Clarifying Edits and Agreements impact on Medals
Hey folks,
We’ve seen some confusion on Wayfarer Medals and on Agreements in general and wanted to clarify.
The agreements section of your Wayfarer profile displays all of your agreements on player nominated Wayspots, even those made when you are not in good (yellow) or great (green) standing. Only nomination agreements made while in good or great standing will contribute to your progress towards the medal, which could contribute to a possible display difference between your medal progress and Wayfarer profile.
Agreements on Edits will ALSO contribute to your medal progress in Pokémon GO (and will soon contribute towards the Recon medal in Ingress). Similarly, only Edit agreements made while in good or great standing will contribute to your progress towards the medal. Edit agreements are not currently displayed on your profile, so this is why you may see a higher number of agreements crediting towards your Medal than are currently visible in Wayfarer. Please keep in mind that this currently only applies to the Pokémon GO Wayfarer Medal, and the Ingress team is working to make its Recon medal consistent with the Pokémon GO Wayfarer Medal.
We have also heard your feedback that you are looking for more information about agreements rating and fluctuations in recent weeks and we are working on an update that clarifies these for you. Stay tuned!

Well I’ve been in red rating for months now and can’t seem to get it in the yellow or even green. Highly frustrating. I think when you are in the any rating It should add towards the medal. Discouraging to go on wayfarer now knowing this information and made me not want to improve my wayfarer rating as I feel like I’m reviewing stuff for no real reason.
The whole system is flawed it’s a joke.
Feedback would be nice, but you know, fixing it so that edits actually happen and people aren't wasting their time reviewing while in red and being stuck there would be somewhat better.
Patiently awaiting feedback on agreement bug and erratic rating fluctuations
1,000 Agreements in Pokemon Go for Gold (Top Tier Badge)
10,000 Agreements in Ingress for Onyx (Top Tier Badge)
Gotta love the numbers difference between games.
Eagerly awaiting an explanation how the rating system works. I've only ever been in red once, had always been in green up till then, and as far as I can tell the only reason was because I did more reviews than normal one day. Hundreds of reviews robbed from my recon for being proactive. We do Niantic's job and just get repeatedly slapped in the face for it. I've lost all enthusiasm to finish it now.
I really wish they'd add a higher level of medals in PoGo. I was really bummed my wayfarer badge was done the moment it was released lol
I mean, That's just because pokemon go doesn't have an onyx equiv yet. I half expect that to happen down the line. ingress been around longer.
Pokemon go still hasn't had a level cap increase yet or harder badges. Only so many pokemon generations too so they're gonna need some of these things later for content.
It's not like other pogo players can see each other's badges though.
Same here.
I was nicely in green during OPR and in November when I started with Wayfarer, I dropped into red.
And whatever I do, I cannot get out of red. I have tried not reviewing too many POIs at the time; not letting the reviewing to get timed out; not to review too fast and spend a few minutes on each review; to review only one nomination at the time and wait for an agreement before I review another nomination.
I've looked at the guidelines countless times, I've followed the forum to seek help with iffy nominations, I've consulted with my own local community to see how they would rate certain nominations. And I am in line with guidelines and rate portals with roughly the same amount of stars as my community but I am still on red!
From 7th of May I have done 65 reviews and got 43 agreements but I am still in red.
I do put effort in reviewing but it takes me nowhere in terms of the Recon medal. Frustrating!
A relief that good and great count towards the pogo medal as well as recon in Ingress. Was under impression previously that only 'green' enabled counts to pogo but it seems 'amber' also is ok. Thank you for the update NC.
Thanks for the update, though ratings dropping have been happening for months. Kinda hard to believe you still need to work on it and are unable to comment anything on it.
Due to the lack of feedback, experienced reviewers are dropping like flies and new reviewers give up immediately.
The result is that votes get stuck in queue for months and those that do get through are often completely ineligible or get rejected for the most ridiculous and irrelevant reasons.
Lowering the threshold for Reviews during this period is not just a joke, but demonstrates a complete lack of connection with the player base.
I was yellow when they made a medal in Pokemon go. Then I though I should work towards silver and later gold medal. Reviewed 2 nominations (1 was in primary school teritory, other was duplicate) after that my ranking became red and it is not rising up whatever I do.
I dont earn a wayfarer medal, but I have agreements when I was on green. My recon medal have 1000 agreements so I should get some part of it.
"Agreements on Edits will ALSO contribute to your medal progress in Pokémon GO (and will soon contribute towards the Recon medal in Ingress)."
Saying that, will it be retroactively applied to Ingress or not?
Thanks.
I assume it's because medals in pogo are more for bragging rights rather than necessary, whereas in ingres it's necessary to get high medals to level up
When are we going to get an update on the rating drop bug and when are the guidelines going to be updated?
Can I see edit agreements on my wayfarer profile ?
Ok, all of these are so cute, but when you take the time to fix this?
The entire system is flawed
It's a fail safe that if you are in yellow or read those are not getting counted.
So that you follow guidelines and vote according to them.
The bigger problem is they don't have a fail safe for all those who think more is always better or i need it there so that it becomes x in game y and not z.
(also feel free to hate on me for saying not every nomination is worth to be in game xy just because some think quantity is better than quality)
So where should we look for these updates on the Fluctuation issue? I've been following the Report a Bug forum where you promised an update on June 1 or 2, but now see you posting under the topic here in General. There are some really good metrics gathered in the Bug thread and hope those are being reviewed. I don't think anyone's looking for clarification - we're looking for a fix.
I’ve review more the 3000+ and my medal is showing 11/50 at the moment. I don’t think that I’ve check only 11 out of 3000 when I was on the green status. Please help me to solve this issue on my account
“We have also heard your feedback that you are looking for more information about agreements rating and fluctuations in recent weeks and we are working on an update that clarifies these for you. Stay tuned!”
I don’t want you to ‘clarify’. That implies that reviewers just don’t understand Wayfarer and are somehow ill-informed. We’re ill-informed because it is an opaque process and nothing has been done to solve the information black-out.
I want an acknowledgement that this is a bug and that steps are being taken to rectify it. I also want some indication that Niantic will allow those of us affected to have our rating level reset at no penalty to us.
I’m dumbfounded that I dropped down to Good after nearly 20,000 agreements and 500 waypoints approved —especially since I have an agreement rate that of 82%. Further dumbfounded that a friend who has 79% agreement rate and is just a few hundred short of his Onyx Recon dropped to Poor and he is getting zero credit for agreements processed while he is stuck in limbo.
I think once you're red, you should be given 1 week cool-down and take re-test and then you get back the default rating.
I have the same issue. I've reviewed over 400, had majority of stops accepted, never been below green and I get this.
Good idea
So, while in red - because of bug or "clarifications" - there is no point to review. Hopefully you understand how many reviewers will drop now until your answer, promised to come on June 1 or June 2, will happen...
My rating dropped to red somewhere in May. I stopped to perform review for about 2 weeks now. Now all my old agreements starting to come back - the number of agreements is growing, but they will not count to medal? Well, I am already at gold, but my reviews getting less weight while I'm red. With 70% agreements I'm in red.
Do you really think I will continue to review before this will be fixed?
