck.
Thanks for the appeal, @rufoushumming-PGO! We're not currently reviewing PokéStop submissions. Please resubmit the nomination by improving its title/description if you feel that it was a valid nomination.
@NianticLC How about giant mushroom submissions? Are you reviewing those currently?
This is Nomination Improvement section...
oh - I was convinced I put it in the right forum....... I was not asking you NianticLC for a review. I was asking other contributors for their thoughts and help.
I thought there was another forum for an appeal....
If I have this wrong NianticLC please tell me the appropriate place to ask others for their advice.
@rufoushumming-PGO You were right. Niantic was just weird to pop in this thread.
The problem is at first glance, the photo looks like the back of residences and air conditioners on the water.
I don't see anything that looks like a public pier or restaurant from that photo or angle, and the supporting photo is almost the same exact photo.
The main photo should show an "inviting" view, head-on, facing down the pier with some kind of sign for the public if possible.
The supporting photo should be looking back from on the pier towards the restaurant to show the public access and restaurant signage for location accuracy.
Change those two photos and it should pass.
Thanks JohnnyMack68-PGO
Well it has been rejected face on, cafe side, length ways.
For having no pedestrian access, for having orientation issues, mismatched, being house or farm, for having url or mark up (it had none),
So i have nominated several times and tried different things. I am actually down that way in a few days. I will take the photo from the water itself.
I do laugh as a storm overflow pipe in the sea a 100ms away. That you cannnot reach on foot. Is encrusted with oysters, Is only seen when looking over the wall. Not visible on Google Street view. It is accepted.
I think it does not look like what most people would consider a pier.... Hence a photo from the water to show it sitting on stilts ;-) might help. I could do with a swim. you think I jest. ;-)
I agree, you are right, I am poor with supporting photos but hey.
thanks again !
Unless there is a very good reason, I don't understand why it keeps getting rejected.
How about making the candidate photo a plaque on the building, or taking it from the marina side?
I think this will eliminate the rejection reason of private property.
I think you can explain the walkable access by taking the exterior so that the sidewalk is visible in the supplemental photos.
@82quuu-PGO
There is no plaque :-(
I will try and get marina side but almost impossible to get on.
The latest reasons for rejection were - Pedestrian Access and Orientation. Below is the orientation photo. As you say you can see the pedestrian walkway. I have had photos from the front and side rejected.
Here is the thing. I put the POI/Waypoint on the public footpath outside the front of the building. Because the building fronts the public footpath. Cannot get more accessible I thought (wrong though). It is clearly visible on Google Street view and satellite view. And with numerous google 360s. Website supporting the care/restaurant and marina are provided. And in the latest I included the sporting space with link to the local paddle ski club.
It is clearly a social space with the cafe and restaurant.
Here is the main photo rejected again re the orientation point. With much more of the Marina in view which was different to the nomination when I started this thread. I will defo reference the pedestrian access next time I nominate.
@JohnnyMack68-PGO My bad I noticed you saying take it from the marina too late to my next nomination. @82quuu-PGO also mentions the same thing. I will do so. I was there this week but there was a function on at the end of the pier so a hundred odd people were in the way.
Thanks 82 appreciate the response
This is a horrendous photo of a pier. What am I meant to be reviewing, the assortment of pot plants?
Consider reframing your nomination as "The Boat House" and do a photo of the sign instead.
yeah well it sure is Haramdays. I have taken from the front. at the side. I have included most of the marina. So now I am clutching at straws.
Because the minute I put a photo up the word House... Guess what people will do......... Private residence rejection.
And this compared to the shiiiiite storm overflow pipe 100ms away is beautiful. And you can get to this easily.
But you are right.. Awful photo :-)
