I have 2 Wayspot nominations that have been accepted but the reviewing community but are not showing in Pokémon Go or Ingress
Bus Stop Shelter (5th November 2022)
Sponsored Plaque (3rd December 2022)
Both fall in free cells so no other wayspots exist so should appear
Comments
The plaque seems it could be okay even if you did trigger word it.
I don’t see how the bus stop meets any acceptance criteria though.
The plaque is in the same cell as the in bloom stop.
Both are in lightship database
i am surprised about bus shelter being approved.
There do seem to be cases of approved spots entering database but in some way tagged or a glitch which makes them not appear.
I just don’t get even though accepted, they are not appearing in Ingress at the very least
@Elijustrying-ING thanks, the Bloom stop is so on the border it seems then, as for the bus shelter, no such issue there
It looks like the plaque is in an occupied cell. I can’t find the other.
Neither should have been accepted. A bus stop is ridiculously generic and of zero significance.
The other appears to be on the grounds of a care home, so would be location sensitive.
is it possible because of trigger words Niantic reviewed them but blocked them.
Part of the app process is that the wayfarer team applies a judgement about inclusion and can stop something at that point. So maybe they came through on a daily list for a wayfarer check and failed at that point 🤷♀️🤔
@TheAuraStorm-ING The plaque is not in the grounds of a care home. It’s on a public road
Being on the grounds of a care home is not location sensitive anyways. There are often pavilions, community gardens, etc. and the residents can play, employees, families, etc.
Thanks all, I’ll go out and try and move the bloom Wayspot so it falls in the neighbouring cell to the plaque. The nomination is quite big so should be able to shuffle the pin over a bit to the right
Seriously? Sponsored is actually the trigger word???? What random blooming word to be a trigger
Bus stop stop. Great stuff.
I guess it’s to do with Sponsored nominations like Starbucks and stuff? Something that is added internally to move them to Niantic review, but then people found out what it was and are abusing it whilst Niantic looks the other way.
Well ..... May as well take advantage of this (where possible) while they have this loophole lol
I’d say you shouldn’t but many others have. Some don’t even get items reviewed by Wayfarers any more.
I said where possible, like I'm not going to just randomly put the word in, but like if a mural was paid for to be painted, I'd change it to sponsored by rather than paid for by lol
Ah, I know some well known Wayfarers really stretch it and make stuff up to get the word in.
I only used the word ‘sponsored’ because that’s what it says on the plaque
There’s certainly a lot of other things you could have put in your title and description for it, for sure instead of that word.
@PkmnTrainerJ-ING why should I call it something else when that is a legitimate name for the nomination
If you ask some like @SeaprincessHNB-PGO and such, I am the wrong person to go to for title advice 😆
But it doesn’t seem like an innocent “oops, didn’t mean to say the trigger word twice” nomination to me. Maybe I’m wrong though 🤷
Well I can assure you it is innocent regardless what people think
I welcome our new robot reviewing overlords...
Gonna have to make this a Futurama GIF and come back to you.
I didn’t know a word was sponsored until now and whe I looked at it at the start of this thread it seemed a reasonable title.
So let’s chill this down a notch.
The key issue is that odd things are happening with approved wayspots.
That’s fair. I guess the question is, is it any approved Wayspots, or just those from Niantic Voting?
Did the bus stop also go through Niantic Voting?
Care homes are not automatically "sensitive" locations. It would depend on the type of facility. As someone who had to find one for my father to live in, we discovered that most of them are basically just cruise ships on land. They have activities directors who schedule all kinds of games and meet ups for their residents. They have work out rooms and pools for exercising or hanging out. They have gardens to give residents something to look after. They have libraries. They have gazebos, pergolas, walking trails, etc. Do not make blanket statements that any particular kind of location is ineligible unless it has been expressly stated by Niantic to be so. I am only 5 years away from being old enough to live in one of these facilities. You better believe that if I were in a position where I needed to be in one, I would WANT wayspots.
"Sponsored Plaque" is a terrible name because 1) it is way too generic and 2) it triggers Niantic review for no real reason. Having said that, I think using the word "sponsored" in the description could easily have happened naturally without being an intentional ploy to trigger Nia voting so the 2nd reason is kinda moot. And while I don't generally agree with J's advice on titles, I agree with him this time.
Got it.
