How did these get approved?

Both of these were approved in the last month or two. Poor photos (both likely from car, and a poor angle on the first). There's no way proper voting was used in getting these through. They were submitted by two different Pokemon Go players in the metro Detroit area. Is there any way to get these removed?
I feel bad for all the players who had legitimate submissions rejected, while these were colluded through by people with multiple accounts.

I think you explained exactly how they got approved. The first one is more egregious than the second because of the title.
@NianticLC Can you or someone on your team take a look at this?
I'm legitimately surprised anyone still thinks this type of nomination can go through by community votes and that people still have faith in Niantic handling of appeals.
pokemon go i my guess, they are so many so they can decide whatever pokestop they want accepted or not...
Niantic has said that they were going to fast-track new Explorers'' first few nominations. Maybe they did that by making it require fewer votes to go live - and these noms got "lucky" with a couple reveiwers (or alts) that voted yes.
Seems like a terrible idea. Even passing the Wayfarer test honestly, speaking for myself, my first submissions were rightfully rejected. Maybe a couple were borderline, but knowing what I know now about the criteria, I'd have rejected them too.
The first few submissions should be scrutinized harder, if anything.
Hey @5point15inches-PGO! We took another look at the Wayspots in question and decided that they do not meet our criteria for removal at this time. However, we have notified and educated the Wayfinder. Also, we have removed the invalid image of the referenced Wayspots and you should see the changes reflected soon.
You may update the image of the Wayspots via Pokémon GO or the Ingress Prime application. Please refer to the below links on photo submission:

Thanks!
This is absurd to "educate the Wayfinder" but leave these in game. Everyone who voted to accept needs to be educated, and leaving these in game gives an example to all players that they are valid nominations.
Hooray, now it is educated that momzyduringcovd is a great wayspot to explore, exercise or socialise. I am enlightened.
This is really inspiring me to spend an hour taking a picture, doing a 360, finding the relevant info for support/description/Title and uploading.
Good job Niantic. Quality...
Really? The bar is that low that you think these are acceptable Wayspots?
I think this makes a case for this thread.
Looks like one got renamed and got the photo removed.
As has Subway.
Wrong message sent @NianticLC ?
seems very generic poi with not much value.. how is this accepted?
Hi @NianticLC, can you confirm in here that these nominations were reviewed internally through the Niantic team?
This is where Removal Criteria not being the same as Approval Criteria needs a simple common sense tweak. If anything is submitted for Removal that is less than say 2 months old, it should need to meet the Approval Criteria to not be removed. Grandfathering older stuff before criteria changed makes sense. Having a high standard to remove such old stuff... makes sense. Not removing these... simply doesn't make sense.
A certain amount of nominations are reviewed by Niantic's teams. Lack of apparent Quality Control or a different take on Acceptability & Eligibility leads to approvals like this one. As they don't meet explicit removal criteria, they are typically allowed to remain in the system.
The photos were honestly the least questionable parts of each submission. The Wayfinder is also not necessarily the issue - the issue is that *several other Wayfarer accounts* voted these through, even with the very poor titling of "momzyduringcovd".
Neither of these were acceptable Wayspots and criteria clearly outlines these as ineligible, so how do they not meet the criteria of removal when they never, at any point in history, met the criteria for approval?
Attempting to educate someone who intentionally disregarded all the rules to force through garbage is not going to work. There is so much portal coal going on, and intentionally poor reviewing and review collusion, these things need to be removed AND the voters privileges looked at.
I was talking to some other players about this, although my suggestion was "Never met criteria in the first place".

Well, I know that just recently a single mid-course Disc Golf hole was approved ON APPEAL by Niantic - so I have no faith in their ability to identify something that's never met any criteria to start with even if that status has been clearly communicated by those who are their ostensible bosses. I'm seriously tempted to start nominating every yard line on the local US Football fields because hey, they promote exercise and there's a safe pedestrian path to 'em.....
Well, told ya. The new folks here don't know a bird from a bench.
Well, in my country, we have things like these two, I marked it as duplicated when it appeared for voting, but "the community" decided it was not, and in later nominations I found it was approved. Betty rockera and Betty rock, even the names are almost the same.
You can report one of them as duplicate via support chat. Bonus point if that Wayspot is on the walls of PRP.
Here's another one: https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=42.605801,-83.268457
@NianticLC - seriously, there's no educating submitters or voters like this. There are at least five flagrant violations of TOS, and I can't believe any sane voter would willingly pass this. These need to be removed and the voters need their privileges revoked. This is ridiculous.
Is it possible these were accepted back in the old days of the wild wild wayfarers?
In this case, no - the two in my original post, the oldest one was two months old. The one I just posted is not quite as old. It's very recent.
Incredible these things get approved while others have their legitimate submissions denied for garbage reasons. I just had a playground in a park denied for “obstructing emergency services”.
Feels like a broken record, but there is a huge voting problem. Too many people using multiple accounts to deny everything, but approve their own poor POI.
showing rejection reasons in Wayfarer is helpful, but it stops being helpful when you see a ridiculous rejection reason and all you can do is appeal. We need to be able to report poor reviewers.
@NianticVK @NianticAaron @Maini2006-PGO can you please look at this?
@NianticCasey-ING @NianticLC @NianticOtoStar Nobody? These are incredibly flagrant poor POIs with voters colluding through bad POI because they want Pokestops. The quality of your wayspot network, the whole goal of your company, is going down the tubes. These really need to be addressed, and we're not sure how to report these to get them removed.
Niantic doesn't really look in this forum. They remove invalid wayspots posted here: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/removal-appeals
Or they used to - I haven't used it myself in a long time.

This is another embarrassing one from players engaging in collusion. Is Niantic going to do anything about these people?
