Approved wayspot not appearing in Pokemon

I am really annoyed by this and wonder if it is possible to get anything done about this. I play Pokenmon Go but not Ingress - did not know it existed until I read a few discussions here.
I recently had a wayspot approved uploaded from Pokemon - it is even the current "featured Wayspot" on Wayfarer page - the Steampunk Sculpture, but it does not appear on the Pokemon Map when I go back to the area. I have since had a 2nd wayspot approved nearby - Tully Skate park and it appeared almost immediately, but was not submitted for review until at lease 1 week after the Steampunk Sculpture was approved. The steampunk sculpture does however seem to be available in Ingress. BTW there was nothing else at the location - there are some Pokestops across some grass then a road, but I have often found multiple pokestops within a few meters of each other - there is a triangle of pokestops nearby that all would appear to be no more than 10 meters apart.
How is this even fair - a wayspot uploaded from a Pokemon account surely should be made available to Pokemon players - or am I missing something?
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a wayspot submitted by a Pokemon player added to Pokemon as well as Ingress?

I believe this comment should be pinned in General Discussions now.
So yet another "secret squirrel" rule of Wayfarer - easy solution - if I can't rely on getting interesting images for Pokestops in my area, as anything really interesting goes to a game I have no interest in, or possibly even knowledge of - I just won't waste my time and energy. The only reason I have tried so far is as I feel it is worthwhile to send interesting images to overseas friends as opposed to the ubiquitous sign or trail marker.
Is there a way i can request that my wayspots be made live in pokemon go?
No. If there's already an existing Pokéstop or Gym in that level 17 S2 cell, then your wayspot cannot be added to Pokémon Go. If the existing Pokéstop or Gym is deleted however, then your one may pop up and take its place, so it exists as a kind of back up in that regard. And it may be used in other games like Ingress.
Exactly, no one plays Ingress or Pikmin in my small town of 1200. We have limited cell coverage in two rather large parks. I nominated a few "pokestops" in the app in both parks, so we could play. A couple got listed Ingress and Pikmin. Some got rejected including one which the reviewer said was at a "private residence" That's another story... apparently to some public parks are now private residences!
After waiting some time I asked about why some spots that were approved weren't showing in POGO and was told about the "Secondary 'automated' Review" basically the support staff said "tough luck trainer"
So in order to "grind" we have to drive 20 miles where we can spin about 25 spots including a Starbucks and McDonalds a Jamba Juice and some other (according to the power players here in the discussion groups) less desirable locations. Drive 50 miles further away you can find several pokestops and Gyms stacked nearly on top of one another. Including one mile stretch where there's a Starbucks Pokestop at almost every intersection.
