Additional information: [If you have more explanations, add them here]

Like most water towers, there is really only pedestrian access for restricted personnel. Which wouldn't make it fit for removal. However, this one is directly behind a fire station. You can get close enough to interact with it by foot or car, but only by going through the fire station.

It is typically easy to drive back there to fight the gym or raid. And people do. To my knowledge, this has not yet interfered with an actual emergency but eventually it likely will.

Ignore the fact that it is currently being repaved. It wasnt like that a week ago when i submitted and will probably be fixed soon, letting people drive back there to raid the gym, directly in the path of fire trucks.

Hi @PopeAttitudeSR-PGO! We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.

@NianticLC you have to drive directly into a fire station past the dont go past sign.

You have to see it from their point of view. They don't want to get sued because some pokemon players were standing in front of the engine bay doors doing a raid while they were trying to get their fire engines out of the bay. The location you are describing does not block emergency vehicles. It's of no relevance to them how you get (or cannot get) to the wayspot. A maintenance worker can safely get there, can't they?

sure, which is why i dont think it should be removed on "no pedestrian access" grounds. because maintenance workers can be standing inside the tower area. but "disrupts emergency services" should cover situations where players will block emergency workers in an emergency situation.

if a fire truck gets out and is blocked, niantic is going to say, "they werent standing in front of the doors to play, at a gym in front of the doors, they were standing in front of the doors to play at a gym they could only reach from there." ? that's not our fault.

Yes, exactly, actually. Because legally, by putting a pokestop in front of a fire station, they are “encouraging” or “enticing “ people to be there. If the pokestop is not the fire station, then players have to take accountability for their own actions and where they choose to stand.

that's just pretending to adhere to safety guidelines. if the only place to reach a gym is in a fire station, it shouldn't make a difference if the gym in the station or behind it in fenced off area. ill be sure to revisit this post when someone has a collision with a fire truck.
