Why has the Wayfarer product been allowed to just be stuck in a corner and forgotten about? beyond the answer of "we fired everyone" - The money printer was able to continue and Ingress too (to some degree), but Wayfarer was just dropped. Why was there no backup option? why was this allowed to get to this state?
I guess we could evaluate based on how they've been involved in the forums through their posts and comments as the only sort of tangible evidence (not discounting what they do in their other platforms such as Reddit and Telegram, local communities and beyond) who are appointed as ambos.
Since they're all under NDA and the only sort of insight we have was when one of them went on the Wayspotters Podcast, I'd really like to see much more coming from the ambassadors, whether present or the next.
I can only speak about the Ambos who represent North America. I am very connected to one of them and know how to reach the other if/when I need to. They are both far more responsive than any Niantic employee/account has ever been. I think they are doing their job representing me. (Not that I don't disagree with them from time to time but I think overall they take many people into account.)
I feel like I can talk to them about "how it really works" rather than having to stick to the "official" Niantic story and they listen to my concerns. It's very difficult to communicate with a company that doesn't believe in transparency.
I have nothing against any single Niantic employee but I am incredibly frustrated with the "machine" that is Niantic. I'd take the Ambos any day.
I am not active on Reddit, but I am linked into discord, facebook and enjoy the face to face meetings with a group of people, listening and talking. So Sorry, not everyone is on all the platforms and all the Apps and all Ambassadors have been engaged in different ways. I read everything but don't always engage or respond to things. I am a great listener a deep thinker and I believe everyone needs to be heard.
7. Can the Wayfarer team please select a group of beta testers and roll upcoming changes to that group, let them test the new wayfarer for a week, and then hear their feedback before global release?
Already on it… but not fully there yet. We’ve been thinking about different ways in which we can have a program with that concept in mind. Our community has grown to a size where having a model like that would be a better way to roll out features. We’ll get there!
